Development Of Integrated-Science Material Using Four Steps Teaching Material Development

The aim of this study are to develop, exam the feasibility, describe the characteristic, and test the student understanding integrated science learning material for Junior High School Student. The theme are developed from volcanic eruption phenomena, which integrated earth science, physics, biology, and social science. The Research and development methode was use to develop integrated science learning material, then captioned “Belajar Sains Melalui Fenomena Erupsi Gunung Api” by Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4STMD). The steps of 4STMD are consist selection, structuring, characterization, and didactical reduction step. Based on the feasibility test, these learning material is qualified in content presetation, language, and graphic feasbility aspects. The characteristic of these learning materials describe that have easy concepts. Based on the understanding test result, the learning material is qualified on good category. It can be conclued that the learning material qualified to be used as supplement learning material of science learning.

Abstract This study aimed to develop the teaching material for integrated natural science learning in junior high school using 4 steps teaching material development (4STMD) method. There were four steps that should be conducted comprised of selection, structuring, characterization, and didactic reduction. The method used in this study was Research and Development (R&D), so that understanding test was conducted more then once, which are before and after didactic reduction step. The first understanding test result in the average of percentage that are 53,7% and 53,8%. After didactic reduction, the second understanding test result in the average of percentage that is 65,8%. The next test was the feasability test of the teaching material that result in the average of percentage 76,9%, which is in the very good category. Keywords: teaching material; understanding; feasibility Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar untuk pembelajaran IPA terpadu di SMP menggunakan metode 4 Steps Teaching Material Development (4STMD). Ada empat tahapan yang harus dilakukan pada metode pengembangan bahan ajar tersebut yaitu seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi dan reduksi didaktik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Research and Development (R&D), sehingga pengujian keterpahaman dilakukan lebih dari satu kali yaitu sebelum dan sesudah dilakukannya tahapan reduksi didaktik. Uji keterpahapaman tahap pertama menghasilkan nilai rerata persentasi 53,7% dan 53,8%. Setelah reduksi didaktik, dilakukan uji keterpahaman kedua yang menghasilkan rerata persentasi 65,8%. Uji selanjutnya merupakan uji kelayakan bahan ajar yang menghasilkan rerata persentasi 76,9% yang berada pada kategori sangat baik. This study aims to determine the level of readability of integrated science teaching material has the theme of waste oriented to environmental literacy developed by 4S TMD (Four Steps Teaching Material Development) method. Environmental-oriented integrated science teaching material are oriented to the components of environmental literacy according to Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey (MSELS), such as environmental knowledge, cognitive skills, affective/attitude, and behaviour towards environment. This research was conducted in one of 7th grade consisting of 30 pupils in one of junior high school in Bandung Barat. The instruments are trial test questions readability which consists of writing the main idea of paragraphs, easy questions/difficult paragraphs, and multiple choice questions related to the materials in the paragraph presented. The result of these trial become a basis to do didactic reduction towards difficult concepts for student to understand. Didactic reduction is one of steps in the 4S TMD method, namely the stage of reducing the difficulty level of teaching material. Based on the result of readability test to the teaching material after didactic reduced, the average readability of all chapters in teaching material is 74,7% as the highest category.

The development of smart mobile phone terminals, mobile learning has become an effective and efficient way for teachers to learn, so that the continuous development of teacher competency development can take place in a fun way. From the aspect of integrated science learning material, it is very clear that science learning in the 2013 curriculum is carried out on an integrated basis. Integrative science has the meaning of combining various aspects, namely the domains of attitudes, knowledge and skills. Therefore, the assessment system developed in science learning must also be able to develop four dimensions of knowledge (factual, conceptual, procedural). In this study, procedural knowledge was specifically developed using the assessment of integrated science application using mobile learning on gadgets with the android platform. The methodology developed in this study is a Research & Development spiral model as referenced by Cennamo and Kalk (2005: 6). In this spiral model, there are 5 (five) development phases, namely: (1) definition, (2) design, (3) demonstration, (4) develop, and (5) presentation (deliver). The research results that have been achieved are; (1) A model for enhancing the professional competence of teachers in the development of procedural ability tests through the design of an assessment of integrated science using mobile learning on gadgets with a proper android platform based on expert judgemnet, (2) Practicality tests of the model have been carried out based on the results of training involving junior high school teachers in the MGMP area of science teachers, Mlati District, Sleman Regency, (3) The model is effective in improving students' procedural abilities

Integration among of science branches, ICT, and character values in learning process is necessary conductedin Junior High School. Science learning in Junior High School should be conducted because Science is an unity. Fact shows that Science in Junior High School is still separated. Purpose of this research is to produce a ICT learning material of integrated Science and to determine its validity result. This result can be categorized into research and development. There are five stages of this research, those are: to know potency and problem, to collect the information, to design the ICT learning material, and to valid the ICT learning material. Base on the development of ICT learning material can be stated two results of this research. First. Main menus of integrated Science learning material consist of home, identities, competency, introduction, learning material, exercise, competency test, references, and supporting menus. Second, validity result of integrated Science learning material is very good with average value is 85.90.

This research aims to develop valid, practical, and effective science learning material using project learning model to facilitate creative thinking skills on object motion in junior high school. Design of the development are used follow 4D model desin. The learning kit being validated by experts are syllabus, lesson plan, student work sheet, handout, and creative thinking question. The objective of this research was to trial learning materials in 39 grade VIII students in SMPN 31 Surabaya with One Group Pretest Postes Design. The results were analyzed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The result were obtained shows that the developed learning materials are: (1) Validity of learning material valid category (3,58); (2) Practicality based on: a) Feasibility of instruction good category (3,9); b) Readability of worksheets and student’s book students stating that the content and appearance of worksheets and student’s book good category; (3) Effectiveness based on: a) Student’s activities high category (93%); b) Result of creative thinking students increased with medium category (N-Gain: 0,62), result of creative thinking students increased with medium category (N-Gain:0,674) in fluency thinking aspect, result of creative thinking students increased with high category (N-Gain:0,726) in flexible thinking aspect, result of creative thinking students increased with medium category (N-Gain:0,531) in original thinking aspect, and result of creative thinking students increased with medium category (N-Gain:0,530) in elaboration thinking aspect; c)The response of students very positively (92%). The conclusion of this research that science learning material developed base on project learning model valid, practical, and effective to facilitate student’s creative thinking in junior high school. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaranIPA model proyek yang valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP materi gerak benda. Rancangan pengembangan yang digunakan mengikuti rancanagn model 4D. Perangkat  pembelajaran yang dikembangkan meliputi Silabus, RPP, Handout siswa, LKP, dan Soal berpikir kreatif. Sasaran penelitian adalah perangkat pembelajaran yang diujicobakan pada 39 siswa kelas VIII SMPN 31 Surabaya dengan rancangan menggunakan One Group Pretest-Postest Design. Hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dinyatakan: (1) Validitas perangkat kategori valid (3,58); (2) Kepraktisan perangkat yang meliputi: a) Keterlaksanaan baik (3,9); b)Keterbacaan Handout dan LKP baik; (3) Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran yang meliputi: a) Aktivitas siswa dengan kategori tinggi (93%); b) Hasil berpikir kreatif siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang (N-Gain: 0,62), pada aspek berpikir lancar (fluent) mengalami peningkatan berkategori sedang (N-Gain: 0,674), berpikir luwes (flexible) mengalami peningkatan berkategori tinggi (N-Gain: 0.726), berpikir orisinal (original) mengalami peningkatan berkategori sedang (N-Gain: 0,531), dan berpikir terperinci (elaboration) mengalami peningkatan berkategori sedang (N-Gain: 0,530); c) Respon siswa terhadap perangkat dan model pembelajaran sangat positif (92%). Simpulan penelitian ini bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA model proyek valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk melatihkan berpikir kreatif siswa SMP.

Geospatial has been widely and extensively used as a research tool across the human activity spectrum. Education sector is no exemption with geospatial being taught in all education institutions, secondary or tertiary. In geography education, tourism courses are among courses that employ geospatial in their teaching and learning material to define the data collection and associate the data with technology which has geographic and locational component. Coastal ecotourism, for example, utilize geospatial in its management where geographic information can be stored in layers and integrated with geographic software program. The information can then be created, stored, manipulated, analyzed and visualized. More interestingly, the result of the spatial information can be integrate with various other research discipline. This paper reviews: 1) geospatial as one of the tools used in geography teaching material; 2) the application of geospatial in coastal ecotourism management; and 3) geospatial based coastal ecotourism management for geography education. A review from geospatial based coastal ecotourism management for geography teaching material development was established. Hence, its effectiveness and efficiency is also discussed.

Science learning is one of the contents of learning in the 2013 curriculum. Learning material in science content has been contained in integrated thematic books. Although the books published by the government have been prepared as well as possible but according to the changing times, the books will continue to be improved and changed to meet the development of the era itself. Therefore, inputs are needed to improve the quality of the book. Therefore, the Science Material in the student book must refer to the 2013 curriculum content standards. The purpose of this study is to see the suitability of the grade IV science books for elementary school students to the 2013 curriculum content standards. The research method used is content analysis. From the results of the analysis it can be seen that from the nine scope of the scope of natural science materials in the 2013 curriculum content standards there are three science materials that are not presented in student books, namely the shape of objects, plant breeding, and materials on climate and weather. In addition, there are two additional materials in the student book which are about the properties of sound and the properties of light that are not contained in the 2013 curriculum content standardsKeywords: Science Materials, Student Books, Content Standard, 2013 Curriculum

Integrated science teaching is required in 2013 curriculum. As the reason is generally science found in daily life in integrated form. In this method, activity and experience which is accepted by students are very limited by their daily life. But integrated science teaching isn’t implemented well yet. As an alternative solution of this problem is to develop teaching material of integrated science by integratingscientific literacy. The objective of this research is to created the valid teaching material of integrated science in its preliminary product, and practice and effective in its implementation in scientific approach. As topic in this research is motion of object and living thing. Type of thisresearch was research and development. Stages of this research consist of understanding the potency and problem, collecting the information, developing the preliminary of product, implementing the teaching material in limited field testing, and revising the teaching material based on result of limited field testing. Design of research in limited field testing was after and before treatment. Instruments to collect the data consist of validity sheet of teaching material, practicality sheet and effectiveness sheet of implementation teaching material of integrated science. Data in this research was analyzed by statistical descriptive analysis, graph method, and correlation compare mean test. Base on the data analysis can be stated two of thisresearch results. First, the teaching material of integrated science by integrating scientific literacy is very valid with average value 90.4. Second, the implementation of teaching material of integrated science by integrating scientific literacy is practice according teachers and students with average value respectively 93.0 and 84.6. On the otherhand, the implementation of teaching material of integrated science is effective in scientific approach for students grade VIII in Junior High School.

Penelitian ini bertitik tolak adanya kesenjangan antara harapan pembelajaran dan hasil belajar fisika SMP, oleh sebab itu perlu diupayakan peningkatan mutu proses belajar mengajar melalui pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan hakikat IPA dan standar kompetensi lulusan SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kevalidan dan kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran IPA terpadu berbasis software adobe flash CS6 pada materi energi dan makanan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif evaluatif yang menghasilkan media pembelajaran IPA terpadu yang valid dan praktis untuk siswa SMP. Media pembelajaran yang dihasilkan divalidasi oleh 2 ahli pembelajaran dan 3 ahli media menggunakan lembar validasi. Kepraktisan produk ditentukan berdasarkan respon 2 guru dan 20 siswa terhadap media pembelajaran yang dikumpulkan menggunakan angket respon. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media pembelajaaran dinyatakan valid, sedangkan respon yang diberikan guru dan siswa menunjukkan respon yang positif terhadap perangkat pembelajaran dan media pembelajaran yang dihasilkan. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis media software adobe flash CS6 yang dikembangkan valid dan praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA terpadu pada materi energi dan makanan bagi siswa SMP. Validity and Practicality of Integrated Science Learning Tools Based on Adobe Flash Cs6 Software on Energy and Food Themes Abstract This research is based on the existence of a gap between learning expectations and learning outcomes for junior high school physics, therefore it is necessary to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process through the development of learning tools that are in accordance with the nature of science and competency standards for junior high school graduates. This study aims to describe the validity and practicality of integrated science learning tools based on Adobe Flash CS6 software on energy and food materials. This research is an evaluative descriptive research that produces an integrated science learning media that is valid and practical for junior high school students. The resulting learning media was validated by 2 learning experts and 3 media experts using a validation sheet. The practicality of the product is determined based on the responses of 2 teachers and 20 students to the learning media collected using a response questionnaire. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the learning media was declared valid, while the responses given by the teacher and students showed a positive response to the learning tools and learning media produced. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the adobe flash CS6 software media-based science learning device that was developed is valid and practical to use in integrated science learning on energy and food materials for junior high school students.
