COVID-19 pandemic has led to changes in all areas of human activity, and they have not escaped the education system. One of the new and most highly effective and, especially relevant, areas of improvement in the educational process of higher education is the use of distance learning. The aim of the research: to analyze the opportunities, advantages and disadvantages of using distance learning at a medical university. Distance learning is a form of learning with the use of computer and telecommunication technologies, which provide interaction of teachers and students at different stages of learning and independent work with materials from the information network. There are a number of platforms and applications as tools for effective, interesting and interactive learning: Moodle, Google Classroom, Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts, WebEx, MyOwnConference, Microsoft Teams. Distance learning includes a set of the following components: providing educational material to the student; means of monitoring student performance; student consultations by the program-teacher; means of interactive cooperation between teacher and student; the ability to quickly add new information to the course, error correction. Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University uses Microsoft Teams as a tool for distance learning. Microsoft Teams is a state-of-the-art real-time video conferencing tool that integrates all Office 365 tools, gathers up to 300 participants, and holds meetings lasting up to 24 hours. Also, this service includes communication in general chat and personal messages, shared access to educational materials in various formats, access to the cloud environment, control of the level of knowledge can be carried out in the form of an oral interview and with the use of test tasks, sending files, it is possible to record video conferences, screen demonstrations, presentations, web pages, use the board. Distance learning has a number of advantages such as: flexibility, relevance, convenience, modularity, cost-effectiveness and the ability to simultaneously use a large amount of educational information for any number of students, interactivity, removing psychological barriers to communication, blurring borders, no direct contact between people, which allows to actively learn even during illness or self-isolation. However, despite these advantages, we should not forget about the disadvantages. Distance education requires a certain level of hardware and software. No matter how accessible computer distance education may seem, it requires the learner to have a computer and Internet access, which not everyone has. These also include: the need for a certain level of hardware and software, depersonalization of communication, negative impact on students' health, problems with mastering practical skills, lack of direct communication with patients, inability to participate in professors wardrounds, supervise patients. As for carrying out diagnostic procedures using special devices and tools, it is an indisputable fact: you can watch videos about a certain manipulation many times, you may perfect know the algorithm of its performance, but without ever trying to do it yourself, it is impossible to master this manipulation. Studying at a medical university has its own specifics, so distance learning cannot completely replace the traditional educational process and prepare future doctors for further practice.

Physicians’ communicative competence is of immense importance for their professional activity. The current study presumes that future doctors’ communicative competence correlates with their stress resistance which influences their professional performance of duties. The specific aim of our research was to conduct a thorough study of the communicative competence of future doctors with different levels of stress resistance. According to the analysis of the level of their stress resistance, seventy-seven senior students of the Donetsk National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were divided into three groups. Further, applying a set of appropriate psychodiagnostic methods and techniques, their communicative competence was evaluated. The results have proved that the research participants with a high level of stress resistance are more communicatively competent compared to the participants with average and low-level stress resistance. Our findings suggest that future physicians’ communicative competence, as it is closely connected with their stress resistance, needs more considerable attention of authorities in medical education. So, we speculate that introducing socio-psychological training sessions both to the curriculum and to the process of current physicians' professional development will contribute to the successful performance of future doctors’ professional duties under pressure, and their interaction with colleagues, patients, and their relatives.

In the process of reforming the outpatient service, arrangement of the complex of measures to improve the system of dental care in Ukraine is still actual. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between quantitative and qualitative indicators of dental orthopedic care in the Lviv region according to medical statistical data. Material and methods. The statistical data of the Stomatological Medical Center of the Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University and the operation indicators of the dental orthopedic service of the Lviv region, as well as the statistics of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine were selected for analysis. According to an open written survey, 240 patients were reviewed on the main “inducement factors” when seeking medical care at the SMC and 64 of the Stomatological Medical Center employed dentists regarding the “contending advantages” of this facility. Results and discussion. The organization of medical care, human resources, treatment and diagnostic procedures in accordance with protocols and medical standards, relevant quantitative and qualitative data reflect the quality of the structure, process and operation results of the health care institution. Thus, the number of people who were delivered dentures in the Lviv region decreased from 17 422 in 2013 to 13 859 (by 20.5%) in 2018, and the number of fabricated dentures, decreased from 36 884 to 32 201 (by 12.7%). According to the results of the survey, among the determining components of ensuring the qualitative operation of the Stomatological Medical Center, according to patients’ and doctors’ opinions, the high level of qualification of medical staff prevailed. With a significant improvement in the material and technical condition of medical institutions in Lviv region, the number of fixed dental constructions made by advanced technologies (wholecast, metal-free) fell, respectively, from 15.6% in 2016, and 15.4% in 2017 to 13.9% in 2018. Despite the fact that in Ukraine in general in recent years there has been a decrease in the number of fabricated dentures by 11.5%, the portion of wholecast fixed dental prostheses increased by 8.4%, and metal-ceramic and ceramic constructions – by 21.4%, which indicates an increase in the quality of orthopedic care for the population of Ukraine. Conclusion. Quantitative indicators of dental orthopedic care in the Stomatological Medical Center of Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University meet the basic provisions and requirements of current statutory regulations, at the same time qualitative indicators signify an insufficient level of orthopedic treatment advanced modern technologies implementation. The high level of qualification of the Stomatological Medical Center medical staff is not only the main "inducement factor" for patients when visiting a dentist and the main "contending advantage" of the medical institution, but also the basic component of rendering dental orthopedic care

Abstract. Providing quality training for future medical specialists is an urgent problem of our time. The state program for reforming the medical sphere requires educational institutions to train specialists who possess not only a high level of theoretical knowledge, but also a qualified level of practical skills, communicative properties. The article analyzes in detail the experience of implementing an objective structured exam (OSСЕ) to assess the knowledge and skills of interns on the stage of final certification in the specialty "Infectious Diseases", which was held at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology of Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University in 2019 and 2020. In percentage terms, the exam performance was as follows: “excellent” - 11.1%, “good” - 88.8%. Criteria for the effectiveness and objectivity of the system for assessing practical and communicative skills in the OSСЕ system are determined. The role of OSСЕ in the assessment system in medical education is described. The technique of the exam at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology is described in detail. The expediency of introducing OSСЕ for conducting state certification of specialists has been proved. To evaluate the results, a descriptive-analytical method was used. Conclusions are drawn and directions for further improving the methodology for conducting and preparing for OSСЕ and improving the methodology for its assessment are identified. According to the results of OSKI conducted by interns in the specialty "Infectious Diseases" at the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, in order to optimize the examination at the preparation stage, it was decided: to form examination booklets with a sufficient database, start preparing for the exam already in the first year of training of interns paying more attention training communication skills, examination algorithms, treatment, emergency care; to evaluate the intermediate certification of interns after each thematic section using a structured exam technique; to improve the station assessment system for a more thorough differentiation of the result. It is worth noting that during the exam at one of the stations, most future specialists had low results of passing the skills, therefore, at a meeting of the department, it was decided to carefully review the tasks of this station and make appropriate adjustments. Тhe use of structured response algorithms by the examiner helps to increase the reliability of the assessment, and therefore, the impartiality and objectivity of the exam and it is the objectivity of the assessment of the exam that depends on its structure (number of stations, questions). So compared with the traditional version of clinical trials, OSKI has many positive advantages. OSKI is a reliable and impartial exam, the main purpose of which is to standardize the tasks for the examinees, which increases the commitment of the examinees because it completely eliminates the fact of the "unfortunate task". During the OSKI, not only the level of theoretical knowledge was evaluated, but also the competence of future specialists in the application of the knowledge and practice was tested. Without applying theoretical knowledge to analytical skills by interns, it is impossible to actually complete a practical task, interpret the results of the examination, establish a diagnosis, etc. A positive point is that due to the presence on the OSKI of question and answer algorithms, teachers adhere to established rules and assessment standards, can fairly evaluate the intern during a practical skill and minimize the subjective influence of the examiner on the evaluation process of the intern.
