Changes in science and technology have affected the structure of societies and have led to rapid change in human profile. In order to adapt to the changing human profile, reforms in advertising as well as scientific and technological enrichment in advertisement environments have become necessary. This study aims to investigate the impact of advertisement materials developed with augmented reality (AR) technology on car specification presentation and attitudes towards the advertisement, and to determine their attitudes towards AR applications. In this study, AR application was developed using haar-like features method for marker detector. A quasi-experimental design was used in which intact showroom at two different location, consisting of a total of one hundred customers, were randomly assigned to either the experimental or control group. The experimental group researched their selected car using AR technology, while the control group researched their selected car using traditional methods and the help of salesman. Customers in the experimental group were found to have higher understanding and slightly faster to learn about the car than those in the control group. In addition, the results revealed that the customers were pleased and wanted to continue using AR applications in the future. They also showed no signs of anxiety when using AR applications. In addition, it was found that advertisement achievements and attitudes of the customers in the experimental group showed a positive, significant and intermediate correlation.

The objective of the research is to know whether the use of technologies in the teaching of sciences, in the face of more traditional methods, influences gender differences, justifying the low enrolment of women in technical careers. The study was developed using a pretest–posttest quasi-experimental method through a nonequivalent control group with traditional methodology and common instruments such as the textbook, while in the experimental group, methodologies based on the management of ICT tools were made. We make a quantitative contrast of the impact on learning, considering the advantages and disadvantages of using technologies in science teaching, versus more traditional methods. The experimental group showed a higher motivation, being seen in the impact on better learning scores compared to the control group. We found that women scored higher than men in both pretest and posttest. We conclude by emphasizing the desirability of a transformation of science teaching methodologies by using ICT tools that allow more visual, intuitive, and collaborative work, with greater involvement of students.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the impact of augmented reality (AG) and the flipped learning model on the attitude of 4th-grade students towards the science and technology course and to determine the opinion of students concerning videos presented through AG. Another objective of the study is to determine parents' opinions concerning AG and FL in science and technology courses. A pre-test / post-test quasi-experimental design was used with the control group to obtain quantitative data. Qualitative data were also included in the analysis to support quantitative data obtained from a case study pattern. In the study, the Science and Technology Attitude Scale was used to measure students' attitudes. The Opinion Scale for Experimental Videos was used to evaluate video usage opinions in science and technology courses. Besides, parents' opinions concerning AG applications and the FL model were collected through the researchers' interview form. Independent sample t-test and ANCOVA tests were conducted to interpret the quantitative data of the study. Qualitative data were evaluated with the content analysis method. The results showed that the AR and FL model's application provides students with a positive attitude towards science and technology; it also helped them solve problems. Besides, families have also expressed positive opinions about AR and FL applications.

Purpose This research applies a quasi-experimental research method to investigate the impact of an innovative resource titled “Accounting Exercise” (teaching intervention using physical movement and lyrics) on learning motivation and performance on a group of students enrolled in a first-year undergraduate accounting course in Japan. Design/methodology/approach Five classes were randomly assigned to either an experimental group (two classes) or a control group (three classes). In the experimental group, 90 students participated in a 15-min “Accounting Exercise” at the commencement of lectures over three consecutive weeks. The remaining 133 students assigned to the control group did not participate in the Accounting Exercise. Findings The findings indicate that the Accounting Exercise provided stimuli in maintaining students’ learning motivation. This finding is important for entry-level students where learning motivation has the potential to influence students’ future decisions on major areas of study and career choices. Originality/value This finding is important for entry-level students where future career options are decided. This effect is also believed to contribute to reducing the declining numbers of students in accounting majors.

Abstrak             Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model Picture and Picture dan Model Sugesti Imajinasi dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi pada siswa kelas VIII SMP. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 5 Banjarnegara. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII-D kelompok eksperimen 1 menggunakan model Picture and Picture dan VIII-C Kelompok eksperimen 2 menggunakan model Sugesti Imajinasi. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experimental design dengan bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Picture and Picture lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan model Sugesti Imajinasi dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi pada siswa kelas VIII SMP.   Kata Kunci: model picture and picture, model sugesti imajinasi, teks puisi.   Abstract This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Picture and Picture Model and Imagination Suggestion Model in learning to write poetry for eight-grade students of Junior High School. The population in this study were eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Banjarnegara. The samples of this study were the class VIII-D students as in the experimental group 1 using the Picture and Picture and VIII-C as in the experimental group 2 using the Imagination Suggestion model. The design used in this research is quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The results showed that the Picture and Picture model was more effective than the Imagination Suggestion model in learning to write poetry for the eighth-grade students of Junior High School.

The problem of this research is whether the application of cooperative learning method is effective in reducing student’s anxiety in learning Math at grade VII at the topic of round numbers. The objective of the research is to know the effectiveness of cooperative learning in reducing student’s anxiety in learning Math at the topic of round numbers at grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Baubau. This research is descriptive quantitative by applying quasi experimental design. The sample taken consisted of 54 students which is each group consisted of 27 students. The instrument used in this research is test. The result of the research show that (1)The mean score of students learning in Math in experimental group before treatment is 56,48 with standard of deviation is 18,65 and after treatment is 83,70 with standard of deviation is 15,54. (2)The mean score of students learning in Math in control group before treatment is 56,67 with standard of deviation is 17,26 and after treatment is 73,51 with standard of deviation is 17,58. (3)Based on the mean score of students result in learning who is taught through those model of learning and seeing the result of statistic inferential of t test shows that learning through cooperative learning method is more effective to reduce students anxiety in learning Math.

The present study aims the experimental design adopted in the present study is the partial control experimental design of a pre-post control group design. The present study has been limited to the fifth primary class pupils included with in the state primary schools in Baghdad during the academic year (2017-2018), The sample consists of 63 male and female 4th primary class pupils , distributed into 31 ones as an experimental group from Al-Mutanbi Primary school and 32 students as a control group Equalization. The instrument is constructing test measuring concepts acquisition consisted of (8) concepts which consists of (24) items. Experimental group pupils, who have been exposed to Strategy Analog Thinking, have been superior to those at the control group in social content material acquisition.

ABSTRAKDaun gatal (Laportea decumana) merupakan tanaman berkhasiat obat yang tumbuh subur di provinsi Papua. Efektivitas penggunaan L decumana sebagai antinyeri telah diteliti secara pra klinis maupun klinis. Namun demikian, penelitian dengan pemanfaatan langsung dari L decumana sebagai pereda myalgia pada masyarakat di kabupaten Asmat masih jarang dilakukan maka dari itu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan melihat efektivitas pemanfaatan L decumana terhadap penderita myalgia  di kampung Atsj Distrik Atsj kabupaten Asmat Provinsi Papua. Desain penelitian menggunakan quasi experimental design, dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest with control design. Sampel sejumlah 40 subjek uji (total sampling) dibagi 2 kelompok : kontrol (tanpa perlakuan) dan perlakuan (daun gatal masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 20 subjek uji. Analisis efektivitas L decumana sebagai analgesik menggunakan uji statistik Mann-Whitney test dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Derajat myalgia yang dialami oleh masyarakat kampung Atsj tergolong sedang sebanyak 19 orang (47,5%) dan berat sebesar 21 orang (52,5%). Rata-rata derajat myalgia pada kelompok perlakuan sebelum pemanfaatan L. decumana sebesar 5,80 dan setelah perlakuan menurun hingga sebesar 2,70. Daya analgetik dari L. decumana sebesar 53,45 %. Rata-rata derajat myalgia pada kelompok kontrol (tanpa perlakuan) awal 5,65 dan akhir sebesar 5,50. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dalam pemanfaatan L decumana  sebagai analgesik pada penderita myalgia di kampung Atsj, distrik Atsj, kabupaten Asmat, provinsi Papua.Perlu dilakukan pengkajian lebih lanjut terkait kandungan zat aktif dan pembuatan sediaan topikal L decumana sebagai analgesik Kata Kunci: Laportea decumana, Myalgia, kampung AtsjANALGESIC EFFECTIVENESS OF LAPORTEA DECUMANA ON MYALGIA PATIENTS AT ATSJ VILLAGE ASMAT PAPUAABSTRACTBackground Laportea Decumana is a medicinal plant that thrives in Papua. Analgesic  effectiveness of L. Decumana has been studied pre-clinically and clinically yet the research with direct utilization of L. Decumana as myalgia patient in Asmat district is still rarely done. Therefore, this research aimed to see the effectiveness of the utilization of L. Decumana to myalgia patient in ATSJ Village, Asmat, Papua. Method The research design uses quasi experimental design, with one group pretest-posttest control design. The number of participants in this research were all 40 participants consisting of 20 participants for experimental group and 20 participants for control group. The effectiveness of L. Decumana as analgesic was measured by using statistical test Mann-Whitney with level of confidence 95%. Result The degree of myalgia experienced by the ATSJ village community was moderate (19 people) (47.5%) and severe (21 people) (52.5%). The mean degree of myalgia in the treatment group prior to the utilization of L. decumana was 5.80 and after treatment decreased to 2.70. The analgesic power of L. decumana was 53.45%. The pretest mean degree of myalgia in the control group was 5.65 and the posttest was 5.50. Conclusion There is a significant influence in the utilization of L decumana as an analgesic in myalgia patients in ATSJ Village, Asmat, Papua. It is necessary to conduct further study related to active substance content and topical dosage form of L decumana as analgesic.Keywords: Laportea Decumana, Myalgia, ATSJ Village

This study focuses on the impact of the type of form-focused instruction (FFI) on its efficiency in mastering L2forms. The hypothesis that FFI, which induces structural and metalinguistic salience on the basis of contrastiveanalysis of the learner’s L1 and L2, would be particularly effective at facilitating the acquisition of difficult L2 formswas tested in a quasi-experimental study comparing the effectiveness of two types of FFI, one with and one without acontrastive component. The contrastive FFI explicitly drew learners’ attention to the cross-linguistic differences inthe tense-aspect systems of their L2 and L1 while the non-contrastive treatment only focused on the tense-aspectsystem of the L2. The effects of these two types of FFI were assessed by analyzing the learners’ pre-test and post-testperformance on two tasks differing in the extent to which they involve the activation of explicit and implicitlinguistic knowledge: a grammatical judgment task and a controlled translation task. The subjects of the studycomprised of 43 students majoring in English language in the Iranian capital university, Tehran, 22 were selected asfor experimental group and 21 for control group randomly. The results of the study revealed that the quantitativeanalysis of the Grammatical Judgment Test (GJT) data indicated no significant effect of CFFI due to the novelty ofthe translatory technique, or the potential individual differences in the learning orientation of the learners. On thecontrary, the qualitative analysis indicated differential effects of this type of FFI according to the nature of targetform, i.e. CFFI was beneficial in raising the grammatical judgment of Persian Learners of English (PLE) regardingpresent perfect form but not effective in their judgment of ungrammatical progressive forms. In terms of translationtask, the CFFI appeared to be effective in the correct use of the target structures by PLE. This may be mainly due tothe fact that Translation Test (TT) needed explicit knowledge which was presented in CFFI and that translation is acontrastive activity in nature.

The quest for better strategies in teaching is a never-ending process. This scenario is heightened more by the myriad online instructional materials fit for classroom use. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of video lecture materials for statistics proficiency of first year students of Davao Doctors College.The researchers employed quasi-experimental design that involved purposively chosen 31 students for the control group and 26 students for the experimental group. The control group received traditional instruction while the experimental group utilized video lecture materials as the instructional tool. The questionnaire consisted 50 multiple choice items and established a reliability index of .82. This investigation used t-test analysis to establish the same level of statistics proficiency among the students before the conduct of the study. The study concluded that both learning strategies were effective in teaching students the basic concepts of statistics as indicated by the significant improvement of their pre-test to posttest scores. Although the posttest results of the students who were taught using video lecture materials were higher than those supervised using lecture method, the significance of this difference was never established. This thesis is entitled "The Use of Transition Action Details Strategy in Teaching Writing Ability to the Eighth Grade Students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Rawabening". The objective of this study was to know whether or not there are any significant differences between the student who are taught by using the Transition Action Details Strategy and the student who is not taught by using it. This study used an experimental method, a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study was 47 students, and the sample was 47 students was taken by using purposive sampling, those were 24 students of the experimental group and 23 students of the control group. Based on the calculation by using an independent t-test by using SPSS 16, The writer found that t-obtained was higher than t-table (2.868>2.014) at the significant level a=0.05 in two-tailed testing. It meant that there were any significant differences between the experimental group and the control group. So, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypotheses (Ha) were accepted. It can be concluded that Transition Actions Details Strategy was significant in teaching writing ability to the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Rawabening.
