The present study deals with gender difference in job satisfaction among the employees of Information Technology (IT) sector. Attempts were also made to assess their level of happiness, quality of interpersonal relationship and coping style. The sample size was 50 divided into 2 groups (male- 25 and female- 25). Each group was consisted respondents age ranging between 22-35 years and having minimum 2 years of job experience. The data were collected from several private sectors IT companies of west Bengal. Job satisfaction scale, Oxford happiness inventory, interpersonal relationship inventory and coping checklist II were administered to assess the level of job satisfaction, level of happiness quality of interpersonal relationship and coping style. It is revealed that female employees were found to be more satisfied than male employees in their job and in case of the other variables an opposite result was found. No significant difference between the two gender has been revealed in the selected variables. Furthermore, no significant correlation has been found between job satisfaction and the other selected variables for the present sample. The results of the present study can be fruitful for further research studies.

The present study deals with gender difference in job satisfaction among the doctors of west bengal. Attempts were also made to assess their subjective sense of well being and the level of happiness. The sample size was 110 divided into 2 groups (male- 67 and female- 43). Each group was consisted respondents age ranging between 22-35 years and having minimum 2 years of job experience. The data were collected from several public sector hospitals of west bengal. Job satisfaction scale, Subjective well being inventory and Oxford happiness inventory were administered to assess the level of job satisfaction, subjective sense of well being and level of happiness. It is revealed that female doctors were found to be more satisfied than male doctors  in their job and in case of subjective sense of well being and level of happiness the same result has been found. A significant difference between the gender has been revealed in subjective sense of well being, level of happiness and level of job satisfaction as well. Furthermore, significant correlation has been found between job satisfaction and level of happiness for the entire group of selected sample and a significant correlation could not be drawn between job satisfaction and subjective sense of well being for the present sample. The results of the present study can be fruitful for further research studies.

LPDs are non-bank financial institutions that are regulated and approved by the Regional Regulations of the Province of Bali. The management of LPD is fully handed over to the relevant Pakraman village. In line with the rapid development of LPDs, it turns out that on the other hand it shows diverse performance, so that LPDs need to pay attention to the level of product quality and customer interest in the products offered.            The purpose of the study was to determine the comparison of product quality and interest in saving at the Tajun Traditional Village LPD with the Traditional Village of Tegal. The number of samples from Tajun Adat Village LPD was 98 people and the LPD of Tegal Traditional Village was 84 people. The research data were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the quality of the products of the Adat Village of Tajun LPD and the Traditional Village of Tegal. This difference is indicated by indicators of physical evidence, reliability, responsiveness and empathy. The product quality of Tajun Adat Village's LPD is better than the traditional village of Tegal. There is a significant difference between the interest in saving the traditional village of Tajun LPD and the traditional village of Tegal. The difference is in the indicator of confidence. Interest in Saving Tajun Indigenous Village LPD is higher than the Traditional Village of Tegal.

This study aimed to examine the effect of changes in status, employee engagement, and the utilization of information technology on the quality of financial reporting. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to examine changes in the status of Bogor Agricultural University. Moreover we employ a multiple regression analysis to examine the effect of employee engagement and information technology in performance financial of report.  In addition, Ultrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES) was used to examine the financial human resource mapping. The results of ANOVA test showed that there was no significant difference of the financial management of Bogor Agricultural University before and after the implementation of Public Service Board (BLU). Furthermore, multiple linear regression test results showed that the factors that affect the performance of financial reports are employee engagement and use of information technology. However, it is found that the factor that really affects the performace of financial reports is the use of information technology. Finally, the test results of the mapping showed that employee engagement of human resources staff of Bogor Agricultural University are in medium position indicating that it needs to be maintained and improved.

Abstract Objective - This study compared the quality and helpfulness of traditional book review sources with the online user rating system in Amazon.com in order to determine if one mode is superior to the other and should be used by library selectors to assist in making purchasing decisions. Methods - For this study, 228 reviews of 7 different novels were analyzed using a content analysis approach. Of these, 127 reviews came from traditional review sources and 101 reviews were published on Amazon.com. Results - Using a checklist developed for this study, a significant difference in the quality of reviews was discovered. Reviews from traditional sources scored significantly higher than reviews from Amazon.com. The researcher also looked at review length. On average, Amazon.com reviews are shorter than reviews from traditional sources. Review rating—favourable, unfavourable, or mixed/neutral—also showed a lack of consistency between the two modes of reviews. Conclusion - Although Amazon.com provides multiple reviews of a book on one convenient site, traditional sources of professionally written reviews would most likely save librarians more time in making purchasing decisions, given the higher quality of the review assessment.

Objective: Most psychosocial interventions among individuals with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) target depressive symptoms (DSs) rather than causal antecedents that lead to DSs or affect health-related quality of life (HrQoL). This research investigated a conceptual model of the effects of risk factors and coping styles on HrQoL and DSs in patients with T2DM. Method: A descriptive, correlational design was used with a convenience sample of 241 adults with T2DM aged ≥ 20 years recruited from a hospital metabolic outpatient department. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire, the modified Ways of Coping Checklist, the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, the Short Form 36 Health Survey, and physiological examination. HbA1C was collected from participants’ medical records. Structural equation modeling techniques were used to analyze relationships among risk factors, mediators, and HrQoL. Results: Younger age, more education, and longer duration of diabetes predicted better physical quality of life. Duration of diabetes and three coping styles predicted DSs. Longer duration of diabetes and lower fasting glucose predicted better mental quality of life. Three coping styles acted as mediators between risk factors and health, that is, active and minimizing styles promoted positive outcomes, while avoidance promoted negative outcomes. Conclusions: This integrated model provides a holistic picture of how risk factors and coping style influence HrQoL and DSs in individuals with T2DM. Nurses could use active coping strategies in cognitive behavioral therapy to enhance glycemic control in patients with T2DM.

The contribution of the physiologic and cognitive processes is important for increasing the quality of the education and occupational productivity. The new researches done indicate that exercising frequency and emotional intelligence level have precious contributions on the occupational performances of the individuals. The purpose of this research was determined as evaluating the sporting situation and emotional intelligence levels of adults in different occupational groups. 586 individuals participated in the research, who works in various professions in Bartın Province. The information on the participant group and the other variables of the research was analyzed via descriptive statistic techniques. For evaluating the data, SPSS 21.0 package software was used and for analyzing the data, descriptive statistics, independent t-test and one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) techniques were used. As a result of the data obtained, no significant difference was encountered in the emotional intelligence sub-dimensions and total scores depending on the sporting situation of the participants (p > 0.05). As a result of the analyses done for the gender variable, significant differences were obtained on behalf of the women and it was seen that emotional intelligence total scores of the female workers are higher compared with the male workers (p < 0.05). For the finding where the relations between age variable and emotional intelligence was evaluated, it was seen that there is a significant decrease in the emotional intelligence level with the increase in age (p < 0.05). This decrease was tried to be explained with occupational exhaustion. At the same time, the finding was arrived that the total emotional intelligence scores of the participants who work as teacher, compared with the other professions, is higher with a significant level compared with the other profession groups (p < 0.05). The findings of the research were discussed in the light of the literature and recommendations were offered for contributing to the new researches to be made.

The hiring and retention of IT personnel has remained a top priority for managers given the increasingly important role that information technology plays in the success of virtually all companies today. In this chapter, through a series of case studies, we report on a set of best practices that are designed to help organizations develop strategy, recruit, hire, develop, compensate, and ultimately retain valued IT personnel. In addition, a model is presented that describes the key drivers of job satisfaction, and ultimately determine turnover. It is suggested that the relative importance of these drivers, which include the quality of management, work attributes, compensation, and career development, will change for employees over time. Therefore, managing these drivers using the identified best practices can significantly assist organizations in attracting and retaining IT personnel.

Every college and university in the United States (US) is discovering exciting new ways of using information technology to enhance the process of teaching and learning, and to extend access to new populations of students. For most institutions, however, new technologies represent a black hole of additional expense. Most campuses have simply bolted new technologies onto a fixed plant, a fixed faculty and a fixed notion of classroom instruction. Under these circumstances, technology becomes part of the problem of rising costs rather than part of the solution. In addition, comparative research studies show that rather than improving quality, most technology-based courses produce learning outcomes that are simply “as good as” their traditional counterparts — what often is referred to as the “no significant difference” phenomenon. By and large, colleges and universities have not yet begun to realize the promise of technology to improve the quality of student learning and reduce the costs of instruction.

We measured staff members’ satisfaction with their work before and after increased information technology (IT) support in dementia care. Comparisons were also performed of perceived life satisfaction and sense of coherence. Data were collected before, and 6 and 12 months after implementation of the first part of an IT support project. Instruments used were the Satisfaction with Work Questionnaires, the Life Satisfaction Questionnaire (LSQ) and the Sense of Coherence (SOC) scale. The study was performed in a residential home for persons with dementia. The participants were 33 staff members. The IT technology included general and individualized passage alarms, sensor-activated night-time illumination, fall detectors and Internet communication. Results showed that staff members’ job satisfaction and perceived quality of care improved in comparison with the control group. Personal development, workload, expectations and demands, internal motivation and documentation, as well as the total scores for ‘psychosocial aspects of job satisfaction’ and ‘quality of care aspects’, increased in the experimental group. There were significant interaction effects for the factors family relation, close friend relation (LSQ), the total SOC scale and the meaningfulness subscale. The study showed that IT support in dementia care increased staff members’ satisfaction with their work in several ways.

During a period of 5 yr, the influence of different forms of N, P, combinations of K and levels of fertilizers on cigarette tobacco production were studied. Potassium nitrate was found to be significantly inferior compared with the other sources of nitrogen. No significant difference was detected between the different sources of phosphorus. The greatest yield but the poorest quality of tobacco was obtained with the highest level of fertilization. Key words: Flue-cured tobacco, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium
