However, along with the times, pesantren have not only opened religious-based schools, but also public schools that provide general knowledge (natural, social, and language) to their students. Educational formalities in pesantren were also proposed so that pesantren alumni could continue their education to public schools. There are three main problems in this paper by reconstructing the pesantren education system, as follows; (1) the relationship between pesantren and the outside world, (2) the relationship between pesantren and science and technology, and (3) the epistemology of Islamic Science in Pesantren Sains (Trensains). The qualitativedescriptive method is the choice in this study. This research is a qualitative field study with case studies. In order to obtain comprehensive data and pay attention to the relationship between the data and the focus and objectives of the research, data collection in this study used three techniques, namely (1) interviews, (2) participant observation: (3) research documentation. Research activities in data analysis include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. From this research, it can be found that the interaction of science and technology with science cannot be denied. So pesantren must be prepared to deal with it. There are several Islamic boarding schools that have interacted with science and technology, both of which have greatly influenced the style of education, one of which is the Tebuireng Science Boarding School (Trensains). Santri are invited to study religion (Qur'an) as well as to study the verses of Kauniyah contained in it.Keywords: Interaction, Pesantren, Science, Technology

This study aims to explain and identify the methods used in internalizing Islamic characters in boarding-based public schools. Public schools that implement a boarding system have a unique and special character. It is different from Islamic education which has been firmly embedded in schools that have been based on pesantren since the beginning. This research is descriptive qualitative, with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that internalization of Islamic characters through subjects in the dormitory, such as the study of classical Islamic books (Fiqhu Sunnah, Aqidatul Awwan, Bidayatul Mujtahid, etc) and self-development activities in the form of extracurricular and organizational activities. The used methods are the wisdom method, exemplary method, habitual method, mauidzah method, and the reward and punishment method. Unlike pesantren culture which is closely tied to the figure of the kyai, the dormitory-based State Islamic schools tend to be weak in terms of the initiative and charisma of the kyai who the leaders are. Individually, kyai figures in boarding-based public boarding schools do not have as strong a role as those in pesantren. However, the ustad and coach figures play a collective and joint role in building students' Islamic character. Keywords: Islamic Character, Madrasah Aliyah, Boarding System, Public Schools

Departing from the covid-19 pandemic that is hitting humans today, all sectors of life seem to be experiencing shocks, especially education. The learning process that should be carried out directly between teachers and students, has now been transferred to an online system. The existence of major changes in the current education system has forced teachers to mobilize all their potential as educators by teaching using technology. Especially faith education, teachers are required to be able to provide faith education to their students as in face-to-face learning in the past. This is of course a new responsibility for teachers. However, in this limited condition, the teacher's work will be greatly helped by the support from the parents who are always by their children's side. It is a joint task between teachers and parents in optimizing the process of creed education for students. Keywords: Creed, Technology, and Pandemic
