This research is motivated by the problem of students not being skilled in writing explanatory text. This study aims to describe the Comparison of Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning with Scramble Explanatory Text Skills of Class XI Students of SMA N I Gunung Tuleh. This type of quantitative research with experimental. The research sample was 50 students of class XI SMAN I Gunung Tuleh consisting of 24 students/experiment I and 26 students/experiment II. The data of this study were the scores of explanatory text writing skills using the Think Talk Write (TTW) Scramble model of class XI students of SMA N I GunungTuleh. The risearch results can be sumarized as follows. First, the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh with the Think Talk Write (TTW) model obtained an average of 63.33 in the range of 56-65% with sufficient qualifications (C). Second, the students' explanatory text writing skills ofclass XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh with the Scramble model obtained an average of 70.76 in the range with the qualification More than Enough (LdC). Third, based on the t-test of the hypothesis tcount>ttable (2.33> 1.67). So it can be concluded that the use of the Scramble model is better used to improve the explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA N I Gunung Tuleh. Third, based results of the t-test there is a comparison of the use (TTW) with the Scramble model on the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh because tcount>ttable (2.33>1.67). So, it can be concluded that the use of the Scramble model is better used to improve the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh.

<p align="center"><span lang="EN-US">This study aims to study whether there was interest interested in learning explanatory text writing students. This type of research is quantitative with a 2x2 <em>factorial design</em>. Students are grouped into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class in this study was in class XI IPA 1, while the control class was in XI IPA 3. The instruments used to collect data were reading interest questionnaires and performance tests for explanatory text writing skills. The results of this study are the following two things. First, explanatory text writing skills of students who have high reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have high reading interest in the control class. Second, explanatory text writing skills of students who have low reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have low reading interest in the control class.</span></p>

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe the following matters. First, it describes the mastery of the vocabulary in the environmental field of class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Second, describing the explanatory writing skills of the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Third, explaining the correlation between the mastery of environmental vocabulary and the writing skills of explanatory text for grade XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Based on the results of the study, the following three things can be concluded. First, the vocabulary mastery of the environmental field of class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang is in good qualifications (77.85). Second, the explanatory text writing skills in class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang are in good qualifications (77.93). Third, there is a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery in the field of environment and writing skills in explanatory text for class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang on the degree of freedom n-1 and a significant level of 95% so that it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater ttable 4.93> 1.68. Kata Kunci:  Korelasi, Kosakata Bidang Lingkungan Hidup, Menulis Teks                     Eksplanasi

Assessment is a process to obtain and collect student learning outcomes during learning. Based on the facts in the field it was found that the teacher was unable to compile assessment tools for writing explanatory text skills and short story texts. The purpose of this study was to develop assessment tools for explanatory text writing skills and short story texts consisting of teacher guides and student assignments. The research and development model used in this study is the R2D2 development model. The results showed that the assessment skills of explanatory text writing skills and short story texts developed were appropriate to be implemented in the 2013 curriculum. The teacher's guide to explanatory texts reached 91% and the teacher's guide to short story texts reached 86%. While the student assignment for the explanatory text reached 87% and the student assignment for the short story text reached 82%. Based on the results of the validity and reliability test, it shows that all the items of work that have been developed are valid and reliable.

ABSTRACTThis article aims to describe the effect of the problem based leaerning model on explanatory text writing as found on eight grade at SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan.The type the research is quantitative with the experimental method. There are three results found from the research, these are (1) eight grade students expansive writing skills as found at SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan before they were tought using the problem based learning model it were already in a qualitied stage with the average valve is 70,67, (2) eight grade students explanatory writing skills of SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan after being tought using the problem based learning model is in a better qualified stage with the average valve is 86,86, and (3) eight grade student explanatory writing skills of SMP Negeri 4 Solok Selatan using the problem based learning model have been in a good stage even without using the problem based learning model. Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Model Problem Based Learning, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi

This research aims to describe the influences of TPS model and reading interest of class VIII student of SMP Negeri 31 Padang about their skills of writing explanatory text. This research type is quantitative research with 2x2 factorial experiment design. The population of this research is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 31 Padan. The data collects by using two methods. The analysis and discussion of the data apply descriptive-analysis method in accordance with the concept of experimental research. Based on the research the writer concludes that from explanatory text writing, the students who have high reading interest and low reading interest whom applies TPS model have higher reading interest than the students that using conventional learning methods. Furthermore, there is no interaction between TPS model with reading interest in influencing the learning outcomes of the students' in explanatory text writing skills.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the reading skills of explanatory text understanding of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. Second, describe the explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. Third, describing reading correlation understanding explanatory text with explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. This article was written to describe reading skills in understanding explanatory texts with explanatory text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP N 2 Batusangkar. This type of research is quantitative research using descriptive methods. The research design used is correlational. The population in this study was the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Batusangkar who were enrolled in the 2017/2018 academic year totaling 245 students. Samples were taken using proportional random sampling. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the correlation between reading skills comprehension of explanatory texts and explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Junior High School with 95% evidence with n-1 degrees of freedom; t-count> t-table (5.55)> (1.68). ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe comprehension reading skills. Second, describe explanatory text writing skills. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design of this study is correlational design. The study population was registered in 2018/2019, which is 287 students. The research sample was proportional random sampling of 20% of the population of 57 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the results of comprehension reading skills tests and scores on the results of explanatory text writing skills. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure comprehension reading skills and performance tests to measure writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, reading comprehension skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Second, explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA Adabiah Padang are of good qualification (B). Third, there is a correlation of reading comprehension skills with explanatory text writing skills with n-1 freedom degrees at the 95% confidence level. The value of tcount (38.54) is greater than t table (1.66) that is tcount> ttable (38.54> 1.68) thus H0 is rejected and H1. Based on the results of these studies it was concluded that reading comprehension skills correlated with explanatory text writing skills.  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is as follows. First, it describes the level of explanatory text writing skills of grade XI students of SMK Negeri 9 Padang before using the problem based learning model assisted by audiovisual media. Secondly, it describes the level of explanatory text writing skills of grade XI students of SMK Negeri 9 Padang after using a problem based learning model assisted by audiovisual media. Third, analyze the influence of the use of problem based learning models assisted by audiovisual media on the ability to wite explanatory text for grade XI students of SMK Negeri 9 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with experiment methods (quasi experiment). The populasi in this study amounted to 174 students and the sample of this study was class XI PH 1 and 2 totaling 32 students. Based on the results of the study, there are three things below. First, the explanatory text writing skills before using the problem based learning model assisted by audiovisual media are of sufficient qualifications (60,08). Second, the explanatory text writing skills after using the problem based learning model assisted by audiovisua media are in good qualifications (78,08). Third, there is a significant influence in the use of problem based learning model assisted by audiovisual media based on the results of the t-test that the working hypothesis (H1) is accepted at a significant level of 95% and dk=(n-1) because tcount>ttable (4,98>1,70) Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Model Problem Based Learning Berbantuan                 Media Audiovisual, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksplanasi
