The key factor influencing radical structural changes in the economy is innovation. In this regard, the question arises about the assessment of the ability of industrial enterprises to innovate, i.e. innovation potential, which refers to the totality of resources needed to implement innovation. Innovation potential contains a number of components, depending on the type of economic activity of an economic entity. Based on the analysis of existing methods of assessing the innovative potential of industrial enterprises, most often the assessment is limited to the methodology of expert assessments, which is subjective and does not reflect the real situation. The classification of the components of innovation potential and a set of indicators that assess its state are not sufficiently presented. The article presents a set of indicators for assessing the innovative potential of the enterprise and the classification of enterprises in terms of innovation potential. And in conclusion, the algorithm of the proposed methodology for assessing the innovative potential of the enterprise is presented.

The article is devoted to the analysis of factors of influence on the increase in financial performance of agricultural enterprises. The approaches of scientists to determine the essence of the concept of profit are analyzed, their own definition of the concept is formed. The system of proof that the company's task is to make a profit, which is the main stimulus of economic activity is provided. Profit ensures the economic stability of the company, guarantees its financial independence. In order to improve financial results, the company is interested in looking for untapped opportunities and reserves, more efficient ways of using resources, producing products for which there is demand, applying organizational and technical innovations that ensure the efficiency of production, etc. Therefore, the study of factors that affect the level of profitability of the company is a very topical topic that requires further research. It has been established that profit is the main financial result and an incentive for the economic activity of enterprises, the main source of its functioning and development. In today's environment, improving financial results is a complex problem. For their continued growth, the company is interested in updating methods of mobilizing hidden opportunities and reserves, preserving existing and attracting additional resources, upgrading production facilities, focusing on the production of goods of constant and high demand, introducing organizational and technical innovations, and constantly improving the efficiency of production. The need for continuous creative analysis of factors that affect the size of the profit is emphasized. Ways to ensure the growth of financial results of agricultural enterprises by reducing the cost of production, adjusting the prices of products, increasing the technological level of production, changing the structure and volume of products, increasing soil fertility, the level of productivity, the most rational use of labor, material and financial potential are explored. All this, combined with the effect, is able to provide the company with a high level of profitability of operation, increase its level of competitiveness, increase the demand for products, develop export potential, attract new investors, update the fixed capital, improve the fertility of the soil, eventually improve the environment.

Purpose. The purpose of the article is to summarize theoretical approaches to determining the nature, structure and sources of innovative potential of a region. Methodology of research. The following methods are used during the study: systemic and dialectical – to study the dominant characteristics of the region's innovation potential; comparison and synthesis – to study approaches to interpreting the term "innovation potential"; graphic – for a visual representation of the results of the study. Findings. The approaches to the interpretation of the above category are summarized based on the study of scientific literature devoted to the problem of innovation potential, as well as three main approaches to the interpretation of innovative potential: resource (most common), target and approach by which innovative potential is considered as a measure of ability / result oriented). It is suggested that the innovative potential of a region means first and foremost the opportunities, and second, the resources and organizational capabilities that enable the creation and implementation of innovations to achieve sustainable development of the region and the country as a whole. At the same time, an important aspect of increasing the innovation potential of the region is, among other things, the institutional capacity of the state to stimulate and support the development of innovation processes. It is proposed to consider financial and investment, material and technical (industrial), research, market, information, intellectual-personnel and marketing potentials as components of the region's innovation potential. Originality. The paradigm of innovation potential of the region has been developed, which, unlike the existing ones, provides for: 1) systematization of preconditions for formation and factors of influence on development and enhancement of innovation potential; 2) establishment of functions and sources of innovative potential; 3) determination of components of innovative potential with indication of their quantitative measuring instruments and methods of measurement. Practical value. The obtained results of the research will be the basis for the development of the author's methodology for complex evaluation of innovative potential of Ukrainian regions. Key words: innovations; innovative development; innovative potential of the region; region; innovative activity; spatial development; regional economy.

The main aim of analysisis to determine the innovation potential and the level in the Visegrad Group regions, 25 years after the start of economic transformation. The reference point in the analysis is the European Union and its average values in terms of selected innovation indicators. Two methods were used in the analysis. The theoretical part uses a method of literature studies. In the empirical part - a comparative method,  which used the comparison of the Visegrad Group states and the average for the entire EU, in the scope of selected indicators of innovation potential. Results of a research. Innovation and innovativeness are no longer exclusively associated with economic activity. They also refer to public management and human attitudes. Innovativeness of the region is a component of innovation of all units operating in a given territory and determines the achievement of competitive advantage. The Visegrad Group was formed in the early 1990s. It clusters neighboring countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which began economic  transformation at the same time. The innovative potential of the Visegrad Group regions is low, comparing to the EU average. What is worse, in recent years the distance in many elements of this potential has deepened. As an example are such indicators as: expenditures of enterprises on research and development, participation in lifelong learning, or employment in the high-tech sector. One of the few potentials that can determine the  economics competitiveness of V4 group, in the future, is human capital and a high level of education in society. As a result of the analysis, it also turned out that among the Visegrad Group countries, the most innovative potential lies in the Czech and Hungarian regions. This was also reflected in the summary ranking of innovativeness. What is also important, relatively high level of innovation potential of the capital regions, which are characterized by high entrepreneurship, higher level of education and higher research and development activity of enterprises. Range of application of results: government agencies supporting innovation, local government units responsible for regional innovation, entrepreneurs. Conclusions. Innovativeness is considered today as a key determinant of the countries and regions  competitiveness. The low innovation potential of the Visegrad Group regions affects their weak economic position in relation to more developed countries. Therefore, it is crucial that the authorities should support individual elements of this potential, especially university education.

The article clarifies the essence and structure of the innovative potential of the enterprise. Modern approaches to the definition of the category "innovation potential" are analyzed. It is established that the innovation potential as a set of innovative resources, the implementation of which leads to the improvement and optimization of production, makes it possible to create and implement innovations in order to achieve strategic competitive advantages of the enterprise. It was found that the innovation potential organically connects the main potential of the enterprise for innovative development. It is determined that under the conditions of effective realization of all main components of innovation potential the enterprise strengthens its position on the market and achieves sustainable development. The levels of innovation potential of the enterprise are considered, which allow to determine the ability of the enterprise to introduce new technologies into the economic turnover while providing for the financial needs of the current production and economic activity. It is proved that the analysis of innovation potential by components provides an opportunity to develop procedures for assessing its sufficiency for the development, production and promotion of specific innovations.

Background: large-scale plans for the development of Russia's transport infrastructure, including the railroad, require revision and improvement of the modern tariff system; the latter is unthinkable without improving the existing theoretical approaches to pricing in freight rail transport. Aim: development of classification criteria for the evolution of theoretical approaches to pricing in freight rail transport in the XXearly XXI centuries on the basis of the most significant works on this topic; modelling the matching of the current stage of development of these theoretical approaches to modern scientific approaches of determining the economic category "price". Methods: comparative, analysis, synthesis, system approach. Results: we developed a chronological classification of theoretical approaches to pricing in freight rail transport in the XXearly XXI centuries. (with the identification of the correspondence of the stages of development of the theory to the periods of development of railway transport), a classification of the current stage of development of these approaches in the main directions of development, and the model of the matching of the elements of the classification of the current stage of development of these approaches to modern scientific approaches to determining the economic category "price". Conclusion: the developed classifications and the matching model can be used in the future to improve the existing theoretical approaches to pricing in freight rail transport, to develop fundamentally new similar approaches and methods of their application in pricing in practice.

Modern directions of formation of the global economic, informational and financial space define fundamentally new tasks for the formation and development of forms and methods of management of regional systems. The article is aimed at substantiating the need to transform regional management to ensure sustainable development of Ukrainian regions in the context of globalization. The article develops theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the concept of «region» and presents an author’s own definition of this concept as an open holistic system, the unity of which is secured by a number of factors (of geographical, political, social and economic nature), the elemental composition of which is characterized by a wide range of elements (including regional institutions), which as a result of constant interaction and mutual influence acquire new qualities and characteristics and cause qualitative changes in the system. The main features of the regional system include: the ability to self-reproduction; purposeful nature and dependence of its functioning and development on the composition and completeness of resource provision. The content of the concept of «globalization» is closer defined. It is proved that globalization puts forward new requirements for regional management, restrictions on modern economic development are outlined as well. Regions of Ukraine are actively involved in the processes of international and interregional integration, and the foreign economic activity of the regions has significant prospects. At that, the degree, depth of involvement of the region in the international integration process, the success of its foreign economic activity directly depend on the focus on innovative conduct of financial-economic activities, complementarity in financing, the use of the mechanism of public-private partnership. The main challenges of sustainable development of the regions of Ukraine (except for the pandemic) include: involvement of economic agents; development of engineering infrastructure; construction and renovation of housing stock; ordering land use; high-level support of employment; urgent ecological problems. Ensuring the sustainability of both regions and the State in modern conditions is possible by strengthening the horizontal links of interregional interaction. The latter expands the capabilities of regional governing bodies in terms of increasing the internal potential of the regions, creates conditions for more effective problem solving in the economic, social and political spheres. Prospects for further research in this direction are the development of theoretical principles of regional management and the development of practical recommendations for its improvement, taking into account the challenges of globalization.

Currently, competitiveness is a priority indicator for any country and in order to secure achieving its high level, some measures were developed aimed at formation of favorable conditions for the creation and implementation of innovations. It is the implemented innovative projects that have a positive impact on the economic status of the state. Innovati v e potential is considered the “foundation” for innovation, since its structure includes all the fundamen- tal components, facilitating the passage through all the stages of the innovation cycle. The country’s indicators are formed from a set of economic indicators of the regions, so the policy of local self-government bodies of the subjects of the Russian Federation should be aimed at innovative development and, in partic- ular, at building up the innovative potential of the region. The article analyzes various interpretations of the definition of “innovative potential of the region” and considers its structure and main components . Also based on the difference in approaches to the definition, a terminological classification is compiled from the point of view of Russian and foreign scientists who are engaged in research in the field of innovation. It is known that high practical results can be obtained when there is a necessary theoretical basis for that, in which the essence of all terms is revealed.
