Shuchita AwasthiThe purpose of this study was to assess the effect of different parenting style perceived by the children and its effect on academic achievement. 600 Participants were selected through quota sampling from Various Schools of Lakhimpur-kheri (U.P.). Age related factors treated as control variable. For obtaining the score on perceived parenting style, CPPS (Children’s Perception of Parenting Scale) was used, which has 44 items. It is five point scale based on five options: strongly agree, agree, undecided, disagree and strongly undecided response of Subject Through this scale six modes of parenting has been taken and 100 Participants were selected through quota sampling from Various Schools of Lakhimpur-kheri (U.P.) for each parenting style. Research was based on ex-post facto research design. Statistically analysis was done by paired t test. Results indicate that Accepting Parenting is best among all and children who perceives accepting parenting have high academic achievement.

The purpose of the study is to assess the relationship between locus of control and superstitious behavior of people of UP. 300 participants were selected through quota sampling from various places of UP. Age and education related factors treated as controlled variables. To assess locus of control in subjects Hindi adaptation of “Rotter’s Locus of Control scale” of Dr. Anand Kumar & S.N. Srivastav has been used. It consists of 29 items in it. Superstitious Behavior Scale (self-constructed) has been used, which is consisting of 40 items. Each item have three alternatives: (a) I will definitely do it. (b) If not possible, I will not do it. (c) I don’t believe in it. Ex-post facto research design has been used. Data is analyse by chi-square method. Result show that external locus of control is responsible for high superstitious behavior.

This study is an ex-post facto, with a population of 1,045 students. Research sample of 204 students, which is determined by random cluster sampling technique. To determine the minimum sample size used Solvin formulas. The results showed that most of the students of SMPN in Tapin district has been using information technology in learning IPS that as many as 127 respondents (62.25%) in the medium category. Use of information technology is used as a media / learning aids (57.35%) and as a learning resource (68.63%). Student motivation in the category were as many as 140 students (68.63%) and the achievement of social studies are also in the category of being a total of 143 students (70.10%). The analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between the use of information technology and the learning achievement IPS (r = 0.752, p <0.05), between the students' motivation and academic achievement IPS (r = 0.604, p <0.05) and collectively cooperation between the utilization of information technology and student motivation and academic achievement IPS (r12y = 0.691, p <0.05).Keywords: Utilization of Information Technology, Learning Motivation, Achievement IPS

Aims: To determine gender and faculty of study as predictor of undergraduate students’ academic achievement in tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Study Design:  Ex-post facto research design. Methodology: The sample for the study was 632 100 level students selected using simple random sampling technique of balloting without replacement. These students were selected from tertiary institutions sampled for the study. The data collected were pre-existing results of 100 level students on General mathematics retrieved from the respective departments sampled earlier. Data collected was analyzed using simple regression analysis.    Results: The results of this study revealed that gender of undergraduate students had R2 change of 0.004. This indicates that gender had the predictive power of 0.40 percent for undergraduates’ achievement in General Mathematics. Also, at 1df numerator, 631 df denominator and P=.05, the calculated F value 2.54 is less than the critical F value of 3.84. Therefore, gender of undergraduates in tertiary institutions is not a significant predictor of their achievements in General Mathematics. On the other hand, the results showed that undergraduate students had R2 change of 0.009. This indicates that faculty of study had the predictive power of 0.90 percent for undergraduates academic achievement in General Mathematics. Also, at 1df numerator, 631df denominator and P = .05, the calculated F value 6.78 is greater than the critical F value of 3.84. Therefore, students’ faculty of study in tertiary institutions is a significant predictor of their achievements in General Mathematics. Conclusion: Based on the analysis carried out, it was concluded that gender of undergraduates in tertiary institutions is not a significant predictor of their achievement in General Mathematics. On the contrary, students’ faculty of study in tertiary institutions was found to be a significant predictor of their achievements in General Mathematics.

Visibility ultimately increases citation counts as well as improving the research productivity of researchers. Analyzing the e-visibility status of faculties in Africa using Google Scholar Citation index as a yardstick is the objective of the study. Comparative causal- effect Ex Post Facto research design was employed in to achieving the desired objectives. With an estimate of eight hundred and forty-three thousand, five hundred (843, 500) academic staff in various African Universities as the population of the study; One thousand, six hundred and sixty-seven (1,667) academic staff was sampled from ten (10) universities. Two universities from each region of West Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa, North Africa and Central Africa that have GSC accounts formed the bases of the sample. Purposive quota sampling technique was used to select faculties who have account with google scholar that provides individual statistics of citation counts. Data was collected strictly using google scholar database. Google scholar database provided information on paper citation counts. Data was analyzed as follows: the research questions were analyzed using mean and standard deviation while One-way Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the hypotheses. Among the findings were that University of Cape Town, University of Pretoria, Cairo University and University of Nairobi are most e-visible universities, also citation indexes of faculties among African universities are statistically significant. The study also established the importance of GSC as an open access source that can be utilized to evaluate and improve productivity and visibility of African faculties so recommended same researchers in Africa to take advantage of.

Purpose – The purpose of this study is to examine records management practices as factors influencing the administration of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Design/methodology/approach – The study adopted the causal-comparative research design of the ex post facto type. The multi-stage sampling technique was used to select the sample for the study. A four-point Likert scale questionnaire that ranged from strongly disagree, disagree, agree and strongly agree was used to collect data. Three research questions were raised and answered. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings – The outcome shows the various records management practices that the Church engaged in which include the creation, maintenance, ease of access to, use, preservation and final disposal of the records. Other findings of the study also revealed the joint influence (positive relationship) of records management practices (records creation, use, maintenance and retention or disposal) on the administration of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) to be significant which follows that there is a significant positive relationship between records management practices and administration of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). Also, it is only record use (β = 0.27; t = 5.53; p < 0.05) that has a significant relative influence on the Church of Nigeria’s (Anglican Communion) administration. Others like record creation or received (β = 0.02; t = 0.28; p > 0.05), records maintenance (β = −0.06; t = −0.93; p > 0.05) and records retention or disposal (β = 0.11; t = 1.76; p > 0.05) have no significant influence on the church administration. Therefore, it is only records use that can predict or influence the administration of Anglican Church positively. Originality/value – The study is the original findings of the authors.

The rising tide of aging citizens globally suggests a compelling argument for increasing understanding of factors impacting retirement. Factors such as health and finance have been identified as principal, but these results generally apply to homogenous groups with little reference to the impact of culture and tradition. This study adopted an ex post-facto, cross-sectional, self-reporting survey from working faith-based ministers in Australia and New Zealand to ascertain personal and professional factors affecting retirement perception in specific context including results for age-related differences. Results from four areas of foci show participants generally regarded retirement as a positive season. They were, however, less confident about their preparedness and mostly dissatisfied with the level of planning for retirement. Significant differences were noted in age-related groups with health and financial considerations constituting the primary differences. Increased understanding of changing patterns and perceptions for specific groups including age differences, potentially aids the response of state and society to the ageing phenomenon.
