Smartphone are tools that help life, even become daily needs for adolescents in Vocational High School (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan or SMK) who live in urban areas. Unfortunately, not a few teenagers experience problems due to excessive smartphone use. These can include physical problems such as problems with the eyes, movement, and body position; as well as psychological problems such as unharmonious relationships with the people around them, or feeling dependent on devices. There are not many studies that describe the behavior and regulation of smartphone use in adolescents, especially vocational high school students in Indonesia. This study aims to obtain a description of the behavior of smartphone use among vocational high school students, as well as the settings up of regulations by the home and school environment. Participants are 1.921 high school students in 5 cities in 5 provinces in Indonesia (West Kalimantan, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Bangka Belitung Islands, North Sulawesi, and Central Java). Data collection was carried out through a survey with a questionnaire specially designed by the researcher. Data collection was carried out before the COVID-19 Pandemic occurred. The results showed that in the period before the COVID-19 Pandemic, most students used smartphones for about 4-8 hours per day, for communication purposes. In addition, parents and schools make regulations regarding the use of smartphones. The results of this study can provide an overview, as well as a comparison for the description of the behavior of device use after the outbreak of the COVID-19 outbreak.

This study focuses on the implementation of think-pair-share technique<strong> </strong>in improving students‟ participation in a bilingual boarding high school in Central Java. The goals of this study are, (1) to identify how think-pair-share can improve the student participation in speaking class, (2) to identify what problems appear during the application of think-pair-share. I adopted Classroom Action Research (CAR) which requires four steps, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The participants are 26 high school students. The methods of data collection are observation, diary, interview, photograph, pre-questionnaire, and post-questionnaire. In analyzing data I used (1) constant comparative technique by Burns (qualitative), (2) Likert scale (quantitative). After analyzing the data, I found out that the change in participation in class was clearly seen and all the responses from the students were positive. Moreover the average score of students` participation in class increased from 30.69 to 45.42.

The existence of open spaces in private urban villages in Jakarta is very rare. Occupancy at the center of the city causes people choose land for buildings rather than open space. Even though Jakarta has ranked in the top 5 countries with an upper threshold. Vertical garden was chosen as an alternative greening solution on limited open space. Vertical garden assistance and training is aimed at students from PGRI 15 High School located around the campus of Budi Luhur University, South Jakarta. Students are introduced to the importance of greening for environmental health and are encouraged to be creative in creating vertical garden forms with a variety of ideas. The approach method used is tri-daya, i.e. i) social power, ii) environmental power, and iii) economic power. The concept of Social Power is to invite students to become individuals who are more concerned about the environment capable of providing solutions to the completion of greening in urban areas that are increasingly limited. The concept of Environmental Power aims to invite students to take part in a residential or school environment to implement a vertical garden and increase their creativity in developing various vertical garden designs. And the concept of Economic Power is the result of the production of making vertical gardens can be used for themselves or sold to the general public, which in turn can increase the economic value of the surrounding community.
