This study aims to identify the effect of job satisfaction on deviance workplace behavior (DWB) in terms of education level and age aspects of employees at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. The sample used was 118 employees from faculty and bureau level work units in the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta. In this study, the variable job satisfaction was measured by a questionnaire from S.Crow, et al (2012) which consisted of 6 question items with indicators of satisfaction, reward, involvement and job appraisal. The DWB variable refers to the behavior of organizational members who tend to consciously violate organizational rules. This variable is measured by a questionnaire from Robinson and Bennett (1995) which consists of 19 question items. In this questionnaire, DWB is measured by four dimensions, namely production deviations, property deviations, political storage and individual aggression. The results of the analysis tool using multiple regression with dummy variables indicate that; 1) job satisfaction has a negative effect on deviant behavior at work, 2) there is a difference in the effect of job satisfaction on DWB for employees who have high and low levels of education, 3) there is a difference in the effect of job satisfaction on DWB for young and old employees.

By applying quantitative research, the data were obtained through questionnaire which distributed to 184 employees of Eastparc Hotel Yogyakartaas respondents. In this present study we used the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method with the SmartPLS v3.0 analysis tool. The results indicate that, overall dimensions of The Big Five Personality Trait have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction and affective commitment except for neuroticism dimension which has a significant negative effect. Furthermore, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between overall dimensions of the Big Five to affective commitment. The direction of the negative effect of neuroticism is thought to be caused by the nature of neuroticism itself which describes of one's negative emotions. The result of this study will add the understanding that affective commitment and job satisfaction can be built by creating conformity of The Big Five Personality with the job and an organization.

Abstract. Establishing new social relationships is important for mastering developmental transitions in young adulthood. In a 2-year longitudinal study with four measurement occasions (T1: n = 245, T2: n = 96, T3: n = 103, T4: n = 85), we investigated the role of social motives in college students’ mastery of the transition of moving out of the parental home, using loneliness as an indicator of poor adjustment to the transition. Students with strong social approach motivation reported stable and low levels of loneliness. In contrast, students with strong social avoidance motivation reported high levels of loneliness. However, this effect dissipated relatively quickly as most of the young adults adapted to the transition over a period of several weeks. The present study also provides evidence for an interaction between social approach and social avoidance motives: Social approach motives buffered the negative effect on social well-being of social avoidance motives. These results illustrate the importance of social approach and social avoidance motives and their interplay during developmental transitions.

There may be so many negative consequences of stress for human beings and dissatisfaction among employees happens to be one of the major problems. It indicates negative feelings that individuals have regarding their jobs or its facets. On the other hand, social support is assumed to be mitigating the relationship between negative aspects of the work environment and job satisfaction. Job stress is said to be associated with job dissatisfaction as well as experience of strain. In view of the above, this study examined the role of job stress and social support in job satisfaction. The sample consisted of 30 school teachers from different school of Varanasi (U.P.). The job stress, job satisfaction and social support scales were administered on the participants. The responses of the participants were converted into scores for statistical analyses. The scores of participants on the scales were correlated. The findings revealed that job stress led to increased job satisfaction. It is against the proposed hypothesis and it appears as if the social support received by the participants is a factor behind it. Two of the four dimensions of social support were found to exert positive impact on job satisfaction but the other two dimensions were not found to be correlated with it. The findings are thoroughly discussed and interpreted.
