This research aims to describe the influences of TPS model and reading interest of class VIII student of SMP Negeri 31 Padang about their skills of writing explanatory text. This research type is quantitative research with 2x2 factorial experiment design. The population of this research is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 31 Padan. The data collects by using two methods. The analysis and discussion of the data apply descriptive-analysis method in accordance with the concept of experimental research. Based on the research the writer concludes that from explanatory text writing, the students who have high reading interest and low reading interest whom applies TPS model have higher reading interest than the students that using conventional learning methods. Furthermore, there is no interaction between TPS model with reading interest in influencing the learning outcomes of the students' in explanatory text writing skills.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the reading skills of explanatory text understanding of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. Second, describe the explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. Third, describing reading correlation understanding explanatory text with explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Middle School. This article was written to describe reading skills in understanding explanatory texts with explanatory text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP N 2 Batusangkar. This type of research is quantitative research using descriptive methods. The research design used is correlational. The population in this study was the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Batusangkar who were enrolled in the 2017/2018 academic year totaling 245 students. Samples were taken using proportional random sampling. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the correlation between reading skills comprehension of explanatory texts and explanatory text writing skills of class VIII Batusangkar 2 Junior High School with 95% evidence with n-1 degrees of freedom; t-count> t-table (5.55)> (1.68). This research is a research follow class by using the secound cycle that there is the first cycle and cycle II. On the cycle I and cycle II each cycle there four stage of the (1) planning, (2) implementation of action, (3) observations, and (4) reflection. Each cycle has two meetings in one week, namely the first meeting and the second meeting with the allocation 2 x 40 minutes of each meeting. Subject in research is learners class VIII G SMPN 24 Surabaya totaling 37 learners contained 16 learners men and 21 learners woman. This school is located in Jl. Kebraon Indah Permai Blok K/23 A Surabaya. Data collection techniques to use the observation and test, data analysis technique using the percentage of. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that using pictorial writing media on the meme on Instagram can improve the writing skills of class students VIII G SMPN 24 Surabaya. This can be seen from (1) population activity in the cycle I 84,61% on the cycle II 100%, (2) activity learners in cycle I 83,44% on the cycle II 90,20%, (3) the test results writing skills poerty in cycle I 56,73% one the cycle of II increased 83,70%.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to describe the average poetry writing skills in students with the application of the Mind Mapping Learning model, the average poetry writing skills in students with the application of the Learning Learning Model.The theory used in this research is a mind mapping learning model and writing poetry. The method used is an experimental method with a form of research Quasi Experimental Design. The design used is the Two-Group pretest-Posttest Only. The population in this study is class VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C while the samples are Class VIII A and VIII B. Data collection techniques used are direct observation techniques, measurement techniques, and documentation techniques as well as data collection tools namely guidelines or observation sheets poetry skills tests and documents.The results of data analysis show that the average pre-test experimental class with a total score of 69.38 while the post-test 76.38 and the pre-test control class with a total score of 60.96 while the post-test 66.88 and there is influence with evidence scores 1.13 and 1.28.The results of this study are expected to be useful for readers, especially Indonesian Language teachers in Lumar 1 Junior High School, Bengkayang Regency, students and subsequent researchers who use mind mapping learning object models. For teachers this mind mapping learning model can be used as a reference for teaching in class, especially in learning to write poetry. Keywords: Mind Mapping, Writing Poetry

Abstrak: Keterampilan berbahasa yang paling kompleks adalah keterampilan menulis. Dikatakan kompleks, karena keterampilan menulis menuntut penulis untuk dapat menyusun dan mengorganisasikan isi tulisan serta menuangkan gagasan, perasaan, dalam bentuk bahasa tulis untuk tujuan memberi tahu, meyakinkan dan menghibur para pembaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan membuat peta konsep alur dari buku fiksi dan non fiksi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII 3 SMP yang berjumlah 33 orang.Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, metode observasi, metode tugas, dan metode dokumentasi.Teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus Penilaian Acuan Patokan (PAP) dengan menentukan kemampuan individu dan kelompok. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan kemampuan membuat peta konsep alur dari buku fiksi dan nonfiksi bahwa kemampuan individu peserta didik yakni, 1) Kelompok berkemampuan tinggi 31 siswa (94%), kelompok berkemampuan sedang 2 siswa (6%), dan kelompok berkemampuan rendah tidak ada (0%). 2) Kemampuan kelompok siswa atau Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) dengan nilai 80.78 berada pada kategori tinggi dengan rentang skor 70.5-89.                           Abstract: The most complex language skills are writing skills. Said to be complex, because writing skills require writers to be able to compile and organize the contents of writing and pour ideas, feelings, in the form of written language for the purpose of informing, convincing and entertaining readers. This study aims to describe the ability to make flow map concepts from fiction and non-fiction books. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII with 33 people. Data collection methods used in this study are, observation methods, task methods, and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques used the Benchmark Reference Assessment (PAP) formula by determining individual and group abilities. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded the ability to make flow map concepts from fiction and nonfiction books for class VIII students that the individual abilities of students namely, 1) High-ability groups of 31 students (94%), capable groups moderate 2 students (6%), and low-ability groups are absent (0%). 2) The ability of a student group or Grade Point Average (GPA) with a value of 80.78 is in the high category with a score range of 70.5-89.

This research is motivated by the problem of students not being skilled in writing explanatory text. This study aims to describe the Comparison of Think Talk Write (TTW) Learning with Scramble Explanatory Text Skills of Class XI Students of SMA N I Gunung Tuleh. This type of quantitative research with experimental. The research sample was 50 students of class XI SMAN I Gunung Tuleh consisting of 24 students/experiment I and 26 students/experiment II. The data of this study were the scores of explanatory text writing skills using the Think Talk Write (TTW) Scramble model of class XI students of SMA N I GunungTuleh. The risearch results can be sumarized as follows. First, the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh with the Think Talk Write (TTW) model obtained an average of 63.33 in the range of 56-65% with sufficient qualifications (C). Second, the students' explanatory text writing skills ofclass XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh with the Scramble model obtained an average of 70.76 in the range with the qualification More than Enough (LdC). Third, based on the t-test of the hypothesis tcount>ttable (2.33> 1.67). So it can be concluded that the use of the Scramble model is better used to improve the explanatory text writing skills of class XI students of SMA N I Gunung Tuleh. Third, based results of the t-test there is a comparison of the use (TTW) with the Scramble model on the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh because tcount>ttable (2.33>1.67). So, it can be concluded that the use of the Scramble model is better used to improve the explanatory text writing skills of class XI SMA N I Gunung Tuleh.

<p align="center"><span lang="EN-US">This study aims to study whether there was interest interested in learning explanatory text writing students. This type of research is quantitative with a 2x2 <em>factorial design</em>. Students are grouped into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class in this study was in class XI IPA 1, while the control class was in XI IPA 3. The instruments used to collect data were reading interest questionnaires and performance tests for explanatory text writing skills. The results of this study are the following two things. First, explanatory text writing skills of students who have high reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have high reading interest in the control class. Second, explanatory text writing skills of students who have low reading interest in the experimental class are better than students who have low reading interest in the control class.</span></p>

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to describe the following matters. First, it describes the mastery of the vocabulary in the environmental field of class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Second, describing the explanatory writing skills of the eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Third, explaining the correlation between the mastery of environmental vocabulary and the writing skills of explanatory text for grade XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. This type of research is quantitative research with descriptive methods. Based on the results of the study, the following three things can be concluded. First, the vocabulary mastery of the environmental field of class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang is in good qualifications (77.85). Second, the explanatory text writing skills in class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang are in good qualifications (77.93). Third, there is a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery in the field of environment and writing skills in explanatory text for class XI students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang on the degree of freedom n-1 and a significant level of 95% so that it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted because the test results prove that tcount is greater ttable 4.93> 1.68. Kata Kunci:  Korelasi, Kosakata Bidang Lingkungan Hidup, Menulis Teks                     Eksplanasi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the listening skills of class VIII interview at SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Second, describing the news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of listening skills to interviews with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was Class VIII of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 51 students. The research data were test scores on interview listening skills and news text writing skills test scores. The research instrument was an objective test to measure interview listening skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the writing text skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang are in more than enough qualifications. Secondly, listening to interview skills is more than adequate. ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is to describe the skill of reading Fable Story Texts on Writing Skills for Fable Story Texts of Class VIII Students of SMP Negeri 35 Padang. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this study is design contribution. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Padang who were enrolled in the 2019/2020 school year, namely as many as 134 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 35 students. The data of this study were in the form of scores on the results of the test skills for reading fable text and tests of fable story writing skills. The data was obtained through two types of tests namely objective tests to measure the skill of reading fable story texts and performance tests to measure the writing skills of fable stories. The results of this study are three. First, the ability to read fable story texts in class VIII Padang Public Middle School 35 is in good qualification (B) with an average value of 77.55. Second, the skill to write fable story texts in grade VIII Padang Public Middle School 35 is in good qualification (B) with an average value of 73.97. Third, there is a contribution to the contribution of fable's text reading skills to the fable writing text skills of Grade VIII students of Padang State Middle School at 67.57%. It was concluded that the skill to read fable story texts contributed to the skill of writing fable story texts. Kata kunci: Kontribusi, Keterampilan membaca, Menulis, Teks Cerita Fabel
