The method applied in this PKM activity was published in several stages, namely: discussing and enforcing debates on language discipline, socialization programs to modern cottage leaders, seminars on Punishment VS Logic Consequences, followed by workshops on language safety agreements with logical consequences, Preparing relevant punishment for students who commit an offense. In the end, from the implementation of the PKM program, it is hoped that the modern boarding school will no longer use punishment consisting of punishment in the enforcement of language discipline but instead uses logical agreement, so as to increase the awareness and interest of students in learning foreign languages.

AbstractWhen viewed from the domain of educational objectives, attitudes and deeds are important factors to be achieved in the learning process. Religious attitude is positive or negative affective level toward an object, like it or not, accept it or reject it, the feeling of pleasure or displeasure. The religious deed refers to religious deeds or practices, or commonly called worship. Islamic students are not only required to know something, but they also must address, live and practice it. Islamic boarding school, as one of Islamic education institutions, acknowledges that the mastery of science and technology in the globalization era is very important, but the development of attitudes and religious deeds are much more important. One of the development efforts that must to be done is by offering a development model of attitudes and religious deeds in Nurul Haq Islamic Boarding School, Kerinci, Jambi.

This study addresses the use of translation as an auxiliary pedagogical method in the teaching and learning of Languages for Specific Purposes. This article will confirm that, provided certain teaching and learning conditions are met, translation might most profitably be employed in language teaching as one teaching tool among others. At the same time that pedagogical translation has come to regain respectability in the process of teaching and learning foreign languages, another issue is also coming to the fore: the repositioning of the mother tongue’s role in the foreign languages teaching and learning process. These ideas have been advanced by several scholars, confirmed by the author’s experience and are also corroborated by the survey conducted for the purposes of this study.

The article touches upon the problems of teaching English as a third foreign language in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia. The students’ mother tongue, in this case, is Armenian. Russian is the first foreign language and French is the second one. Considering the fact that the students’ 2nd (French) and 3rd (English) foreign languages have significant similarities that can cause both positive transfer and negative interference, the teaching/learning process of English should be organized by paying special attention to the similarities and taking into account certain peculiarities. Accordingly, the use of correctly selected exercises can help in organizing the teaching/learning process more quickly and effectively. The author also introduces some “dangerous” language phenomena that may bring about undesirable interference in learning English after French. In addition, a number of exercise samples are provided that might be used to develop the students’ lexical, grammatical and phonological competences in teaching/learning English as a third foreign language.

This type of study is descriptive qualitative one. Data are collected through interview, observation, and documentation. The collected data was analyzed by means of the interactive model (interactive model) of Miles and Huberman. (1) The teacher explains in advance the material to be taught using the deductive method. (2) The teacher gives examples of what has been explained before. (3) The teacher asks the students to memorize qowaid and vocabulary contained in the sentences or text they are learning. (4) The teacher will not move from one rule to another before the students really understand one rule first. The Qowaid learning methods used in the perspective of cognitive theory, namely; (1) the Nahw wa Tarjamah Method (Grammar Translation), (2) the deductive method, (3) the question and answer method, (4) and the bahtsul masa'il method.

However, along with the times, pesantren have not only opened religious-based schools, but also public schools that provide general knowledge (natural, social, and language) to their students. Educational formalities in pesantren were also proposed so that pesantren alumni could continue their education to public schools. There are three main problems in this paper by reconstructing the pesantren education system, as follows; (1) the relationship between pesantren and the outside world, (2) the relationship between pesantren and science and technology, and (3) the epistemology of Islamic Science in Pesantren Sains (Trensains). The qualitativedescriptive method is the choice in this study. This research is a qualitative field study with case studies. In order to obtain comprehensive data and pay attention to the relationship between the data and the focus and objectives of the research, data collection in this study used three techniques, namely (1) interviews, (2) participant observation: (3) research documentation. Research activities in data analysis include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. From this research, it can be found that the interaction of science and technology with science cannot be denied. So pesantren must be prepared to deal with it. There are several Islamic boarding schools that have interacted with science and technology, both of which have greatly influenced the style of education, one of which is the Tebuireng Science Boarding School (Trensains). Santri are invited to study religion (Qur'an) as well as to study the verses of Kauniyah contained in it.Keywords: Interaction, Pesantren, Science, Technology

Although knowledge of foreign languages is now becoming increasingly necessary, language education in most parts of the world (with few exceptions) seems to be rather inefficient. This paper attempts to define the most common problems of general language instruction and their possible solutions. In the first part, linguistic, psychological, methodological and external factors affecting the learning process are singled out. In the second part, it is discussed how these problems could be solved and some practical measures are proposed.

In this contribution we show that foreign language acquisition research does not only provide theoretical insights into the learning process of foreign languages, but also provides useful tips that are directly relevant to language teaching, especially if research is conducted with the 'integrated contrastive model'. We illustrate how the model can be applied in studies of the interlanguage of French-speaking learners of Dutch and Dutch learners of French concentrating on the phonological, morphological and pragmatic components of language. Finally, we explore possible classroom teaching activities and techniques that follow from our study.
