The author explores the impact of the global economic crisis on labor migration dynamics through the cases of developed states. It is concluded that the phases of the economic cycle exert different impact on the development of overall migration status in each leading country of the world. This means that a connection between these two processes is not rigid and unambiguous.

International migration characterizes contemporary social and economic life. As governments around the world take on this reality, they face the challenge of developing effective cooperation in this area. Migration is closely linked to the broader global transformations of the economic spheres, social, political and technological problems that affect a wide variety of political problems at a high level, and labor migration responds to the challenges posed by these changes that require presence of foreign workers in industrialized countries. Most migrants respond to employment problems and, in this regard, the International Labor Organization has been particularly concerned about employment prospects and migratory flows.

The most important feature of contemporary top performance sport, as well as sport in general, is globalization. Its natural reflection, the system of global-sport labor migration exists; consequences are not only for the sport workers themselves but also for the host a donor nations, sport leagues and teams, and for the sport itself. For each there are positive effects and benefits, but there are also disappointments and drawbacks as well. A core question in ascertaining the reach and response of globalization in sport from the perspective of basketball is that of sport migration: The best basketball players in the world go to play in the United States NBA. Teams bring in immigrant athletes to gain a competitive edge over their competition who are almost exclusively relying on national, or home grown talent. One of the exclusive chance for European players to be part of such attractive system of sport carrer is to study at some US university and play in basketball team organized by National Collegiate Athletic Association. Such excellent oportunity are just taken advantage also for two young basketball players from Brno, passing strictly demanding selection for the chance to be part amateur top basketball league NCAA and study at American universities, too.

In recent decades, the impact of international migration on world economic and political processes has increased significantly. Today, international labor migration of the population is one of the most important components of modern processes in the world economy, along with the other components, such as capital flow, goods, technologies and information. Globalization of the world economy has led to new trends in the processes associated with the international migration of labor, requiring scientific study. The object of the article is the modern processes of international labor migration. The aim of the work is to identify and analyze the main trends in international labor migration and its economic consequences. The author used the methods of statistical analysis, analysis of domestic and foreign scientific literature, and the data synthesis. The paper examines the main trends in international labor migration such as an increase in the demographic significance of international migration in the demographic development of economically developed countries, an increase in illegal migration, an increase in the composition of migration flows of highly qualified workers and the proportion of women in the number of international migrants. The article analyzes the economic impact of international labor migration on the economies of countries exporting and importing labor resources. The article concludes that migration will increase in the near future due to three reasons: persisting inequality between rich and poor countries, political and ethnic conflicts in a number of regions and the creation of new free trade zones that will facilitate labor mobility. The conclusions and recommendations of this study may be of interest to researchers and practitioners in addressing labor migration issues in Russia and other countries.

In the context of globalization, all world economies unite, interact and develop in a single system of production. However, the world economy largely depends on the formation and development of the world labor market. Thus, migration is one of the main mechanisms and factors affecting individual countries and the world economy as a whole. With the intensification of globalization processes, the demand for staff of different levels of qualification in the labor market is met by the supply of workers, regardless of the country in which they live. This phenomenon leads to international labor migration. Despite the fact that the migration of highly qualified personnel leads to intellectual decline and lack of educated population in the country from which workers migrate. Instead, the uncontrolled migration of low-skilled personnel in the host country can lead to a sharp rise in unemployment among the local population, criminal offenses, social discontent of citizens, which will negatively affect the authority of the state in the world. Therefore, the study of the system of regulation of migration processes and the introduction of ways to improve it will help harmonize the socio-economic situation in the world and make migration more profitable and safe for countries and its citizens. The article reflects the main modern trends in international migration processes: the directions of external labor migration, the scale of the departure of labor migrants to different countries, determined the reasons for such tendencies. In the course of the research, the methods by which these processes are regulated to improve the economies of countries and the safety of labor migrants are considered. The article also describes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mobility of Ukrainian citizens and methods of overcoming the consequences of this impact. The activities described in the article related to migration and population mobility will mitigate the long-term impact of the pandemic, help strengthen the protection of Ukrainian citizens abroad, as well as expand the opportunities for their socio-economic integration into local communities.

Growth in international migration is attributable to conflicts and war, food insecurity, violence, and lack of economic opportunity. Additionally, according to the World Bank, the world could see more than 140 million people move within countries by 2050, and many expect that climate change will lead to even greater migration and displacement. Cities are on the front lines in creating innovative policy and programs to integrate immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Los Angeles has developed programs and policies to ensure that newcomers have the opportunity to thrive economically, civically, and to obtain key city services such as healthcare and financial support. This article examines a few innovative models aimed at addressing integration for migrant and refugee populations in L.A. and provides recommendations for how cities can replicate these models.

AbstractEnvironmental degradation in China, intensified by open-door reforms and industrialization, has been increasing at an alarming scale. Domestically, environmental governance has been poor, often due to institutional constraints and lack of “good practices.” However, recently there have been studies on how the “foreign factor” might have profound positive effects on capacity building in China and how international actors could lead to the successful introduction of good environmental governance. In this article, we present a study of a successful case: the World Bank Global Environmental Facility Cixi Wetlands project in Ningbo, China. The article examines the following: (a) the unique local context enabling the diffusion of international norms; (b) the factors which contribute to the World Bank's leverage role in restructuring local project governance; and (c) the changes in local environmental governance arising from the Bank's involvement. By evaluating this project, the article will demonstrate how the World Bank managed to introduce and socialize local actors into project-specific policy dialogues and procedures that enhanced local compliance with its international practices and standards.

Almost all countries of the world are involved in the migration process, and Uzbekistan is no exception. While our country is involved in the international migration process, including labor migration, one of the main factors is the large number of young workers and the underdeveloped domestic labor market. Therefore, our citizens are working abroad in the world labor market.

The modern trends of the international labor force migration and the main migration corridors are analyzed in the paper. According to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in 2017, the global stock of international migrants (including refugees) was an estimated 258 million. Inequality between supply and demand on the labor market is a main problem of modern international migration processes. It is possible to make a conclusion about the global increase of amounts of labor migration all over the world, in all the countries and regions. The main trends of remittance flows are also studied. The amount of remittances in 2018 was $689 billions. And $518 billions were sent to the developing countries. In relative terms, remittances in nine countries accounted for over a fifth of the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018; in the case of Tonga, remittances represented 36 % of the country’s GDP. As a conclusion, it should be said that the amount of remittances is an important macro economical figure. Its inflow can ensure the increase of foreign currency’s supply in the country.
