This paper examines the peculiarities of teaching German as a second foreign language in a railway university. The analysis emphasizes the inefficiency of traditional methods and the success of the bilingual approach, which consists in a harmonious combination of methodological principles of teaching the first and second foreign languages. The authors carry out a theoretical analysis of the fundamental principles of teaching a second foreign language: a comparative approach, the principle of reliance on the first foreign and native languages, an autonomous approach, a cognitive principle. The paper deals with the issues related to interference and transfer in teaching a second foreign language. Project methods (simulation, presentation speech, Lapbook-technology) tested by the author in the learning process are offered as learning technologies, the use of which facilitates effective mastering of foreign language skills and abilities. The syllabus of the course A Second Foreign language developed by teachers of the Rostov State Transport University in accordance with the new edition of the Federal State Educational Standard is analyzed. The conclusion is made that this syllabus satisfies the requirements put forward by methodologists to the process of teaching a second foreign language. The analysis of the organization of the educational process with the use of textbooks and a fund of assessment tools prepared for the course is expected to be the subject of our further research.

Adoption of the federal state educational standards of higher education of the third generation of implementing competence paradigm in education is the basis for creating a new system of geometric-graphic preparation. The formation of a geometric-graphic preparation. Geometric-graphic training is defined as a basis for the study of general engineering and specialized disciplines. Scientific knowledge of the theory of geometric modeling regulates the organization and development of the full range of technical disciplines. Considering the cycle of general engineering education from the standpoint of integrity, it is necessary to determine the principles of geometric-graphic knowledge as providing a basis for the development of the theoretical foundations of general engineering and specialized disciplines. Pedagogical principles - basic ideas, the observance of which helps to best achieve their educational goals. Describes the general pedagogical principles of holistic educational process: scientific, fundamental, linking theory with practice, systematic, regularity and consistency, professional orientation, accessibility and visibility. The implementation of these principles in their interaction reflects the dialectics of the real process of geometric-graphic training objectives, content, forms, and training tools. The article is devoted to the practice of introducing subject-language integrated training (CLIL) in a military university, which receives insufficient attention in modern teaching methods. The article presents the scientific directions of the organization and the basic principles of bilingual education in special disciplines and a foreign language in technical universities of the country. 4 stages of studying a foreign language at a military university using CLIL technology are described. A new approach to the study of a foreign language is presented as interdisciplinary coordination of a foreign language, humanitarian (history, Russian, translation), natural sciences (physics and mathematics) and military (military-technical) disciplines. All of these disciplines are a tool in mastering the professional knowledge of future military specialists and increasing their professional competence. Intersubject integration at the moment is characterized by a new attitude to the subject of teaching a foreign language - obtaining professional knowledge while simultaneously mastering knowledge, skills in a foreign language and other special disciplines according to the Federal State Educational Standard. The purpose of the study is to identify the links between the humanities and science disciplines for the application of an integrated approach in practical lessons. The study of technologies and approaches to interdisciplinary training in a military university and their use in the educational process is the relevance of the study. The analysis of scientific and theoretical materials of foreign and Russian authors confirms the use of subject-integrated training at a military university. Based on the results of an empirical study, a number of practical recommendations were developed for teachers of military universities. The article provides the organization of an integrated practical lesson in a foreign language with third-year cadets. Tasks for the integration of a foreign language and knowledge of cadets in the field of mathematics and physics have been developed. Methodological recommendations on the organization of subject-based integrated learning in foreign language classes are given. The article emphasizes that interdisciplinary interaction is a complex organizational task and a unified model of subject-integrated education in a military university does not yet exist, and its actualization depends on the capabilities of a particular university.

The article focuses on the problem of creating conditions for the preparation of university students for their future professional activities in the foreign language classroom. For this purpose, we took into account the external and internal factors of the organization of the educational process. The external factors include the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education, the Cultural Studies syllabus; the combination of competence-based, environmental, professionally oriented and intercultural approaches. The internal factors include the conditions of the educational process in the first year, the level of the development of students’ personal and subjective qualities. These factors are determined by the principles of selection (intercultural and professional orientation, informational richness) and organization (personal and subject individualization, comparison, problematic sufficiency of educational material and its adequacy to components of the intercultural competence). The aim of the article is to present a methodology for the intercultural competence formation in a specifically selected and organized professionally oriented informational educational environment and the results of its experimental verification. The methodological basis of the research is a combination of competencebased, environmental, professionally oriented and intercultural approaches. The research methods include the analysis of literature, designing polls, experimental verification, quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results, statistic data verification. The article presents the methods of the intercultural competence formation in the professionally oriented informational educational environment designed for foreign language learners majoring in culturology. As a result of the purposeful selection and organization of the environment, the methodology is filled with the intercultural professionally oriented information and instrumentally equipped with the system of exercises to achieve the expected results. Controlling and evaluating tools for diagnosing the level of the intercultural competence formation are created. The process and results of experimental verification are described for determining the efficiency of the designed methods of the intercultural competence formation, which the future culture expert needs in order to take part in the professional foreign language communication. The article is devoted to disclosing the didactic foundations of Turkic language teaching methodology as non-native languages by the example of one of the developed languages - the Tatar language, which, according to UNESCO, is one of the easily acquired languages of the world. The new generation of federal state educational standards sets new requirements for the educational community, namely, implementing a system-activity approach during the educational process organization in public education organizations, which provides for the development of universal educational actions for students. It was established that the proposed didactic principles would contribute to the solution of these problems. During the study, we have proved the effectiveness of their use in conjunction with innovative technologies and teaching aids. However, the final result of the work of a teacher and a student will always depend on the skillful organization of the educational process, on the choice of effective teaching methods and techniques, i.e., the way teachers and students interact, directing their actions to particular problem solution (especially at primary school). At the same time, they concluded that students' communicative abilities would be much higher if teachers take our recommendations into service.

This article is devoted to the study of the problem of integrating the project method into the process of teaching English to high school students on the basis of the educational-methodological complex «Spotlight». The relevance of the work is due to the modern requirements of the Federal state educational standard, focused on the formation of an active, independent and proactive position of students in the process of mastering a foreign language. Modern schools strive to create conditions for the development of research and reflective skills and abilities of students, actively implementing interactive teaching technologies in the educational process. The incorporation of active teaching methods and forms of teaching into the system of teaching foreign languages, which include the project method, contributes to the formation of students' competencies that are directly interconnected with the experience of application in practical activities and with knowledge of a foreign language as a communicative tool for further modern processes of globalization. The effectiveness of the formation of foreign language communicative competence of students is achieved using project technology, first of all, through independently planned activities, which students are interested in.
