The method used is an experimental method that involves two classes chosen at random selected classes i.e. VII A class using the Problem Baseed Learning and class VII B using a regular learning approach. The instrumen using is critical thingking skill. The results test analysis of postes data the value sig (2-tailed) is 0.002, while the test results of the difference of two average data gain, sig value (2-tailed) is 0.003. The findings in this studi were the achievement and improvement of the mathematical critical thinking skills of junior hiigh school students using the Problem Based Learning better than those using the usual approach

This study aims to improve critical thinking skills through the application of a Problem Based Learning based. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles with planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection instruments use question instruments, observation sheets, documentation, and field notes. The subject of the study was the fourth grade students of SDN 1 Muryolobo. The results showed an increase in critical thinking skills as indicated by the data in the pre cycle of 42%, in the first cycle increased by 67,23%, and in the second cycle increased by 80,72%. Increasing critical thinking skills also affects the students learning outcomes. This is indicated by the learning outcomes on Indonesian language in pre cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, are 45%, 68%, and 81%. Furthermore, the learning outcomes of IPS in pre cycle, cycle I, and cycle II are 36%, 63%, and 81%.

This study aims to analyze Problem-based Learning models intended to improve critical thinking skills in elementary school students. Problem-based learning models are learning processes where students are open minded, reflexive, active, reflective, and critical through real-world context activities. In this study the researcher used a meta-analysis method. First, the researcher formulated the research problem, then proceeded to review the existing relevant research for analysis. Data were collected by using a non-test technique by browsing electronic journals through Google Scholar and studying documentation in the library. Seven articles were found through Google Scholar and only one was found in the library. Based on the analysis of the results, the problem-based learning model can improve students' thinking ability from as little as 2.87% up to 33.56% with an average of 14.18%.

The background of this research is to analyze the ability to think critically and reasoning in solving mathematical problems of elementary school students. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method which was carried out at SD Negeri Pengarasan 01 with the research subject of class V (five) students as many as 30 students, which were divided into groups of high ability students (KT), medium ability (KS), and low ability (CR). The research data are 1) the ability to think critically in problem solving, 2) the ability to reason mathematically. Sources of data are written test scores of critical thinking skills to solve problems and scores of mathematical reasoning ability tests and interviews. The ability of students who are accustomed to getting structured questions makes it difficult for them to reason about questions that are in the form of story questions. The application of the Problem Based Learning model is suitable for use in elementary schools in building students' critical thinking and reasoning abilities. This ability will make students able to solve problems that arise in the problem.
