The problem for the research. Modern social contract requires linguistic departments and universities to create the most favourable conditions for teaching students oral productive foreign-language speech in order to develop their universal, general professional and professional competencies. The problem of the research is connected with the solution of the issues of selection and organization of speech material, adequate to the tasks of teaching speaking at the Linguistics Department to ensure interpersonal, intercultural and professional interaction of students. Methods of investigation. Experimental teaching students foreign-language speaking on the basis of the principles of selection and organization of speech material, proposed in the article, was carried out at the Linguistics Department of Vyatka State University (32 first-year students, speciality 44.03.05 Pedagogical Education (with two profiles), the training focus “English, German”). Quantitative and qualitative criteria for evaluating students’ monologic and dialogical speech were developed. The criteria were reflected in the subsystem of informative and analytical training exercises, as well as speech ones on the controlled use of materials of educational conversational texts, on working with model dialogues, for teaching prepared and spontaneous oral speech. The findings of the study. The results of the experimental work indicate that the proficiency in foreign-language monologic speech (cycle 1) increased in 56% of students; dialogical speech (cycle 2) – in 66 %. The calculation of G-criterion of signs revealed that at the end of the 1st cycle Gemp. ≤ Gcr. (0 ≤ 5); at the end of the 2nd one Gemp. ≤ Gcr. (0 ≤ 6). This indicates that the shift in the typical direction in our case is not accidental, and with 95 % of confidence it can be stated that it is due to the conduct of experimental work. Conclusions. The purpose of the article is achieved. It presents the typology of speech material for teaching foreign-language speaking at the Linguistics Department; the principles and products of its selection and organization. It is proved that taking into account the proposed principles improves the quality of teaching an oral productive type of foreign-language speech activity and contributes to the development of universal, general professional and professional competencies of students.

The relevance of the research is determined by the need to find new methods of teaching a foreign language in the context of the transition to an online learning environment, which will contribute to ensuring an appropriate level of development of future specialists' communicative foreign competence. The purpose of the study is to determine the features of the development of students' phonetic competence in online German classes on the example of the pedagogical activity of teachers of the I.I. Mechnikov Odessa National University. The study of the selected problems was carried out in two stages based on logical and system approaches using general scientific methods, including the method of analysis, synthesis, comparison, concretisation, systematisation, and the method of analogies. It was identified that the modern educational space is characterised by the digitalisation of the educational process, as a result of which approaches to teaching a foreign language are changing. The paper considers foreign practices of using multimedia technologies in foreign language classes to form students' auditory and pronunciation skills in online learning. The necessity of changing the conventional methods of teaching an introductory phonetic course in a foreign language according to the requirements of distance learning was substantiated. It was established that the key factor in the development of auditory and pronunciation skills in online German classes is the use of video and audio materials (video conferences and messengers), animated images of articulation of sounds, as well as a system of exercises for the practical application of the theoretical knowledge obtained. On the example of teaching an introductory phonetic course in German for first-year students of the Department of International Relations of the I.I. Mechnikov Odessa National University, the basic principles of using mobile applications in the process of distance learning, including Padlet, LearningApps, Voki, PicVoice, and ChatterPix are described. The prospects for further research lie in the practice of using the online environment of an introductory German phonetic course among students of related specialisations

The methodology for determining the level of physical development of students was based on previously conducted studies to determine the integrated index of working capacity of students. According to this methodology (the basis of which was made by the standards of the GTO complex as scientifically based), a block of control tests was developed that characterize the general speed-power working capacity with elements of flexibility and taking into account age peculiarities: cross (3000 m for boys and 2000 m for girls), standing long jumps, dipping up from gymnastic bench, leaning forward standing on the gymnastic bench (palms touch below the plane of the bench) and measurements: pulse, blood pressure, waist – according to the classification of the World Health Organization. Having placed seven levels of control test indicators in the table, we received a level-point table for assessing the indicators of physical development of students. The first-year students of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishment of Higher Education Yaroslavl State Agricultural Academy of the main medical group participated in physical development monitoring at classes in elective disciplines in physical training and sports from September 2019 to March 2020. The sample value was 100 results for each type of test. The developed test block is simple in technical execution and accuracy of metric control. Comparing the data on the level of students' physical development obtained during monitoring with the interval-level assessment, the results were obtained for both boys and girls "above average". The developed technique can be used for an integrated assessment of the physical development of students at various stages of training, which allows making adjustments to the educational process of physical education.
