Ayurveda is the science of life, guiding in maintaining health and curing of diseases by balancing doshas-dhatus-malas and jatharagni. Ahara, nidra and brahmacharya form the pillars of health as per Ayurveda. Lifestyle diseases are those diseases whose occurrence is based on the daily habits of people and are a result of an inappropriate relationship of people with their environment. The main factors contributing to lifestyle diseases include bad food habits, physical inactivity and disturbed biological clock. Occupational lifestyle diseases include those caused by the factors present in the vicinity of pollutants. These factors are also responsible for environmental allergies. So, a healthy lifestyle must be adopted with a proper balanced diet, physical activity and by giving due respect to biological clock. Healthy lifestyle methods are now easily achievable with nutritional counselling, exercise training, de-addiction programmes, regular medical check-ups and stress management techniques. Ayurveda provides better solution in the guidelines of proper dietary management, lifestyle advises, panchakarma procedures like detoxification and bio-purification procedures, medicaments and rejuvenation therapies. In this revolutionized era, we cannot stop doing the developmental work, but we can certainly reduce our ailments with simple and effective measures in our lives as suggested in Ayurveda, the science of life.

Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) are one of the foremost causes of deaths across the world. This review aims to evaluate the genetics and risk factors involved in CVDs and to assess the preventive measures which can be taken for diminishing the chances of developing CVDs. The goal of this review is to provide researchers and clinicians dealing with vascular disorders with a compendium of data about the genetic causes, risk factors, and preventive strategies to combat the development of CVDs. We searched online databases including PubMed for peer-reviewed scientific papers, case studies and review articles related to CVDs, emphasizing on the role of genetics and risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, smoking, alcohol consumption, obesity, age & gender in the progression of CVDs, and reviewing the role of diet and exercise in the prevention of CVDs. Managing the risk factors involved in CVDs is the most essential step for the inhibition of vascular diseases. Healthy lifestyle interventions consisting of a well-balanced diet and physical activity are very critical for the prevention of CVDs. Trials carried out on model organisms have indicated a direct link between diet and exercise on cardiovascular conditions. Strategies involved in the treatment of vascular diseases should also include low-fat diet plans like consumption of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, yogurts and avoiding high-saturated fat-containing foods with the addition of performing moderate aerobic exercises including cycling, swimming, hiking, and running to eliminate the root of the problem.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to propose a research framework to examine the effects of consumer consciousness, food safety concern and healthy lifestyle on the attitudes toward eating “green” simultaneously in a single study. Besides, the mediating role of healthy lifestyle in forming a positive attitude toward eating “green” is also examined in this study.Design/methodology/approachA questionnaire-based approach was applied in this study. The unit of analysis was individual consumer (aged 18 years and above) who lived in Klang Valley, Malaysia. PLS-SEM was used to test the structural relationship of the constructs in the model based on the 300 useable data collected.FindingsThe results indicated that health consciousness, food safety concern and healthy lifestyle have a significant effect on attitudes toward eating “green”, whereas environmental and price consciousness did not have such effect. A healthy lifestyle also mediates the relationship between health consciousness and attitude toward eating “green”. An individual’s healthy lifestyle that focused on physical health-related activities will increase the effect of consumer health consciousness on their attitudes toward eating “green”.Practical implicationsThe outcome of this study provided deeper insights for firms to assess the feasibility of entering or expanding their operations in the green market with more enduring and effective sales and marketing strategies.Originality/valueConsumers’ acceptance of or resistance toward organic food had become the centre of the research focus by the academician and the industrial practitioners over the years, despite the inconsistencies of the results obtained to predict such behavior. In this study, besides examining the direct effect of the proposed variables on the attitudes toward eating “green”, the mediating role of a healthy lifestyle in forming such attitudes was also examined.

Background: Nutrition plays a vital role in life. Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. A healthy pregnancy diet will promote your baby's growth and development. The purpose of this study was to highlight the knowledge, attitude and practices of pregnant women regarding the healthy diet, psychological support, regular visits, danger signs and complications during pregnancy among mothers who visit our hospital along with different socio demographic factors.Methods: This study was conducted on 350 antenatal women from January 2016 to February 2017 at Tamil Nadu, India. A 24 point- 15 minutes’ questionnaire was designed about the knowledge, attitude and practice about the nutrition, danger signs and complications in pregnancy.Results: Around 98% of women were very clear that nutrition is necessary in pregnancy and 53% of them told that the quantity of food intake should be increased. Major source of knowledge about the nutrition was obtained from the family members (81%). The common danger sign was abdominal pain (61%) followed by bleeding per vaginum (22%). About 77% of mothers had an idea that minimum of 6-10 visit should be there in their antenatal period.Conclusions: This study emphasizes that health professionals should concentrate more in the nutritional values and the antenatal classes should be taken regarding the role of adequate nutrition, constituents and sources of balanced diet and the consequences of over and under nutrition.

Lifestyle diseases are the burning problem today. The disease-causing lifestyles are Gramya achara, Apatarpana achara and Santarpana achara. The diseases which are caused due to such acharas are called lifestyle diseases. This is usually caused by unhealthy dietary habits and lack of physical exercise, leading to excess generation of Kapha and Medas. When this Kapha and Medas start accumulating in various parts of the body, it leads to Vyadhisankara / Aupasargika roga. Aupasargika roga includes Purvothpanna vyadhi / Purvarupa vyadhi and Upadrava vyadhi. Such type of Aupasargika roga is Urusthambha where the pathology can be divided into Purvarupa and Upadrava. Chikitsa also follows the pathology of the disease. The same has been attempted to capture in the below conceptual study. Abstract Background There is little evidence on how healthy lifestyle factors can explain the variation in the proportion of patients reverting to normal glucose regulation according to type of prediabetesAims To study the role of lifestyle factors on the reversion to normal glucose regulation according to type of prediabetes.Design and Setting Observational prospective cohort study. The Cohort study in Primary Health Care on the Evolution of Patients with Prediabetes from2012-2015Methods Participants were classified, according to the definition established by ADA using either fasting plasma glucose (FPG) levels between 100-125 mg/dL or HbA1c between 39-47 mmol/mol (5.7%–6.4%), in three groups. Reversion to normal glucose regulation was calculated at third year of follow-up. Relationship of lifestyle factor and type of prediabetes with reversion was estimated by means of Odds Ratios (OR) using three sequential models.Results Proportion of reversion rates were 31% for FPG group, 31% for HbA1c group and 7.9% for both altered parameters group, respectively. BMI<25 kg/m2[OR (95% CI): 1.90 (1.20-3.01)], high adherence to Mediterranean diet 1.78 (1.21-2.63) and absence of abdominal obesity 1.70 (1.19-2.43) were the strongest lifestyle predictors for reversion. Compared with those with both altered parameters, OR of reversion of prediabetes was 4.87 (3.10-7.65) for FPG group and 3.72 (2.39-5.78) for HbA1c group. These estimates remained almost the same after further adjustment for biochemical parameters and lifestyle factors.Conclusions Although optimal lifestyle factors showed to be a positive predictor, those do not seem to explain the differences according to the type of prediabetes.

In an article there are discussed some aspects of negative changes in the health status of children, adolescents and young people. Taking into account the literature data on the revealed relationship of this dynamics with the health culture of the younger generation, it is proposed to solve the problem of preserving and strengthening the health status of schoolchildren by forming a culture of a healthy lifestyle of students. There is considered the role of hygienic training of students of a pedagogical university as future teachers in the system of higher education. Its peculiarity is the presence of a double translation of the competence of health formation, which is carried out on the one hand, first by improving the hygienic literacy of students studying in a pedagogical college, creating favorable conditions for their life, study and work, and on the other hand, by education of schoolchildren by them.

Background: Epidemiological transitions cause changes in disease trends from transmitted diseases to non-communicable diseases. One disease that continues to increase in prevalence and have a high-risk complication, namely hypertension. This disease has key risk factor namely lifestyle. The role of lifestyle on the incidence of hypertension is very close, especially in the community city. Surabaya has the highest prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia but has a prevalence and the role of lifestyle to the coastal and mountainous regions has not been studied so has not it is known whether hypertension is only concentrated in urban areas or also has an impact for coastal and mountainous regions.Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine relationship between the Healthy Lifestyle Index score to the occurrence of hypertension in mountainous, coastal, and urban communities.Method: This study was a cross sectional observational study. The samples in this study were 30 people in the coastal community, 30 people in the mountain community and 30 people in the urban community. All of respondents visiting the Supporting Public Health Center of Gili Ketapang, Supporting Public Health Center of Wonotoro, and Public Health Center of Kebonsari. Lifestyle assessment use the Tube version of Healthy Lifestyle Index (HLI) (2015) which consists of domains quality of the diet, physical activity, smoking behavior, and BMI. Data analysis uses statistical tests chi square test to determine the relationship HLI scores with the incidence of hypertension.Result: The relationship of HLI scores with the incidence of hypertension in mountainous communities, hypertension caused by smoking, while hypertension in coastal communities is caused because of eating patterns and lack of activity, hypertension in urban communities is caused due to unhealthy eating patterns, smoking, lack of activity and obesity.Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the Healthy Lifestyle Index score with the incidence of hypertension in mountainous, coastal and urban areas. Key words: Lifestyle, Hypertension, Mountains, Urban, Coastal.

Having understood what a diet is and why it is necessary, it will be easier to adhere to your own daily routine, which is a good incentive. After all, regularity has a lot of advantages. Since compliance with the diet is an important component of a healthy lifestyle, like regular sleep. It is enough to draw up a daily routine and clearly follow the food intake schedule for a week, so that the body is rebuilt to a new rhythm. Eating food every day at the same time, the body develops a conditioned reflex, due to which appetite is excited in a timely manner, which is not unimportant with 4-6 meals a day. Rational nutrition can significantly improve the athlete’s body condition, optimizing the processes occurring in him, and vice versa, up to diseases and injuries. The optimal satisfaction of the body's nutritional needs under heavy loads is an important prerequisite for solving the problems of physical fitness. A huge amount of training in sports makes it very difficult to organize a balanced diet for highly qualified athletes. Nevertheless, observing the diet, eating food from 4-6 times a day, you can ensure a uniform supply of nutrients. The authors of this article tried to review and analyze the available scientific literature to propose their concept of the distribution of daily caloric needs, taking into account the daily routine, in the training process of highly qualified athletes.

This study aimed to explore the relationships between attachment styles, proximity, and relational satisfaction. This was achieved by assessing a distinct type of long distance romantic relationship of flying crews, compared with proximal (non-flying crew) romantic relationships. The responses of 139 expatriate professionals revealed significant associations between proximity and anxious and avoidant attachment dimensions. The role of the avoidant dimension in comparison with that of the anxious dimension was found to be a significant predictor of relational satisfaction. This study contributes significantly toward addressing the role of proximity and attachment in relational satisfaction in a new context of geographic separation.
