Object and purpose of research. Mutual inductances are among the main parameters of electrical circuits, and their determination is the most important task for studying the physical processes occurring in them, including the occurrence of electrodynamic forces. Coaxial coils and solenoids are very common part of electrical devices, and finding mutual inductances and electrodynamic forces in them has a great practical importance. Materials and methods. Methods of theoretical electrical engineering are used. Main results. Expressions for mutual inductance are obtained, and they are based on the decomposition of the solenoid into its external and internal parts relative to the end planes of the coil. Conclusion. On the basis of the undertaken analysis, alternative expressions for mutual inductances are obtained.

1. Introductory .—Recently at the National Physical Laboratory we have constructed a standard of mutual inductance of novel type, whose value has been accurately calculated from the dimensions. This inductance has formed the basis for the determination of the unit of resistance in absolute measure by two different methods, in both of which alternating current is employed. Although there is no doubt that the accuracy attainable by these methods could be increased by greater elaboration of the apparatus used, the results already obtained seem to be of sufficient interest to warrant publication. It should be mentioned that the accuracy here aimed at was of a considerably lower order than that contemplated in the determination of the ohm by the Lorenz apparatus which is at present being carried out in the laboratory. For the experiments here described, no apparatus was specially constructed, but use was made of instruments which had already been designed and set up for the measurement of inductance and capacity. I shall first give a brief description of the standard inductance and then pass on to the methods and results. 2. Standard Mutual Inductance .—The design of the mutual inductance has already been described. The electrical circuits have the form and arrange­ment shown in section in fig. 1.

In the article it have been systematized morphologic features allowing to define what body surface had been subjected to the crossing with motor transport wheels and the direction of crossing. Answer to this question is of great practical importance. 60 cases of determined automobile injuries (crossing a body) have been analyzed.


PRICES AND WAGES IN ENGLAND on and was presumably connected with an agreement of a new type made with the College baker in 1718. In place of receiving a stipend, he was to be paid 1s. 1d. for baking a bushel of wheat ground at the College mill. The addition of one sixteenth to the local bushel did not affect corn rents delivered in kind, since these continued to be mea-sured by the College bushel, but it involved a raising of rents against any tenant who had been commuting rents at the local bushel prices. After the College bushel was replaced by the local bushel in the determination of Pretia (1781) and allocation prices (1787) it was apparently kept in use for buying malt, for receipt of corn rents such as malt from Stub¬ bington which continued to be paid in kind. The note from the Corn Book of 1777–81, cited above, as to the new valuation at Allington adds that “ Stubbington remains in its original state.” The purchase of malt by the College bushel was probably a concession made by the maltsters but in 1785 it is noted that the College maltsters have charged 6s. 2d. per bushel for the last three quarters of the year (while Pretia were at 6s.) and that the College bushel is larger than the local bushel. It is in accord with this continued use of the College bushel for malt rent and purchases, even after the standard eight-gallon bushel had been introduced for grain generally, that the rent and purchase prices for malt remain materially above the Pretia for malt, to the end of the series in 1817 ; the prices actually tabulated for malt represent Pretia, since purchases are confused with rents in the Staurum account for the Brewery. It has been assumed that purchases of oatmeal were made by the local bushel and prices have been reduced throughout by 1/9; but this is not of great practical importance, as the price became rigid at 80s. per (local) quarter after 1770. Since salt, as well as oatmeal, was supplied by the corn chandler it, too, was probably measured by the local bushel. It may be added that in 1789 a note states that 1s. 6d. per bushel for tax is to be deducted (from the Pretia) in making up the corn (i.e. malt) rents. The tax in force at this time was 1s. 4 1/2d.per bushel, and comparison of prices shows that in 1783(1) only 1s. 4 1/2d. per bushel had been deducted. This looks as if till 1789 or at least till 1783

The focus of discussion in Working Group 3 was on the Thermodynamic Properties as determined spectroscopically, including the observational techniques and the theoretical modeling of physical processes responsible for the emission spectrum. Recent advances in observational techniques and theoretical concepts make this discussion particularly timely. It is wise to remember that the determination of thermodynamic parameters is not an end in itself and that these are interesting chiefly for what they can tell us about the energetics and mass transport in prominences.

This paper revisits Chua's electrical circuit in the context of the Caputo derivative. We introduce the Caputo derivative into the modeling of the electrical circuit. The solutions of the new model are proposed using numerical discretizations. The discretizations use the numerical scheme of the Riemann-Liouville integral. We have determined the equilibrium points and study their local stability. The existence of the chaotic behaviors with the used fractional-order has been characterized by the determination of the maximal Lyapunov exponent value. The variations of the parameters of the model into the Chua's electrical circuit have been quantified using the bifurcation concept. We also propose adaptive controls under which the master and the slave fractional Chua's electrical circuits go in the same way. The graphical representations have supported all the main results of the paper.

The article presents issues related to the determination of the continuity quality of power supply (CQoPS) for hospital electrical devices. The model describing CQoPS takes into account power redundancy. The uncertainty modeling method based on the certainty factor (CF) of the hypothesis was used to establish the single-valued CQoPS factor. CQoPS modeling takes into account multidimensional quality models and physical stages of power. The quality models take into account seven dimensions that make up CQoPS (availability, appropriate amount, power supply reliability, power quality, assurance, responsiveness, security). The model of power stages includes five of these stages (power generation, delivery to recipient, distribution by recipient, delivery to device, power-consuming device). To date, when designing hospital power systems, the applied reliability indicators revealed limitations because they do not consider all the possible factors influencing the power continuity. Estimating the supply continuity quality with the use of the uncertainty modeling proposed in this article allows for taking into account all possible factors (not just reliability factors) that may affect supply continuity. The presented modeling offers an additional advantage, namely, it allows an expanded evaluation of the hospital supply system and a description using only one indicator. This fact renders the evaluation of the supply system possible for unqualified staff. At the end of the article, some examples of calculations and simulations are presented, thus showing that the applied methods give the expected results.

AbstractThe Sun provides a critical benchmark for the general study of stellar structure and evolution. Also, knowledge about the internal properties of the Sun is important for the understanding of solar atmospheric phenomena, including the solar magnetic cycle. Here I provide a brief overview of the theory of stellar structure and evolution, including the physical processes and parameters that are involved. This is followed by a discussion of solar evolution, extending from the birth to the latest stages. As a background for the interpretation of observations related to the solar interior I provide a rather extensive analysis of the sensitivity of solar models to the assumptions underlying their calculation. I then discuss the detailed information about the solar interior that has become available through helioseismic investigations and the detection of solar neutrinos, with further constraints provided by the observed abundances of the lightest elements. Revisions in the determination of the solar surface abundances have led to increased discrepancies, discussed in some detail, between the observational inferences and solar models. I finally briefly address the relation of the Sun to other similar stars and the prospects for asteroseismic investigations of stellar structure and evolution.

This work is devoted to the speech impact of advertising texts, in other words, the language of advertising, the purpose of which is to attract the attention of a potential consumer by making the message as memorable and unusual as possible, lively and catchy, colorful and attractive to a potential listener / buyer. The significance of the work lies in the fact that the author, in the process of analyzing the basic structural elements of the advertising message (slogan and main body), determines the main speech techniques for the influence of advertising texts: expressive means, including metaphors, epithets metonymy, speech turns, paths, various grammatical forms and other forms of influence: nominative, one-part, verb sentences, comparative and superlative adjectives, rhymes, imperative verbs, adverbs, lexical repetition. On specific examples of advertising slogans, evidence is given that the above speech means contribute to increased demand for the advertised product or service. During the study, the author confirms the hypothesis put forward at the beginning of the study: if you skillfully use speech exposure, i.e. to choose words whose harmonious combination lays in the subconscious of a person the information transmitted to him by the manufacturer through high-quality advertising, then such an advertising text can become the key to the success of trade. The work is of great practical importance: the material presented in it can be used by students to improve the culture of speech, improve stylistically differentiated speech, as well as school teachers as methodological material in the Russian language when studying the section «Vocabulary», «Stylistics».

Violation of industrial safety rules during the operation of offshore facilities for the production, storage and transportation of the hydrocarbon raw materials leads in the most cases to pollution of the marine environment with oil and its components. The works on localization and elimination of such pollution are carried out with the help of vessels of the technical support fleet and booms. When developing oil spill response plans at such facilities, a calculated determination of the technical characteristics of vessels and booms is required that are sufficient to carry out the planned activities. The basic design principles for determining the towing capacity of the technical fleet vessels involved in the localization and elimination of oil and oil product spills by trawling methods are given in the article. The calculation is based on theoretical studies performed by the authors of the physical processes occurring during the movement of objects of a mobile trawling order in the sea area. The results obtained during the course of theoretical studies were confirmed by the experimental studies carried out by the authors personally using the real pieces of equipment in the actual development of tasks for training spill containment by trawling. As a result, the empirical dependencies were obtained and experimentally confirmed, which can be used to calculate technical characteristics of the ships as part of the mobile orders and anchor systems as part of stationary orders intended for the localization and elimination of oil pollution. These results can be used, among other things, for the calculated substantiation of the technical characteristics of the technical fleet vessels designed to ensure safety of the offshore facilities for production, storage, and transportation of the hydrocarbon raw materials.
