This study aims to describe the reading interest of elementary school students 01 and the factors that influence the reading interest of elementary school 01. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were elementary school students 01. Data collection was carried out using the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation. Interest in reading elementary school students is still low. Based on the results of the study concluded that: reading interest of elementary school students 01 is still low. Judging from the level of student visits to the library that are rarely done. Students prefer to be in class, tell stories with friends, compared to reading books to the library. The low reading interest of students is due to students lacking feelings, attention to books and the benefits of reading, as well as motivation from themselves and from others (the environment). The factors that influence students' mint reading are factors: internal factors (feelings, attention and motivation). The steps taken are by giving motivation, continuous attention to elementary school students 01 and attention to increase reading interest. Factors that influence reading interest from outside consist of the role of teacher, environment, family and facilities. A teacher should use the theory or component of learning strategies as a learning principle so that the learning process can be accepted by students well and more easily. The existence of a library in the school, where the library is a learning resource that is expected to foster interest in reading for students, then it should be managed well, for example a more attractive library design and provide many picture books that can improve the student's motor skills.

Reading interest is very important for students in the learning process. This study aimed to determine the correlations between reading self concept and students reading interest. In this study, the researcher used two scales namely scaleof reading self concept, and scale of students interest in reading. The population in this study were all students of grade3,4,5 at X Sleman Elementary School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The sampling technique in this study was incidentalsampling with a sample size of 124. The results of the analysis show that there is a correlation between reading self concept and students reading interest with an r value of 0.855 (p = 0.01). It is important for elementary school students to form a reading self concept so that a high reading self concept will increase students reading interest.

This study aims to determine the effect of library services on elementary school students 'reading interest and how its significance. This research method uses quantitative methods with the "product moment" correlation type. The population in this study were all students of SDN Teja Barat 1 Pamekasan which are 197 students totally. The sample in this study was 60 students taken by random sampling. The size of sample is 60 students. Data collection was collected by questionnaires and interviews. Analysis of research data used "product moment" correlation analysis, which library services as the independent variable and elementary school students' reading interest as the dependent variable. The results of the study showed that: (1) There is an effect of library services on students' reading interest. It showed from the results of data analysis, that the value of "r" count 0.640 is greater than "r" table of product moment, weather in the 5% confidence interval = 0.254 or 1% = 0.330. (2) The library services influences the students' reading interest a significance contribution, that is 40.96% and the remaining 59.04% was influenced by other factors. So the increase of library services, also increasing the students' reading interest.

The analysis used is Pearson product moment correlation analysis and regression analysis. Findings - the results of the analysis show (1) There is a positive relationship between self-concept of reading with reading interest in students with a correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.652 (p <0.01) with a contribution of 42.5%; (2) there is a positive relationship between the perception of parental involvement with reading interest in students with a correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.697 (p <0.01) with a contribution of 48.6% and there is a relationship between the concept of self-reading and perception of parental involvement stimulants with interest in reading with a value of r = 0.690; F = 28,383; (p <0.01) with a contribution of 56.3% to interest in reading. The score of reading interest category is in the medium category with 83.00%, while the self-concept reading variable is in the high category with 59.70% and the perception variable of parental involvement is in the medium category with 93.00%. Abstract Introduction: Issues of urgency in learning include interest in reading and social skills in primary schools. Interest in reading and social skills are some of the basic things that are always integrated into all learning. Therefore, learning requires appropriate media to overcome these problems, one of which is a sociocultural-based reflective picture storybook (SRPS) media. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to know the importance of SRPS media to increase the reading interest and social skills of elementary school students. Methods: In the paper, the method of a comparative literature review is applied. Conclusion: This concludes that SRPS media is important to increase the reading interest and social skills of elementary school students. To improve social skills and reading fondness, a media that is suitable for the characteristics of students is needed. Students’ interest in pictorial stories can be used as a solution to overcome the problem of low social skills and students’ fondness of reading characters that need to be improved. SRPS media is important to be developed in future research.
