The present article aims to underline the role of multimodal educational material in STEM Integrated early childhood education. Through social semiotics assumption that meaning arises in action and interaction, we argue that robotics, digital media, haptic materials, toys, books, tablets, actions, and artifacts have an active and dynamic role in multimodal learning and construct meaning in young children's STEM educational process. The literature review has revealed a research gap concerning combined multimodal aspects in STEM concepts for young children. We adopted a mixed-method collective case study design based on four case studies in which children interact with multimodal STEM educational material. Due to the principles for effective STEM teaching and the perspectives of integrated STEM education, our findings illustrate that MmEM in STEM concepts, through play-based, model-based, inquiry-based teaching practices (among other open-ended), may provide to children multimodal learning environments, engage them in authentic and meaningful learning, promote teamwork, communication and social skills, challenge and motivate them to make meaning of their learning.

Research on street-level bureaucrats has examined the various ways in which these professionals have implemented public policies in areas such as healthcare, education, and security, often emphasizing the role played by discretion in the implementation process. Despite its importance, the concept of street-level bureaucracy has scarcely been approached by housing studies. This study focuses on the role of street-level workers in the delivery of public housing to the lower-income population. We affirm the value of complementing street-level discretion with the concept of proximity, a premise borrowed from the microfinance literature, to increase the understanding of the interactions and relationships established between street-level workers and policy recipients during the implementation process. Such complementarity may contribute to a more accurate understanding of the housing policy implementation dynamics on the street-level and the possible adjustments to meet local needs. To explore this issue, we used a theoretical lens inspired by Goffman’s frame analysis that points to the importance of relational mechanisms that characterize the interactions between street-level workers and beneficiaries. These lenses were applied to a collective case study of Minha Casa Minha Vida-Entidades, a Brazilian subprogram in which street-level workers linked to social housing movements assume a leading role in the planning and execution of interventions. The results indicate that the combination of proximity and discretion has a positive influence on the implementation of housing policies. Our analysis shows the existence of nonprofit-oriented arrangements that may present different features and nuances at the implementation (micro) level and contribute to the (macro) debate on housing policies.

The effort to preserve the beauty of the environment is an obligation for every social creature that lives on this earth. These efforts are carried out and planned so that every human being has a caring attitude and responsibility with the surrounding environment. In educational institutions the role of a teacher cannot be separated in the educational process. To realize students as quality resources cannot be separated from the environment. This article intends to explain about environmental education in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 7 Jombang. With a qualitative case study approach, this research was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the discussion from the research show that, in the implementation of their roles and participation in forming and increasing environmental awareness by teachers, students are well implemented. Most of them have a caring attitude to their environment, which is proven by their daily habits, which is to dispose of waste according to the space provided. It's just that for minorities who are still indifferent to the environment, support and encouragement from teachers need to be increased so that all madrasa residents, especially students, have positive behavior, be aware and care about the surrounding environmen

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to describe and analize the implementation of holistic education in Amanatul Ummah Islamic Boarding School which is exploring in the terms of educational objectives, curriculum, learning methods, educators and evaluation. This study was uses qualitative approach research with the type of case study. That was describing and analyzing the implementation of holistic education in the Amanatul Islamic Boarding School. Implementation of holistic education in the Amanatul Ummah boarding school were carried out in a strict, responsible and disciplined manner while carrying out all things. The whole educational process from several elements includes: 1) Educational Objectives: the purpose of education in general is to form a whole human being with moral character while specifically covering. Becoming a cleric, a conglomerate, the nation's leader, and be a professional in every fields. 2) curriculum that implemented by using an integrative curriculum between the national curriculum and the standard of Al-Azhar Egypt’s curriculum. 3) Educators are demanded to be professional and has excellent personalities for being a role of models for santri. 4), the methods that applied was various, including traditional methods and contemporary methods. 5). Evaluation: the evaluation was carried out every week, monthly, semester, and yearly. All educational elements are evaluated to realize the Islamic Boarding School's vision and mission. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi pendidikan holistik pesantren Amanatul Ummah yang dieksplorasi dari segi tujuan pendidikan, kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, pendidik dan evaluasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus, yaitu mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis implementasi pendidikan holistik di Pesantren Amanatul Ummah Mojokerto. Hasil penelitian Implementasi pendidikan holistik di pesantren Amanatul Ummah Mojokerto dilaksanakan dengan ketat, bertanggung jawab dan disiplin dalam melaksanakan segala hal. Penerapan proses pendidikan secara utuh dari beberapa elemen meliputi: 1). Tujuan pendidikan secara umum adalah membentuk manusia utuh yang berakhlakul karimah sedangkan secara khusus meliputi. Menjadi ulama`, menjadi konglomerat, menjadikan pemimpin bangsa, menjadi profesional di bidangnya. 2) kurikulum yang diimplementasikan menggunakan kurikulum integratif antara kurikulum nasional dengan kurikulum muadalah berstandar Al-Azhar Mesir. 3) Pendidik dituntut untuk profesional dan memiliki kepribadian yang mantap agar menjadi teladan bagi santri. 4), metode yang diterapkan bervariasi meliputi metode tradisional dan metode kontemporer. 5). Evaluasi: pelaksanaan evaluasi dilakukan setiap mingguan, bulanan, per semester, dan tahunan. Semua elemen pendidikan dievaluasi untuk mewujudkan visi-misi pesantren.

As we move towards the third decade of the 21st century, the development of emerging technologies continues to grow alongside innovative practices in digital media environments. This chapter presents a comparative case study of two teams (Team A and Team B) in a professional master's program during a 13-week, project-based course. Based on the role of documentation and the reflective practitioner, team blogs representing learner experiences of Agile practices were analyzed. This case study chapter focused on one blog post of a mid-term release retrospective. The results of this case study are framed around Derby and Larson's (2006) Agile retrospectives framework, including: set the stage, gather data, generating insights, deciding what to do, and closing the retrospective. The case study results suggest the need for public documentation of retrospectives and how this can be challenging with non-disclosure agreements. Also, the authors identify the importance of being a reflective practitioner. Future research on educational and professional practices needs to be explored.

In Britain, by 2015, Web 2.0 had become a more widely accepted and established mode of civic engagement of which political e-participation became an observable extension. However, in the run-up to 2010, social media were newer, less understood and largely associated with younger generations. These changes present questions about how wider technocultural developments impacted political engagement between the 2010 and 2015 UK general elections. This article aims to go some way in examining this question with a theoretical focus on the role of Facebook as a driver of change in political organisation. Using the British Conservative Party as a case study, the article analyses and compares events, observations and shifting power relations associated with digital technology and organisational change observed over two election cycles spanning from 2005 to 2015. A focal aim is to examine changes in Conservative Party campaigns and organisation in order to contribute to wider debates about the impact of digital technology in changing the organisation and activities of actors, like political parties and political participants, in democratic contexts. The article concludes that a complex combination of internal and external, technological and human, and grassroots and centralised factors played roles in changing the Conservative Party.

This article explores how Twitter has emerged as a signifier of contemporary protest. Using the concept of ‘social media imaginaries’, a derivative of the broader field of ‘media imaginaries’, our analysis seeks to offer new insights into activists’ relation to and conceptualisation of social media and how it shapes their digital media practices. Extending the concept of media imaginaries to include analysis of protestors’ use of aesthetics, it aims to unpick how a particular ‘social media imaginary’ is constructed and informs their collective identity. Using the Gezi Park protest of 2013 as a case study, it illustrates how social media became a symbolic part of the protest movement by providing the visualised possibility of imagining the movement. In previous research, the main emphasis has been given to the functionality of social media as a means of information sharing and a tool for protest organisation. This article seeks to redress this by directing our attention to the role of visual communication in online protest expressions and thus also illustrates the role of visual analysis in social movement studies.

AbstractThe online public sphere, and the ways in which its digital media platforms influence discourse, is a crucial but understudied area of research in the six Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf. Through a case study of the ongoing Gulf diplomatic crisis, which began in June 2017, this essay draws on the disciplines of political science, communication, and digital media studies to analyze qualitative examples of digital discourse: the role of women, territorial boundaries, and the FIFA World Cup 2022. Linking these flash points to historical struggles between the countries, this essay suggests that the politicization of the online public sphere in the region does not represent a fundamental change in the diplomacy of the region but rather a new battleground for old regional rivalries.

Investigated are possibilities and features of using the iterative approach, when teaching at university. The article reviews and analyzes data of scientific publications and generalized practical experience. It is shown, that the iterative approach naturally follows from modern teaching concept: “self-study — solution — check — correction”. The importance of closing feedback loop and multiple attempts to obtain correct solution in an iterative approach is noted. Considered is change in the role of teacher in the context of the iterative approach; features of self-study by students of educational material, organization of checking correctness of the task, problems of creating necessary motivation for learning and possibility of transition to distance learning. It is shown, that the iterative approach contributes to individualization of teaching, improving degree of understanding of educational material and development of students’ thinking. In addition, the iterative approach facilitates formation of skills and abilities to rationally organize educational activities and self-master knowledge. The conclusion is made about effectiveness of using the iterative approach in university educational process.

The purpose of this study was to find out the role of the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School in the Pangkalan Susu District of Langkat in the Form of Santri Character The approach used is case study. The object of this research is religious Islamic education institutions. Data sources are people who are directly and indirectly involved with pesantren. To collect these data, the author uses several techniques in data collection, namely documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis in research uses interpretive patterns that aim to achieve a correct understanding of facts, data and symptoms. In this study researchers focused on two curricula, namely the pesantren curriculum and the general education curriculum. used in the Darusa'dah Islamic Boarding School which is related to character formation. The Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School curriculum accommodates students who focus on learning two curricula, namely the pesantren curriculum and the general education curriculum. The pesantren curriculum material taught is sourced from the yellow book which includes; religious laws, monotheism, morals and Arabic. The education curriculum of the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School is focused on the teaching of the Koran, hadith and the books written by the previous ulama. Educational material is presented based on class. The pesantren curriculum and general education curriculum are taught in the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School, as well as forming the character of the santri.
