While analysing theoretical presumptions of educational methods, it has been noticed that personality’s development is validated by the conference as a method. This method stimulates support of active relationships among the participants of education process involving personal experiences. Conference as an education method involves learning process of multidimensional environment that includes various types of digital media such as text, image, sound, video that are integrated into one presentation. Conference as education method highlights the division between pupil-centred vs. teacher-centred conceptions. A pupil as a central figure creates conditions for pupils to communicate with each other without teacher’s positioning in the education process. Pupils and teachers of Šilutė Martynas Jankus primary school organise events dedicated to the Earth Day. One of the events is conference. Conference activities, presentations, community’s involvement into the educational process stimulate social communication; the education process becomes important not only to its participants, but also to the whole community increasing the engagement to solve nature problems. Keywords: conference as education method, primary school pupils, Earth Day, nature lessons.

Distance learning is the process of acquiring knowledge, abilities, skills and methods of human cognitive activity, it occurs mainly through the indirect interaction of participants in the educational process distant from each other in a specialized environment, it functions on the basis of modern psychological, pedagogical and information and communication technologies. In today’s world, distance learning is a must. This was shown by the existing COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of our work was to present teaching methods at the Department of Orthodontics of the Ukrainian Medical Dental Academy and to determine the advantages and disadvantages of distance education. To present theoretical and practically oriented content, organize independent work and control knowledge during quarantine, the possibilities of distance learning were used using the Google Classroom web service and using the ZOOM platform, Google-meet, which made it possible to use video, photographic materials, tables, control and diagnostic models, panoramic and other images, orthodontic appliances, orthodontic instruments. Distance learning technology is flexible than traditional. This is its advantage. It is aimed at those who study, creates a comfortable environment for the applicant for higher education to master the material 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Distance learning allows you to move away from the traditional system of teaching educational material. However, this teaching methodology requires a high level of teacher training. The teacher must have modern pedagogical and information technologies and be psychologically ready to work with applicants for education in a new educational and cognitive environment. The distance form of education must correspond to the methods of teaching in higher medical school. So, the material and technical clinical base of the Department of Orthodontics of the UMCA allows you to provide high-quality online training. But the spread of COVID-19 leads to day-to-day changes in all spheres of life, including healthcare, and the education system.

This article considers the issue of accustoming primary school students to research activities and basically focuses on information technology, which is the main tool for increasing cognitive activity. We define joint creative activities of teacher and student, which are carried out in seeking the solution of the unknown problem defined as an academic goal of students, and as a result of which cultural values are passed on as research activities. In this case, the teacher acts as the organiser of the forms and situations of research activity. It is insufficient for school children just to make a decision in solving the problems occurring in academic goals, the results achieved in the implementation process should be helpful for someone. From this point of view, the issue of molding a motivation, which permanently leads the student to master study-research skills, will be on the agenda.
