The article presents structural models of terminological phrases from the subject area “Welding” as the basis for creating automated tools to mark up the corpus of scientific and technical texts. The place of scientific and technical corpora in corpus linguistics and the prospects for their further research are outlined. The relevance of the research stems from the need to create corpora of scientific and technical texts in general and to provide tools for automatic detection of terms in particular. It is substantiated that the main problem in designing such corpora is the automatic markup of terminological phrases. The analysis of the current state of the term system of the subject area “Welding” has been carried out. The results of the analysis of two-, three-, four- and five-component terminological phrases of “Welding” and their structural models are presented and illustrated by examples. The necessity of listing all possible structural models of terminological combinations has been substantiated too. It has been established that the addition of a new component to the basic terminological combination most often occurs with introduction of one more postpositional at-tribute whose function is to add some specific feature to the basic meaning. The novelty of the study is seen in providing a theoretical approach for the formation of a database of structural models of terminological phrases which may be used as a core of a supersource database on the structure of the multicomponent scientific and technical terms. An approach to automatic markup of multicomponent terms is proposed too. It will be also helpful in future corpus research for identification of candidate word combinations as scientific and technical terms.

A set of questionnaire was designed to study the current state of requirement reuse practices in Malaysia. This paper describes the design of the survey on requirement reuse practice instrument, and the assessment of its reliability and validity. Cronbach’s Alpha test was used to check on its reliability and respondents’ feedback, to assess the level of understanding, the level of difficulty in responding and the level of relevancy to the subject area including the duration taken to complete the questionnaire. Results from the feedback suggested three main issues that need to be looked upon as a way to improve the instrument design. Future efforts will focus on improving the structure and contents of the questionnaire in order to achieve higher reliability and better number of responses to study on requirement reuse. Keywords—requirement reuse, requirement, engineering, software development, survey design

Any theory assumes the presence of its terminological apparatus – a language that is created to solve specific scientific problems and is designed to describe the relevant subject area; in criminalistics, it also serves as an effective means of thinking, should be highly specialised to reproduce the uniqueness of the subject of study, which actualises the study in this direction. Scientific approaches to the formation of the criminalistics’ language, its conceptual and terminological apparatus, through which this science describes its subject of study, were considered. It is emphasised that the development of science is determined primarily by the formation of its language as a system of general and individual concepts, which are reflected in certain terms, signs. It was stated that the criminalistics’ language is a complex, multilevel, holistic system, the elements of which are categories, concepts, terms, signs, symbols. Attention is drawn to the fact that during the development of criminalistics there is a continuous improvement of its language, clarification of definitions, enrichment of the terminological dictionary (thesaurus). It was noted that the current state of development of criminalistics, the formation of promising doctrines (theories) necessitated the introduction into its scientific apparatus of a large number of new concepts, terms, signs, through the use of various linguistic approaches, terminological elements, lexical units. The innovations concern not only the general theory of criminalistics, but also its main sections – techniques, tactics and methods. In this case, the criminalistics’ language, its conceptual and terminological apparatus must develop under certain criteria and conditions defined in both special and forensic literature. The rejection of traditional approaches to the definition of certain forensic concepts, the desire for innovation and unification always require special care and comprehensive justification.

This article is part of a research project on the metatheoretical assumptions in Practical Theology. The first part of this series gives the theoretical foundation for the view on reality-, hermeneutical- and scientific-theoretical approaches to the research field. The second part focuses on the effect that these assumptions will have on the scientific research of the various subject groups in Practical Theology. This article describes the scientific approach to the research field of child and youth ministry. This research article describes the personal metatheoretical perspective from which the subject area is approached, and it gives account of the view on reality with which the research field of Youth Ministry is studied; of the foundation on which the hermeneutical viewpoint is built, to attain an understanding and a founded relationship between the elements that are applicable in child and youth ministry; and finally, the scientific theoretical approach to the research field in a justified manner.

The project aims to solve the fundamental scientific problem of semantic modeling, within the framework of which a methodology is developed for the automated identification of translation links (translation correspondences), as well as hierarchical, synonymous and associative links from Internet texts and the construction of multilingual associative hierarchical portraits of subject area (MAHPSA), in particular, on autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicles (UUV). Accounting for multilingual and heterogeneous resources allows you to get a more complete picture of what is happening in the subject area, to identify the sources of the origin of ideas, the speed and directions of their distribution, to identify significant documents and promising directions. The solution to the problem is based on an integrated approach that combines the methods of statistics, corpus linguistics and distributive semantics, and is implemented in technology that involves the development of linguo-statistical mechanisms for the formation of a multilingual associative hierarchical portrait of a subject area, which is a dictionary of significant terms of the subject area, the elements of which organized in synonymous series (synsets), including translational correspondences, as well as associative and hierarchical relationships.

The book under review is a compilation of the author's articles and lectures that highlight the prominent developments in the literature on the subject of Islamic banking and inform the reader of the current state of debate on it. One of the earliest and main contributors to this topic is the author himself. The focus of this review will mainly be on "Economics of Profit-Sharing", which is the title of the fourth chapter of the book and is among his latest contributions. This chapter is a significant contribution as it is the first attempt to formalise the concept of profit sharing into an analytical model and, therefore, demands closer scrutiny. However, in the remaining chapters of the book, the author has drawn attention to some of the fine points made in the literature on this topic. Since some of these points appear to be controversial to me, I will briefly discuss them before moving on to the analytical chapter of the book.

The article analyzes the philosophical and cultural view of “doctor’s professional culture” as a result of centuries-old practice of human relations, which is characterized by constancy and passed from generation to generation. Medicine is a complex system in which an important role is played by: philosophical outlook of a doctor, philosophical culture, ecological culture, moral culture, aesthetic culture, artistic culture. We have found that within the system “doctor-patient” the degree of cultural proximity becomes a factor that influences the health or life of a patient. Thus, the following factors are important here: 1) communication that suppresses a sick person; 2) the balance of cultural and intellectual levels; 3) the cultural environment of a patient which has much more powerful impact on a patient than the medical one.At the present stage, the interdependence of professional and humanitarian training of future specialists is predominant, as a highly skilled specialist can not but become a subject of philosophizing. We outlined the sphere where the doctors present a genre variety of philosophizing (philosophical novels, apologies, dialogues, diaries, aphorisms, confessions, essays, etc.). This tradition represents the original variations in the formation of future doctor’s communicative competences, which are formed in the process of medical students’ professional training.A survey conducted among medical students made it possible to establish their professional values, which are indicators of the formation of philosophical and culturological competence. It was found out that 92% of respondents believed that a doctor should demonstrate a high level of health culture (avoid drinking and smoking habits, etc.)99% of respondents favoured a high level of personal qualities of a doctor which would allow methods and forms of medical practice to assert higher human ideals of truth, goodness and beauty that are the subject area of cultural studies and philosophy.
