Application of Water-Thinnable Photopolymerizable Resin for Shaping of Microreactors - Preliminary ResultsThe article presents the preliminary research on application of synthesized water-thinnable polyester resin for shaping of ceramic element by photopolymerization. The ceramic pastes made of alumina (30 vol%) and photocurable resins were used to prepare thin layers (tapes) and then were exposed to UV radiations. The cure depth and König hardness of cured layers were determined as well as the effect of a photoinitiator concentration on polymerization. The density of sintered ceramic samples also were examined. The research showed that the developed pastes with water-thinnable resin might be used to mold the ceramic elements by soft lithography method. The results obtained for polyester resin were compared with results obtained for commercially available photocurable resin.

The high pressure and high temperature sintering of α-Si3N4 and γ-Si3N4 with Y2O3-Al2O3-La2O3 as additives were studied under pressures of 5.4 GPa and temperatures of 1420-1770 K. The effects of sintering temperatures and pressures on properties of sintered ceramic samples were investigated with X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that γ-Si3N4 and α-Si3N4 is transformed to β-Si3N4 completely. The highest relative densities and Vickers hardness (HV) of sintered samples are 98.71 and 21.76GPa, respectively. The sintered samples were composed of elongated β-Si3N4 rod crystals with disordered orientation and had intergranular interlocks and uniform and compact microstructure. Pulled out crystal grains on the fractured cross sections were obviously observed by SEM.

Polycrystalline samples of Ru 1-x Sb x Sr 2 GdCuO 8 doped with Sb , in which magnetic order and superconductivity coexist with T magnetic ≫T c , were prepared by a solid state reaction technique. Lattice parameters, electrical resistivity, Hall and thermopower coefficients measurements on the same sintered ceramic samples are presented. Both Hall effect and thermopower show anomalous decreases below T magnetic which might be explained with a simple two-band model in the RuO 2 layer at T magnetic . It was also observed that the Sb doping reduce the conductivity of the system and the transition temperature decreases with increasing Sb content. This may be due to a distortion of RuO 6 octahedra which is responsible for the increase of hole localization.

The paper assesses the effectiveness of uniaxial and cold isostatic consolidation methods of medium size ceramic granular press-powders. The results of fractographic studies of raw compacts were obtained with different methods of forming. The estimation of the physical properties of raw compacts and sintered ceramic samples was done. The results of measurement of the bending strength of the ceramic material are shown. It has been established that the application of isostatic forming, compared with axial allows increasing the flexural strength of the ceramic material is more than 35% due to creating denser structure and enhancing adhesion between the granules under otherwise equal technological conditions

There are many service enterprises on the market, which offers different type of services practically every day. Quality assessment of such services is very difficult. There are many methods that can be used in such a situation, but it should be emphasized that in such researches customers’ opinions are usually used. The purpose of the paper is to present a survey on the use of methods of service quality assessment. In the paper preliminary results of the survey from point of view of the service enterprises are presented. The enterprises were asked to indicate what methods they used, what information they received thanks to such research, what happened to the obtained results and what problems they en-countered. Preliminary research was carried out between September and December 2017. The re-search will be continued throughout 2018. At the same time, the research is conducted from the point of view of the customers of such enterprises. The final results of the research will help the service en-terprises to choose right research method and can be used by various service companies.

Self-assessment of health is an important factor determining caring for health, expressed by health behaviours. Lifestyle and health behaviours play a key role in shaping health as well as the risk of many diseases and mortality. This article presents preliminary results of research on self-assessment of health and caring for health among men active on the labour market. A total of 130 men were surveyed with a questionnaire developed for this project. Men rated high their health and caring for health, and defined these concepts correctly. They had substantial knowledge on health and caring for health. However, this was theoretical knowledge only. It is necessary to examine their health behaviours.

The author presents considerations on logopaedics as a science, exposing the interdisciplinary character of this discipline. The problem discussed in the paper is depicted in the context of two processes observed in science, namely dividing and combining knowledge. Against this background the author analyzes the subject and tasks of logopaedics, taking into account linguistics, pedagogy and psychology. She also presents preliminary results of survey research concerning the understanding by speech therapists of the interdisciplinarity of logopaedics, the specific nature of diagnosis and therapy methods which, in the opinion of respondents, are specific to logopaedics. She also points to the major tasks of logopaedics which are connected with ordering the methodology of proceeding and the education process.

The article is a preliminary research that examines the methodology of the experiment devoted to the study of the speaker’s behavior in virtual reality (VR) and its results. The purpose of the experiment is to study the specific features of verbal and non-verbal implementation of the role and spatial deixis in VR. Based on the received reactions, the speaker’s coordinate system will be determined and models of the speaker’s communicative behavior in VR will be constructed. The article describes in detail the design of the experiment, which includes: stimulus material on the basis of which the VR scene is created; types of scenes used to determine the type of the speaker’s orientation; description of the tools by means of which VR is created; requirements for the selection of participants in the experiment; methods of recording material and the principles of its decoding. Special attention was paid to correlating the ‘external’ (gesture) and ‘internal’ (verbal) behavior of the speakers, to the principles of gesture fixation and their correlation with the subject’s verbal reactions to the presented scene. Based on the data obtained from the subjects, there was developed a classifier where the categories ‘Structure of the situation’, ‘Type of communication’ and ‘Means of communication’ and their subclasses are used. The data are entered into the Semograph information system and are visually presented in the form of a customizable interactive graph by using the SciVi software. At present, the reactions of two informants (a man and a woman) from the general sample have been processed. Based on the analysis of their reactions, preliminary results were obtained, which made it possible to demonstrate approaches to work with the classifier and to trace the representation of verbal and non-verbal means in the reactions of the subjects. Moreover, preliminary results help to determine the type of orientation and communicative behavior of the speaker depending on their personality and the type of scene. Preliminary analysis allows us to refine the principles of material processing, its annotation and entry into the Semograph system as well as working with the classifier.

Aluminum dross residue is a by-product produced at secondary re-melt plants where aluminum scraps are recycled. In this study, aluminum dross residue was utilized as a major component in the fabrication of unglazed ceramics for wall tile applications. The use of this by-product can reduce the landfill and environmental problems. The amount of aluminum dross residue used in the ceramic compositions varied in the range 50-90 wt.%. Other components utilized in the ceramic compositions included recycled glass alumino-silicate based clays. Firing was carried out between 1140 and 1200°C with 4h holding time which resulted in strong ceramic samples. Alpha-alumina, α-Al2O3 was the main crystalline phase found in all sintered ceramic samples. The appearance of mullite phase, Al6Si2O13 was evident in all fired samples. Overall, the synthesized ceramics had excellent densification characteristics when the amount of aluminum dross residue was less than 70 wt% in the ceramic composition.
