Drawing on Raymond Williams and Kenneth Goldsmith, Adam considers the relationship between the work of art and the work involved in producing art, and consider some of the ways in which the language of creativity and inspiration may undermine democratic energies.

В статье предпринята попытка теоретического анализа и изучения научной литературы по организации и становлению воспитательной работы с осужденными в местах лишения свободы, продемонстрирована взаимосвязь между политико-воспитательной работой, ресоциализацией и исправлением осужденных в пенитенциарных учреждениях. Проведенное исследование позволяет предполагать, что воспитательная работа является основополагающим средством исправления различных категорий осужденных (регламентировано ст. 9 УИК РФ). На этой основе критерием исправления будет становиться устойчивое правопослушное поведение человека. В связи с этим возникает необходимость использования психолого-педагогической программы по перестройке и самооценке осужденных, позволяющей формировать их готовность к самореализации, когда осознание совершенных преступлений становится внутренне неприемлемым. Авторами отмечается, что, самоисправление человека зависит от ряда направлений воспитательной работы: нравственного, правового, физического воспитания, получения основного общего образования, получения профессии. Очевидно, что для закрепления положительного результата процесс ресоциализации в пенитенциарных учреждениях должен проводиться сотрудниками всех отделов и служб на основе комплексных программ, разработанных с учетом специфики и возраста осужденных.The article attempts a theoretical analysis and study of scientific literature on the organization and formation of educational work with convicts in prisons, demonstrates the relationship between «political and educational work», re-socialization and correction of convicts in prisons. The study suggests that educational work is a fundamental means of correcting various categories of convicts (regulated by article 9 of the criminal code). Based on this criterion fixes will become sustainable human behavior, demonstrating a conscious rejection of the violation of legal norms with the aim of securing sustainable patterns of law-abiding behavior. There is a need to use the psychological and pedagogical Program for restructuring and self-assessment of convicts, which allows to form on this basis their readiness for self-realization, when the awareness of the crimes committed becomes internally unacceptable. In this regard, the self-correction of a person depends on a number of areas, namely, moral, legal, physical education, basic General education, profession, forming the basis of educational work. It is obvious that in order to consolidate a positive result in penitentiary institutions, the activities of all departments and services should be carried out a process of re-socialization on the basis of comprehensive Programs developed taking into account the specifics and different ages of convicts.

Key sections of Walter Benjamin's montage-text Berlin Childhood around 1900 figure the relationship between human experience and modern media, with the sections that frame the text, ‘Loggias’ and ‘The Moon’, structured around metaphors of photography. Drawing on the work of Siegfried Kracauer, and especially his seminal essay ‘Photography’, Benjamin develops, in the course of his book, a theory of photography's relationship to experience that runs counter to the better-known theories developed in such essays as ‘Little History of Photography’ and ‘The Work of Art in the Age of its Technological Reproducibility’, theories that are part of the broad currents of technological utopianism and, as such, emphasize photography's transformative potentials. In the Berlin Childhood, Benjamin instead emphasizes photography's role in the mortification and annihilation of meaningful human experience. Photography emerges here as the mausoleum of youth and hope.

Unity is one of the fundamental tools for social security in human life and Islamic Educational institutions in Cameroon are not excluded. The present study aimed at identifying the main roles and Educational needs of Islamic Educational institutions in Cameroon in bringing about Intellectual unity. The descriptive analytical approach was used as a research methodology. The research has come up with the following findings: The spread of misconceptions among individuals is the main cause of weak and limited results of educational work. Due to this, the relationship between those institutions and the society in its formal framework remains negative. The Islamic Educational institutions in Cameroon have been playing an important role in the service of religion and society in order to preserve peace and unity, but despite its tangible achievements they still face challenges in some aspect, such as academic challenges, scientific developments, and Educational supervision, which were identified as obstacle to functional integration. In conclusion, it is recommended to develop a strategic and effective programs in which all the Islamic Educational institutions of Cameroon are involved in order to erase the misconceptions causing intellectual disunity. These should involve dissemination of pure Islamic values, modern technical and professional educational courses, besides promoting solidarity, religious and cultural cohesion in order to address the diverse challenges of the enemies of religion and society.

Croce and H. G. GadamerVaiva Daraškevičiūtė SummaryThe article analyzes the relationship between truth and the work of art in Benedetto Croce’s aesthetics and Hans Georg Gadamer’s philosophy of art. It compares the main principles of art in their philosophies, showing their similarities and differences. The approaches of these two thinkers are compared by presenting their concepts of truth, the art work and art experience. Croce considers art as an autonomic, subjective cognition. Nevertheless, the universal dimension of art experience is especially important in his aesthetics as well. Gadamer, for his part, uses the reflection of the experience of the art work as the foundation of a hermeneutic universality. The truth in this case is described as contrasting with methodology and is taken to be an event of understanding. The article concludes that the relationship between truth and the art work which we find in Croce’s aesthetics is analogous to the one that lies in Gadamer’s philosophy of art.Keywords: Truth, Art work, Hermeneutics, Intuition, Experience.t: 115%;">

Kollokvium om at udstille kunst og naturvidenskab. Steno Museet, Danmarks Videnskabshistoriske Museum, Århus, 25. september 2006. In the fall of 2006, the Steno Museum (Aarhus, Denmark) exhibited the installation Room One created by the American artist Rosamond Purcell. This installation consists of a full-size model of Museum Wormianum, the Danish physician Ole Worm’s curiosity cabinet, dating from the 17th century. This is a work of art – yet it depicts a naturalist’s laboratory. When one adds that it has also been called the first museum in Denmark, it seemed an obvious step to make the artwork the occasion of a symposium on the relationship between art, science and museums. At this symposium, the artist, along with a number of science historians and museum curators, discussed the definitions of art and science then and now, and spoke about the attempts to transcend the disciplinary boundaries that take place within the museums. Different ways of exhibiting were brought into focus, and Purcell’s installation formed the basis for many interesting discussions about the museum as a place of learning and of aesthetic experience.

Introduction. Changes in the education system have an impact on the health of schoolchildren. Purpose. To study the dependence of the adaptive capacity of schoolchildren studying in schools of various types on the intensity of educational work. Material and methods. The adaptive abilities of the organism of children (aged 7-17 years) were studied in conditions of different intensity of the educational process. There were surveyed 472 cases from traditional schools, 482 people - from specialized schools. We evaluated the statistical significance of the differences in quantitative (Student t-test) and qualitative traits (χ2). The relationship was studied using the Spearman correlation coefficient. Results. The intensity of educational work accounted for 3.6-3.8 points in 52 ± 2.4% of students in specialized type; 1.6-3.5 - in traditional schools. Intellectual loading is the most sensitive index when training in programs with a specialized study of subjects. The adaptive potential of students of specialized schools in a state of functional stress in the lower grades is found by 1.8 times (p < 0.002), on average - 2.2 times (p < 0.001), more often than in traditional schools. However, the proportion of children with functional stress in the upper grades does not differ (22-27%). A high direct correlation was found between the values of the adaptive potential and intellectual loads. Conclusion. Criteria for learning loads requiring a review of their volume in the curriculum of specialized schools are identified. The negative impact of school loads on the adaptive capabilities of a growing organism has been proven.

The article is devoted to the history study of the formation and functioning of district societies «Prosvita»in Volyn between the two world wars. The formation of the public-educational organization in Volyn was in 1918 and functioned up to the end of the 30s of the twentieth century in the region, until it was banned by the Polish authorities. The article analyzes the main directions of the educational work of the society, national cultural work on the background of development and changes in socio-political relations. The role of the Ukrainian intellectuals in the preservation and development of culture and education in Volyn voivodeship between the two world wars was revealed. The author highlighted the achievements and untapped opportunities of the district Prosvita in Volyn, the difficulties and problems, which the society faced and followed the relationship between Prosvita and the Polish state administration in Volyn voivodeship. This short speculative text explores the relationship between the corporeality of a screenwriter and the materiality of a physical space, including its imaginary losses and effects on women’s creative collaborations. In this text, I draw from the information that Begum Para and Protima Dasgupta were spending a lot of time together in Bombay, living under the same roof, when their creative partnership blossomed and gave the industry a production house, a director-producer, a screen star and more than a few films. Although this text takes the form of creative writing, it is based on historical and archival research.

This chapter investigates another set of problems with which the uncoercive gaze must contend when it fastens upon a work: the relationship of speculative thought to the work of art and the ways in which the chasm between literal and figurative speech bears upon that relationship. One of the themes that a reading of Kafka’s The Trial should emphasize is the way in which a literary text both calls for philosophical interpretation and resists such interpretation at the same time. One problem that arises out of this constellation concerns the question of the relationship between the literal and the figurative nature of a text’s rhetorical operations. If Kafka’s novel, by causing the relation between the literal and the figural to enter a space of indeterminacy, enacts a situation in which, as Adorno characterizes it, “a sickness means everything [eine Krankheit alles Bedeuten],” no reading of Kafka—at least no reading informed by the sensibilities of the uncoercive gaze—can afford to ignore the precise conceptual terms of this sickness. Finally, to cast Adorno’s reflections on Kafka into sharper relief, the chapter also considers them in relation to Giorgio Agamben’s recent interpretation of The Trial as Kafka’s commentary on the imbrication of law and slander.

AbstractWhen, in the early 1980s the ideas of post-structuralism seemed rampant within academic critical theory, the appearance of the flawed English translation of Mikhail Bakhtin's central essays on the novel seemed to offer a very promising alternative perspective.1 Bakhtin's model of discursive relations promised to guard the specificity of discourse from being obscured by a web of determinations, while allowing the development of an account of the operations of power and resistance in discourse that could avoid the nullity of Derrida's hors-texte and the irresponsible semiotic hedonism of the later Barthes. Marxist theorists such as Raymond Williams, Terry Eagleton and Allon White immediately and effectively seized upon the translated work of the Bakhtin circle to bolster their arguments, but, as translations of the earlier and later philosophical material appeared, it became apparent that the relationship between work of the circle and the Marxist tradition was very problematic. With this, the American anti-Marxist Slavists – some of whom had been responsible for certain of these translations – moved onto the offensive, arguing that Bakhtin's work was fundamentally incompatible with, and in principle hostile to, Marxism. Occasionally, they went further, arguing that Bakhtin was quite unconcerned with politics and questions of power, being an ethical, or even a religious philosopher before all else. The Americans did have a point. Bakhtin certainly was not a Marxist and the Marxism of some of his early colleagues and collaborators was of a rather peculiar sort. Furthermore, the key problematic area was indeed Bakhtin's ethics which, it became ever more apparent, underlies his most critically astute and productive work and serves to blunt its political edge. Important points of contact between the work of the Bakhtin circle and Marxist theory do persist, however, as Ken Hirschkop and Michael Gardiner, among others, have continued to register. In this article, examining some of the sources of Bakhtin's philosophy, which have only just been revealed in the new Russian edition of his work, we shall analyse the features of Bakhtin's ethics that stifle the political potential of dialogic criticism, and we will suggest ways in which that potential may be liberated.
