Today Stress is a part of our daily life work. Stress free life is nearly impossible to all people. But management of stress can be life easeful to live. Spiritual counseling can be one of the best tools for stress management. This research explores the effectiveness of spiritual counseling on stress level among college going students. Two group pre-post designs were used on Sample of 50 (25 in experimental and 25 in control group) college students. They were selected by incidental sampling method from the various colleges of Chhattisgarh. The age of the subjects ranged from 18 to 22 years. The experimental group was regularly exposed to Therapeutic intervention for 45 days. During this intervention the researcher discussed the problems with students & suggested them with solution through the reference of “Amritwani” heard every day. Data were collected through the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) by “Cohen”. For Statistical analysis of data “t-test.” Used. Results indicate highly significant effect of spiritual counseling on stress of college going students at 0.01 level of confidence.

ABSTRACT Objective: to evaluate the effect of progressive muscle relaxation as a nursing procedure on the levels of stress for sufferers of multiple sclerosis. Method: random clinical trials conducted at the Neurology outpatients unit at a University Hospital. The sample consisted of 40 patients who were being monitored as outpatients (20 in a control group and 20 in an experimental group). The Progressive Muscle Relaxation technique was used. The control variables were collected through interviews that were recorded on forms and on the Perceived Stress Scale that we used. Five meetings were held every fortnight covering a period of eight weeks. The experimental group was advised to carry out daily progressive muscle relaxation activities. After eight weeks of these activities, they were evaluated again to measure their levels of stress. In order to analyze the data used, the software package Statistics for Social Sciences version 19.0 was used. Results: the application of the t test showed a significant reduction in the Perceived Stress Scale scores in the experimental group (p<0.001), which in turn proved that there was a reduction in the levels of stress after the application of the relaxation practic-es. Conclusion: the progressive muscle relaxation activities contributed to the reduction in stress levels for multiple sclerosis suffers and thus can be used in nursing for patients. This study aimed validate the Italian version of the Professional Stress Scale (PSS). A questionnaire was translated into Italian and administered to two sample groups. The first group (n = 200) was the control group and the second (n = 1137) the experimental group. The participants in the study were students enrolled in a special needs training teacher course or a specialization course that aims to train support teachers. The study conducted two analyses; factor and reliability analyses. The factor analysis utilized the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test which had a result of 0.925 for the scale; this was above the acceptable value of 0.7. The research studied 33 items and the BTS was significant for the 33 items scale (χ2 (528) = 4353.508, p < 0.001). Moreover, five eigenvalues greater than 1 were identified in the data, whereas the total variance explained was 63.7%. The reliability test utilized the Cronbach’s Alpha score (0.936) of the scale and the value is calculated based on the response of 1106 individuals. The value is well above the value of 0.80, which indicates a high internal consistency level of the different items of the scale. This study showed that the Italian version of the PSS is a reliable and valid measure that can be used for research and clinical purposes.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of positive learning on happiness, Aggression and hope for adolescents with leukemia in Ahvaz. The sample consisted of 30 people who were selected by available sampling method. 15 subjects in the experimental group and 15 in the control group were randomly assigned. The experimental design was a pre-test-post-test type with control group and follow-up period. Measurement tools included Oxford Happiness Inventory (Argyle, 1989); Ahwaz's Aggression Questionnaire (Zahedifar, Najarian, and Shokrkon, 2000); Hope Scale (Schneider, 1991). To run, at first, the pre-test was taken from both groups. Then, the experimental group was trained in 14 sessions of 90 minutes, and after each group, they were subjected to post-test. And one month later, the follow-up process was completed. Data analysis was performed using multivariate covariance analysis (MANCOVA) and one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results showed that positive attitudes toward happiness, aggressiveness and hopefulness of adolescents with leukemia in Ahvaz were effective.

This study tried find the students’ improvement in listening achievement after having taught by using the shadowing technique. The method used was a quasi-experimental that involved two groups, namely the control group and experimental group. The population of this study was all the tenth graders of SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung with a total number of 198 tenth graders. Purposive sampling method was applied to select the sample involved 72 tenth graders. In collecting the data, try out the test was used to get the desirable questions that would be used in the pretest and posttest to both groups in the control and experimental group. To verify the hypothesis, the normality and homogeneity of the data were firstly analyzed before being continued to be analyzed by using a t-test. Based on the result of data analysis in an independent sample t-test, there were some findings found. First, the mean score of a posttest (75.56) in the experimental group was higher than the pretest (69.03) in the control group. Secondly, the value of tobtained was 2.77 at the significant level of p<0.05 in two-tailed testing with df = 70, the critical value of ttable was 1.99. Since the value of tobtained was higher than ttable, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the research hypothesis was accepted. In conclusion, it showed that the shadowing technique could improve the tenth-grade students’ listening achievement at SMA Negeri 3 Unggulan Kayuagung.

Stress refers to the situation of excess or deficit of one’s resources in certain circumstances. The state of stress is very much common among students, especially college going students who had to deal with numerous stressors in their daily lives. To conquer such stressful situation, counseling and its related intervention programme plays a vital role. Counseling refers to a systematic and professional relationship between a professional (Counselor or Psychologist) and a sufferer (Client) in which several techniques are collectively applied to resolve client’s stressful issues. The aim of this research is to study the level of stress reduction with the help of PMR and Talk therapy among college students. A standardized stress scale namely ‘Perceived Stress Scale’ develop by Sheldon Cohen which is possessing high reliability and validity was conducted on 60 college students. Out of them, 30 students were in control and 30 were in experimental group. Furthermore, it was found that students belonging to experimental group were given a proper counseling programme of 5 sessions including PMR and Talk therapy and this result in significant difference at 0.01 level and ultimately leads to reduced stress level as compared to control group. It was found that there is a there is a positive relationship between PMR & Talk therapy and stress reduction of college students.

One of the factors that negatively affect the human body is susceptibility to stress. The inability to react to negative emotions and reduce tensions in the body causes many negative symptoms that affect people every day. A relaxing massage is one of the ways to reduce stress levels. The aim of the study was to attempt to assess the effect of a relaxing massage on the level of stress in women aged 25-45 years. The research group consisted of 60 women. The research group underwent a proprietary relaxing massage, while the control group used manicures or pedicures. As the research method an original questionnaire and the PSS-10 (Perceived Stress Scale) was used. The subjective assessment of the level of stress based on the proprietary survey and the PSS-10 questionnaire among the respondents after the relaxing massage was statistically signifi cantly lower. How ever, no statistically signifi cant differences in the decrease in stress levels were found between the two groups. On the other hand, a statistically signifi cant relationship between education and the level of stress was proved. Subjects with lower education were characterized by a higher level of stress.

Academic demands including examinations are found to bethe major contributor of stress development among students.Current research is purposed to investigate the prevalence ofperceived stress level among Madrasah Aliyah studentsduring examination week. This study was a descriptive andcross-sectional design applying quantitative method for datacollection. With respect to the sample, 107 students formMadrasah Aliyah Pasirjambu, Kab. Bandung wereproportionally selected from class 10 to class 12. To measurethe degree to which particular situations and conditionshappening in student’s life are appraised or perceived asstressful situation, Perceived Stress Scale developed bySheldon Cohen was administered. After which, havinggained ethical approval from the foundation board andschool director, the data were collected and analyzed usingstatistical program of SPSS. Result showed that duringexamination, majority of them were experiencing moderatelevel of stress accounting for more than 80% and nosignificant differences of stress level were found withrespect to gender, age and study year (class).

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat stres remaja dan kebutuhan untuk mengembangkan video tutorial mindfulness-breathing meditation sebagai strategi dalam mengurangi stres remaja. Convenience sampling yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data pada 165 peserta didik. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah perceived stress scale (PSS) dan studi kebutuhan video mindfulness-breathing meditation. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat stres remaja yang tinggi (27 dari skor total 40). Perempuan memiliki tingkat stres yang lebih tinggi daripada laki-laki (27,2 vs 26,6), persentase perempuan yang mengalami stres tingkat tinggi lebih banyak daripada laki-laki (54,1%vs 41,3%). Meskipun prevalensi stres sangat tinggi di kalangan remaja, sebagian besar peserta didik sangat minim memiliki paparan materi mengenai cara mengurangi stres (80,15%) serta mengenai latihan bernafas dengan baik. Peserta didik juga sangat antusias untuk mempelajari meditasi pernafasan melalui video (100%). Diketahui juga bahwa pengembangan video mindfulness-breathing meditation sangat penting untuk membantu peserta didik dalam mengurangi stres mereka. Kata Kunci: Stres, Remaja, Mindfulness, Breathing Meditation   Abstract This research aims to determine the stress level of adolescents and the need to develop a mindfulness-breathing meditation video as a strategy to reduce adolescents’ stress. The convenience sampling was used to collect data form was 165 students. The measures are the perceived stress scale (PSS) and the needs of mindfulness-breathing meditation video. The results shows that the adolescent’ stress level is high (27 out of 40). Female has higher level stress than male (27,2 vs 26,6), the percentage of female who experience high level stress was outnumber male (54,1% vs 41,3%). Despite the high prevalence of stress among adolescent, most of students has minimum exposure to stress reduction (80,15%) as well as breathing exercises. All students enthusiastic to learn mindfulness-breathing meditation through video. It is recommended that development of mindfulness-breathing meditation video is crucial to help students in reducing their stress. Keywords: Stress, Adolescent, Mindfulness, Breathing Meditation

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program (MBSR) of Kabat-Zinn includes a combination of sitting meditation, yoga, and walking; thus, movement is not emphasized primarily to induce a state of awareness. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a Mindfulness-Based Movement Program (MBM) in women on parameters of stress and coping; that is, in contrast to MBSR, MBM primarily emphasized yoga to cultivate awareness. This study investigated: (a) an objective measure of stress (the cortisol response to a laboratory stressor) following an 8-week MBM in year 1 participants only (n = 17; MBM group = 9; Control group = 8); (b) subjective measures of stress following an 8-week MBM in years 1 and 2 (n = 32; MBM = 16; C = 16); and (c) changes in coping style following an 8- week MBM in years 1 and 2 (n = 32; MBM = 16; C = 16). A mixed plot 2 (Group: TC or MBM) by 5 (Trial: Baseline, Stressor, Recovery 1, Recovery 2, and Recovery 3) repeated measures ANOVA was run for cortisol. Preliminary results indicated a strong trend towards a lowered cortisol response for the MBM group compared to the control group. A mixed plot 2 (Group: TC or MBM) by 2 (Time: Pretest, Post-test) repeated measures ANOVA was run for Spielberg's State Anxiety, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Problem Focused Style of Coping Scale for the Suppressive, Reflective, and the Reactive Coping Style. There were significant main effects for time, group, and an interaction of time and group for Spielberg's State Anxiety and the Perceived Stress Scale. Significant differences were also found for time and the interaction of time and group for the Problem Focused Style of Coping for the Reflective Coping Style (p &lt; 0.05). In conclusion, results indicate positive effects of the MBM program on perceived measures of stress and coping style in women.

Abstract This study investigated stress levels of pre-service teachers (PSTs) across three categories of teaching context: early childhood, primary and secondary. This paper focused on exploring the stressors in the completion of tasks in teaching practicum in the three categories of teaching context and an awareness of and access to support systems. The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and an online questionnaire were used to measure the nature and level of stress. Significant results were found in relation to the school climate and the stress levels of PSTs across the three different teaching contexts. These findings have implications in terms of understanding different PSTs’ stress levels across the three teaching contexts and ways they could be supported to reduce their stress level and achieve better study outcomes.
