Development of a new generation of functional antiage cosmetics is a most important area of cosmetic industry development. An integral part of such products are biologically active substances (BAS) with essential oils, being among the sources of which. Each essential oil is characterized by a well balanced unique composition of biologically active substances. Development of new cosmetic products consists of correct selection of the required composition of components with required properties and selection of a suitable package, preserving product properties throughout its shelf life. During production of cosmetic products in aerosol package a number of issues are solved, unlike with antiage-products in form of creams in customary tubes. The degree of oxidation-reduction reactions, having negative impact on the properties of essential oils, is substantially reduced. The concentration providing for the optimum degree of evacuation and excess pressure in the packaging are essential issues. The aim of this research is to determine the degree of evacuation of the contents, excess pressure, and mass fraction of a propellant in the product test samples to find the samples of aerosol package with optimum parameters. A number of tests to determine the degree of evacuation of the contents from aerosol package, excess pressure and a mass fraction of a propellant have been performed. The greatest degree of evacuation of products was observed with mass fraction of propellant of 13.79%. Based on the results of the tests for excess pressure in aerosol packaging, it has been found, that with mass fraction of a propellant of 13.79% excess pressure is 0.4 MPa, which was taken as an optimum value. The test showed that the mass of a propellant of 16 g evacuates the product from aerosol package to the maximum extent and does not exceed the acceptable limits for excess pressure (0.2–0.6 MPa)

The autors have studied the present day level of the biochemical investigates of the genus Rubus L.and Ribes L. fruits – raspberry, blackberry, black and red currant and goosberry. The indicators of the berries biochemical composition accepted in the inland practice from the viewpoint of their dietary, medicinal and profilactic qualities evaluation have appeared less informative and require futher essential research. The expansion of the analytical methods range hase been proposed on the basis of the analysis of the data base concerning the content and individual composition of the biologically active substances in the berries of enumerated five small fruit crops in order to be applied in the process of breeding expljrations. Thus it is unsaturated fatty acids that dominate in the raspberries seeds and up to 90 % of them are linoleic and linolenic acids.Contrary to them, the blackberries are more rich in tocopherols and sterols. The largest information characterizing the species specificity of the genus studied is data on the phenolic substances content and composition. In particular, the individual composition of anthocyanins in the berries of the researched crops is a clear strain of them. There are also certain differences as for the other phenolic compounds. For instance, 90% of phenolic acids in the raspberries are concentrated in free form, while the blackberries there are only 3% and the rest are glicosides and esters. A clear difference concerning flavonols content and composition can be traced among the goosberry cultivars, depending of the berries color. The characteristic sign of the currants berries is presence in them such components as floridzhyne and elagic acid. It is also important to characterize the volatile compounds in the investigated crops berries, such as aldehydes and terpenoides raspberry and furan derivates in blackberries.Based on the analysis of the database on the content and individual composition of biologically active substances of five types of berry crops, it is proposed to extend the analytical methods used during breeding operations, to determine the composition and amount of fatty acids, carotenoids, tocopherols, sterols, volatile compounds during breeds, as well as phenolic substances, in the sum and content and composition of anthocyanins, flavonols, flavan-3-ols, phenolic acid, procyanidines, halkons, ellagic acid and elagotannins.

Physical and chemical composition and sensory properties of thistle spotty oil, obtained by cold pressing on the laboratory press Farmet DUO PF3, investigated. It was found that thistle spotty oil contains 2,0 of unsaponifiable substances, including tocopherols 110 mg . Physiologically active unsaturated fatty acids linoleic and oleic 69,70 and 15,60, respectively, prevail in the fatty acid composition of the oil. The high content of mono and diacylglycerols, free fatty acids, which increase the hydrophily of the oil, was noted in the composition of the oil. Therefore, when administered in lipid compositions, they create a feeling of less fat and occlusion. In this case, mono and diacylglycerols of fatty acids have emulsifying properties. The oil is characterized by low values of surface tension and viscosity, average spreadability, good sensory characteristics. Thistle spotty oil can be recommended for use in cosmetic receptions as a base component with the properties of emollient and biologically active component due to the high content of unsaturated fatty acids and other active substances.

One of the ways to eliminate population diseases and increase the body is resistance to adverse environmental factors is the systematic use of functional food products enriched with a complex of biologically active substances with a wide range of therapeutic effects. The creation of a new, unique functional dairy product was preceded by long-term comparative biochemical studies of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi and Scutellaria galericulata L. In the grass and roots, biologically active substances of a phenolic nature, such as baicalin, vogonin, scutellarin, etc., were found useful for medicinal purposes. The use of extracts from the of Scutellaria galericulata L. in the development of a functional product based on sour-milk fractions made it possible to obtain curd mass enriched with the biologically active substance of this plant. The functional product meets the organoleptic, physico-chemical, tasting requirements for new functional products and is recommended for introduction into the diet of different population groups by age and functional activity.

The analysis of literature and personal research data on the role of lipids and their individual fatty acids in the nutrition of sheep has been presented. Experimental data indicate a positive effect of lipids on the body of sheep. However, the question of lipid nutrition is poorly studied, which explains the lack of scientifically based standards for the content of raw fat in sheep diets in general and of individual saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, in particular, which leads to an overrun of the most expensive and deficient component of the diet — protein, as well as negatively affects the productivity of animals and the quality of wool, meat and dairy products. A significant amount of data is devoted to the characterization of lipids and their individual fatty acids in various feeds. In particular, it has been shown that plant seeds (wheat, barley, oats, peas) mostly contain structural lipids (phospholipids, glycolipids) in which linoleic (C18:2) acid, which is the parent of acid family ω-6, predominates quantitatively (from 45 to 61%). The amount of linoleic (C18:2) acid does not exceed 7%, and it is a representative of acid family ω-3. This acid and ω-9 are precursors of various biologically active substances, in particular prostaglandins, leukotrienes, platelets and others. It is emphasized that with the increase in the ω-3 fatty acids in the diets of animals, the spectrum of fatty acids of lipids in tissues and organs changes in the direction of increasing their unsaturation, and therefore, the ratio of ω-6/ω-3 acids in the diets should be taken into account for the normal provision of the body with polyunsaturated fatty acids. It is known that the body of sheep is characterized by high requirements for mineral nutrition, which is associated with their products, in particular wool, and among the whole spectrum of mineral elements a special role belongs to Sulfur, whose content in wool is 3–5%. Therefore, the synthesis of keratin is inextricably linked to the intensive use of sulfur-containing compounds, mainly cystine. Our studies have shown that the increase in productivity under the influence of feeding sheep with sulfo-containing compounds is closely related to lipid metabolism, in particular phospholipids, since in sulfate sulfur experiments in vitro particularly the sulfolipid fraction is intensively incorporated into polar skin-lipids. Sulfur-containing compounds stimulate the synthesis of lipids and fatty acids in the body and this is due to the fact that Sulfur is a part of proteins, lipids, vitamins and other biologically active substances.

The identification of the diversity of microscopic fungi of lithobiont communities of the Argentine Islands in specimens collected during the 22nd Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition was the purpose of this work. Samples of rock, soil, mosses and lichens of rock micro-habitats of “Crustose lichen sub-formation and fruticose lichen and moss cushion sub-formation” were used in the work. These samples were used for extracting and cultivation of filamentous fungi on dense nutrient media. Determination of physiological and biochemical characteristics and identification of yeast-like fungi were performed using a microbiological analyser ‘Vitek-2’ (‘Bio Merieux’, France). Cultivation of microorganisms was carried out at temperatures from +2 to +37 °C. In results cultures of microscopic fungi of Zygomycota (Mucor circinelloides), Ascomycota (species of the genera cf. Tlielebolus, Talaromyces), representatives of the Anamorphic fungi group (Geomyces pannorum, species of the genera Alternaria, Acremonium, Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Cladosporium) were isolated from Antarctic samples. Microscopic fungi Penicillium spp. were dominated after the frequency in the studied samples (54.5%). Rhodotorula rubra and Candida sp. among isolated yeast fungi, and dark pigmented fungi represented by Aureobasidium pulhdans and Exophiala spp. were identified. The biological properties of a number of isolated fungi (the potential ability to synthesise important biologically active substances: melanins, carotenoids, lipids) are characterised. Mycobiota of rock communities of Argentine Islands is rich on filamentous and yeast fungi similarly to other regions of Antarctica. A number of fungi investigated are potentially able to synthesise biologically active substances. The dark pigmented species of the genera Cladosporium, Exophiala, Aureobasidium pulhdans, capable of melanin synthesis; ‘red’ yeast Rhodotorula rubra (carotenoid producers and resistant to toxic metals); Mucor circinelloides and Geomyces pannorum, lipid producers, are among these fungi. Yeast-like fungi assimilated a wide range of carbohydrates, which will allow them to be further used for cultivation in laboratory and process conditions. The collection of technologically promising strains of microorganisms, part of the Culture Collection of Fungi at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), is updated with isolated species (strains) of filamentous fungi and yeast – potential producers of biologically active substances, obtained within this study.
