scholarly journals The Influence of Cold Atmospheric Air on the Environmental Health of Sportsman

On the basis of a systematic analysis of the scientific literature, it was found that the increased sensitivity of a modern human being to the negative effects of the cold natural environment is due to its passage from the shrouds of East Africa with characteristic high ambient temperatures, primarily atmospheric air. At the same time, in comparative terms, the extinct Neanderthal, with his Eurasian apprehension in the conditions of glacial periods, was on the contrary sufficiently well adapted to the cold environment. The subsequent adaptation of a modern human type at the genetic level with the formation of the main races (Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid) could not sufficiently compensate for its insufficient resistance to the cold environment. According to the results of the research, the main ways of solving the problem of the negative influence of the cold natural environment on the ecological health of athletes were determined: the rationing of the order of sporting activities of athletes depending on the degree of low-temperature environment, diagnosing the athletes' hypersensitivity of the respiratory tract to cold atmospheric air, degree of tension of the processes of thermoregulation of the body. The conclusions are drawn according to which the prevention of the negative impact of extreme conditions of the cold environment (primarily cold atmospheric air) on the ecological health of athletes should be systemic, integrated. The system of preventive measures should include an early diagnosis of the development of airway hyperresponsiveness of athletes to the effects of cold atmospheric air, as well as an assessment of the degree of tension of the body's thermoregulatory system to the effect of cold. In the system of preventing the negative impact of the cold environment on the body of athletes engaged in winter sports in the open space, it is necessary to include regulation (normalization) of the temperature regime of cold atmospheric air when determining the possibility of holding sporting events. If necessary (the presence of hypersensitivity of the airways to the action of cold atmospheric air), it is advisable to use special means of protecting the respiratory tract of athletes from the negative influence of cold atmospheric air.

Objective: Robotic surgical systems offer better workplace in order to relieve surgeons from prolonged physical efforts and improve their surgical outcomes. However, robotic surgery could produce musculoskeletal disorders due to the prolonged sitting position of the operator, the fixed position of the console viewer and the movements of the limbs. Until today, no one study has been reported concerning the association between robotics and musculoskeletal pain. The aim of this work was verify the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among Italian robotic surgeons. Material and methods: Between July 2011 and April 2012 a modified Standardized Nordic Questionnaire was delivered to thirty-nine Italian robotic centres. Twentytwo surgeons (56%) returned the questionnaires but only seventeen questionnaires (43.5%) were evaluable. Results: Seven surgeons (41.2%) reported musculoskeletal disorders, by since their first use of the robot which significantly persisted during the daily surgical activity (P < 0.001). Regarding the body parts affected, musculoskeletal disorders were mainly reported in the cervical spine (29.4%) and in the upper limbs (23.5%). Six surgeons (35.3%) defined the robotic console as less comfortable or neither comfortable/uncomfortable with a negative influence on their surgical procedures. Conclusions: In spite of some important limitations, our data showed musculoskeletal disorders due to posture discomfort with negative impact on daily surgical activity among robotic surgeons. These aspects could be due to the lack of ergonomic seat and to the fixed position of the console viewer which could have produced an inadequate spinal posture. The evaluation of these postural factors, in particular the development of an integrated and more ergonomic chair, could further improve the comfort feeling of the surgeon at the console and probably his surgical outcomes.

Luxury suites have become a key revenue source and an important element of sport facility design for professional sport organizations. There are a variety of factors influencing the pricing of luxury suites; however, the recent recession has impacted the premium seat sales market significantly. The current investigation was the first empirical examination of luxury suite pricing determinants for professional sport facilities. An economic model, utilizing multiple regression analysis, was constructed to examine the relationship between the current price of luxury suites for major North American professional sports facilities and selected demographic, economic, and team/facility/league-specific explanatory variables, in a uncertain economic climate. The final economic models were found to be significant, explaining 57% and 60% of the variability in luxury suite prices, respectively. Significant variables of interest included team performance and league affiliation, which had a positive influence and the number of competing venues, which had a negative influence on luxury suite prices. The current findings further the body of knowledge in the pricing of admissions to sporting events though the development of the first pricing determinants models for luxury suites, which take into consideration the tenuous economic environment.

The purpose of the paper is to recognize consumers’ opinions on the environmental aspects of meat consumption and the intention to limit meat consumption due to the negative influence of meat production on the environment. The objective of the paper was achieved through literature studies, information acquired from industry magazines and direct research. We adopted the research question whether consumers are willing to limit meat consumption due to the awareness of the consequences of meat consumption for the environment. The research was carried out in December 2019 using the online survey technique. The participants of the study were 457 representatives of young consumers — representatives of the generation which is most convinced of the harmful impact of mankind on the natural environment. The results of the research and analysis indicate that a significant proportion of young consumers have already reduced their meat consumption and a relatively significant (approx. 40%) intend to reduce meat consumption for environmental reasons, with the percentage of people who perceive the negative impact of industrial meat production on the environment is even higher and equals about 50%. Slightly less, approx. 35%, believe that limiting meat consumption can improve the state of the natural environment.

The connection between circadian rhythms and cancer is bilateral at the body and cellular level. Negative impact of tumor development on circadian rhythms represents one of its aspects. Materials and methods. 16 FVB/N and 16 FVB/N transgenic HER2/neu female mice were used in the experiment. 4 mice of each line were euthanized at ZT0 (light switch-on time), ZT6, ZT12 and ZT18. Bmal1, Clock and Cry1 gene expression was evaluated in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, liver, mammary tissue and tumors by real-time PCR. Content of BMAL1 and CLOCK proteins in mammary tissue and tumors was evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Results. Absence of clock genes expression and clock proteins content daily oscillations was observed in spontaneous mammary adenocarcinomas of HER2/neu transgenic mice. We also revealed decrease in peak values of clock genes expression in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, liver and mammary gland in tumor- bearing animals. Conclusions. The obtained data confirm the hypothesis about disruption of circadian rhythms in breast tumors and negative influence of tumors on the rhythms of the whole organism.

Gelendzhik is the resort town, there aren't a lot of industrial enterprises here. The main pollutant is transport. The work purpose is the assessment of a condition of the artificial landings of a pine located along the Federal highway "Don" and landings, which is nearly the sea coast. Researches were conducted to a standard technique of the General vital state (A. S. Bogolyubov). The assessment of a condition of pines was carried out during 6 years: from 2010 to 2015. For carrying out research we used 6 experimental grounds on the Markotkhsky spine and 2 control grounds within the town. We investigated 24 trees on each platform, middle age of the trees were 30 - 40 years. Results. 1. The condition of trees in the pine forests located in immediate proximity with the Federal highway "Don" (No. 1, 2, 3) is unsatisfactory. As even weak influences of the majority of atmospheric gaseous pollutants (sulphurous gas, nitrogen oxides, etc.) give effect of a necrosis and hloroz of pine needles, the condition of pines is connected with technogenic pollution. So near the Federal highway "Don" the air environment is strongly polluted by exhaust gases. Information of 2012 confirm that negative influence of the route on Markotkh's vegetation decreases at reduction of load of the route. 2. On the sites located above on a slope (No. 4,5,6) thanks to remoteness and the wind mode intensity of influence of pollutants is lower and a condition of pines the quite satisfactory. 3. Trees on the sites located near the sea (No. 7,8) are in a good shape. Small deterioration of a state is noted in very droughty years. Conclusion. Results of six years' research show that the condition of the plantings which are in close proximity with the road worsens. It is explained by increase in intensity of the movement on the road, especially during a resort season. Gelendzhik is the city with a good ecological shape, but the damage to environment is already caused. If not to take measures, we can lose a unique part of the nature in the future, recreate it will be impossible. Measures of reduction of negative impact of exhaust gases were offered. Results of researches are transferred to ecological department of the City administration of Gelendzhik.

Animals imported to Yakutia from other regions fall into feeding and housing conditions that differ from their usual agro-climatic conditions, which causes the problem of their adaptation. Yakutia is one of the areas where the feed of its own production has a lack of basic minerals, which affects the health and productivity of animals, which has an additional negative influence on the adaptation process of imported cattle. In order to replenish macro- and microelements in the body, it is necessary to introduce various local mineral feed additives, premixes, and use mineral salts into the ration. Under the conditions of Central Yakutia the influence of local mineral feed additives (zeolite of the Khonguruu Deposit in the Suntar district and sapropels of local lakes) containing macro- and microelements that increase the meat productivity of steers has been studied. As a result of the research the influence of local mineral feed additives on meat productivity and physiological condition of Hereford steers has been established. Influence of zeolite and sapropel in a complex with mineral salts on digestibility of nutrients of the ration and use of nitrogen, calcium and phosphorus by experimental animals has been defined. The influence of feed additives on the quality of meat products has been studied. The results have shown that the use of local mineral feed additives in the composition of ration of steers during the fattening period at a dose of 0,7 g zeolite per 1 kg of live weight of the animal and 200 g of sapropel in combination with 10 g of mineral salts contributed to the gain in live weight, carcass weight, carcass yield, yield of edible parts, and economic efficiency of fattening. For the entire period of the experiment the gain in live weight in groups was: in control group 2222,9 kg, in the 1st experimental group 2396,2 kg, in the 2nd experimental group 2471,1 kg. The total economic effect for the 1st experimental group for the period of experiment amounted to 44,3 thousand Rubles, for the 2nd experimental group 78,0 thousand Rubles or per 1 head/day 14,06 and 24,76 Rubles, respectively.

For ruminants, especially high-yielding animals in addition to the complete supply of animals with protein, its digestibility in the rumen is important. With low protein digestibility in the rumen, the released ammonia will be more effectively used by the rumen microflora, and the undigestible protein in the subsequent sections of the digestive tract can serve as a source of amino acids for the body. The use of concentrate mixtures with the inclusion of local, affordable and cheaper grain feeds, in particular a high-energy and protein ingredient- rapeseed presscake makes it possible to increase the milk productivity of cows throughout lactation. These presscakes are well balanced in their amino acid composition and belong to feeds whose protein has a low degree of digestibility in the rumen. The purpose of the researches was to study the digestibility of nutrients and milk productivity of cows when using the concentrate mixture with the inclusion of rapeseed presscake. In the scientific and economic experiment has been carried out on lactating cows, where the cows of the experimental group in the concentrate mixture of peas has been replaced with rapeseed presscake the digestibility of nutrients in the ration, energy metabolism and milk productivity have been studied. Studies have shown that almost all the nutrients were significantly better digested by the animals of the experimental group. Energy in milk was more allocated by cows of the experimental group by 6,29 MJ. From cows of the experimental group for 100 and 305 days of lactation has been obtained more milk by 6,27 and 7,06 %, respectively, than from control herdmates. The biochemical parameters of blood were within the limits of the physiological norm in animals of both groups. Thus, the replacement of peas with rapeseed presscake in the concentrate mixture did not have a negative influence on the metabolic processes and helped to increase the milk productivity of cows.
