The article analyzes the level of awareness of dental students about the occurrence of orbital pathology as a result of infection in the oral cavity. Anonymous survey of 4-5 year students of the Institute of Dentistry was carried out. 128 people took part in the survey. To conduct a comparative study, we used the data of foreign colleagues, who also asked graduates of the educational institution to answer similar questions (140 people). The questions presented in the questionnaire characterize general ideas about the possibility of developing orbital complications, as well as the tactics of a dentist in case of ocular complications in a dental infection. Most of the respondents stated the need for additional information, conducting reviews on the development of ocular complications in dental infection. Key words: orbital complications, questionnaires, opinion of dental students.

Aim: The aim was to evaluate the knowledge, attitude and behaviour of dental students concerning infection control measures and to check the correlation, if any, among knowledge, attitude and behaviour of dental students concerning infection control measures in dental setups. Materials and Methods: A total of 1200 students from first to final year and interns from three different colleges were included in the study. Results: A total of 95.83% think isolation is important. Only 4.1% have been vaccinated with hepatitis B vaccine and 95% with tetanus vaccine. Conclusion: The level of knowledge and behaviour of infection control measures was average, for which the reasons could be inadequate training, supply of protective equipments and mainly carelessness. Key Words- Infection control, Vaccination, Isolation.

Summary. Chewing is one of the important functions of a person that ensures vital functions. Many works have been devoted to the definition of chewing efficiency for almost a hundred years. However, most of them are not currently used, which is due to the complexity and complexity of the implementation. This review is devoted to the coverage and comparison of dynamic masticatory samples to select the optimal for use in patients in the postoperative period with defects of the oral cavity and oropharynx. Key words: chewing efficiency, dynamic test, oral cavity defects.

The article raises the issue of comparative study on the basis of the epic rather than the different aspects of the epical texts belonging to different peoples and languages, and initially focuses on the issues of similarity and sameness. In epics, the probability of events, plots, characters, as well as similarities of stylistics to clarify the general linguocultural points is logically accepted. This aspect implies the study of the condition that creates the basis for the sameness and similarity in means of languages, textual units in epics.First of all, the nomination of mythological beings and expression ofsamenessfor their descriptions in linguistic means are studied. Key words: epic, myth, ban, similarity, heroism, character

Background: Epulides, tumors of periodontal origin, are commonly reported in dogs and infrequently in cats. But its documentation among wild animals is scarce. Retrospective study of the available literature did not find any report of epulis in sloth bears, though dental pathology is common in captive sloth bears. The present study depicts the details about an incidence of bilateral epulides in a captive sloth bear of Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneswar, India and its successful surgical management. Methods: A male sloth bear aged about 15 years, developed bilateral swellings at the upper jaw, protruding out of the oral cavity, impeding with its normal feeding and drinking. Close physical examination under general anaesthesia revealed that the swellings are bilateral epulides at the upper jaw involving canines of both sides. The epulides were surgically excised, histopathology of the excised mass was conducted and a course of antibiotic treatment was followed.Result: The epulides were found to be of fibromatous and ossifying type. In the present case, there was no recurrence of epulides at the surgical site after their excision and the procedure proved curative. This work is a complementary contribution to the dental pathology study of sloth bears in captivity.

Although lipomas can occur in any part of the body, they are found infrequently in the oral cavity. Variants of lipoma have been described according to the type of tissue present; a lipoma with cartilaginous metaplasia is a chondrolipoma which is a rare variant. We describe a chondrolipoma of tongue in a 36 year old lady. The availability of datasets comprising of digitized images of human body cross sections (as well as images acquired with other modalities such as CT and MRI) along with the recent advances in fields like graphics, 3D visualization, virtual reality, 2D and 3D image processing and analysis (segmentation, registration, filtering, etc.) have given rise to a broad range of educational, diagnostic and treatment planning applications, such as virtual anatomy and digital atlases, virtual endoscopy, intervention planning etc. This chapter describes efforts towards the creation of the Virtual Dental Patient (VDP) i.e. a 3D face and oral cavity model constructed using human anatomical data that is accompanied by detailed teeth models obtained from digitized cross sections of extracted teeth. VDP can be animated and adapted to the characteristics of a specific patient. Numerous dentistry-related applications can be envisioned for the created VDP model. Here we focus on its use in a virtual tooth drilling system whose aim is to aid dentists, dental students and researchers in getting acquainted with the handling of drilling instruments and the skills and challenges associated with cavity preparation procedures in endodontic therapy. Virtual drilling can be performed within the VDP oral cavity, on 3D volumetric and surface models (meshes) of virtual teeth. The drilling procedure is controlled by the Phantom Desktop (Sensable Technologies Inc., Woburn, MA) force feedback haptic device. The application is a very promising educational and research tool that allows the user to practice in a realistic manner virtual tooth drilling for endodontic treatment cavity preparation and other related tasks.
