AbstractWhen viewed from the domain of educational objectives, attitudes and deeds are important factors to be achieved in the learning process. Religious attitude is positive or negative affective level toward an object, like it or not, accept it or reject it, the feeling of pleasure or displeasure. The religious deed refers to religious deeds or practices, or commonly called worship. Islamic students are not only required to know something, but they also must address, live and practice it. Islamic boarding school, as one of Islamic education institutions, acknowledges that the mastery of science and technology in the globalization era is very important, but the development of attitudes and religious deeds are much more important. One of the development efforts that must to be done is by offering a development model of attitudes and religious deeds in Nurul Haq Islamic Boarding School, Kerinci, Jambi.AbstrakBila ditinjau dari domain tujuan pendidikan, sikap dan amal merupakan faktor penting yang ingin dicapai dalam proses pembelajaran. Sikap keagamaan merupakan tingkat afektif yang positif atau nega­tif terhadap suatu objek, suka atau tidak suka, menerima atau menolak, rasa senang atau tidak senang. Amal keagamaan merupakan perbuatan atau praktik keagamaan, atau biasa disebut dengan ibadah. Santri tidak saja dituntut untuk mengetahui sesuatu, tetapi juga harus menyikapi, menghayati serta mengamalkannya. Pesantren sebagai salah satu lembaga pendidikan Islam, penguasaan ilmu pengeta­huan dan teknologi dalam era globalisasi sangat penting, tapi pengembangan sikap dan amal keagamaan jauh lebih penting. Salah satu upaya pengembangan yang harus dilakukan yaitu dengan menawarkan model pengembangan sikap dan amal keagamaan di Pondok Pesantren Nurul Haq Kerinci Jambi.

Islamic Boarding school is an islamic education institution which has an identical tradition in indonesian muslim societuy. This institution has emerged long before the colonialism era in Indonesia. In its long history since years to pursue the concept of modernism, islamic boarding school, sometimes ,has also been perceived negatively because of transnasionalism ideology which is adopted in recent years. In that case, this paper aimed to describe the existence of islamic boarding school in indonesian social life. By argumenting and comparing some previous studies in this case to gain an accurate result. Moreover, this paper is intended to answer some western perception about islamic boarding school in Indonesia, and finally emphasize the role of islamic boarding school as a government partner and its function in creating democracy.  Keyword: Islamic Boarding School, Tradition, Modernization.

This research aims to promote the development of the character of learning community at Madrasah Tsanawiyah of Bantul Regency Yogyakarta, and two problems posed to be addressed: why the character of community learning pattern does not realize as it has been expected, and how does the development of the character of learning community at MTs of Bantul look like? The research uses the Research and Development model that is consisted of four stages: exploration, development, tests, and dissemination. The data were collected by means of observatiosn, interviews, questionaire, and review of documentation. The results show: (1) the character of learning community at the MTs in Bantul Regency has not been fully established because the teachers were not active in preparing their lesson study, and they did not benefit from it. Also, they were too busy in fulfilling their obligations as teachers; (2) the development of the character of learning community at MTs in Bantul could be implemented through Classroom Action Research-based lesson study plans which are consisted of five stages: consolidation of lesson study concepts, explanation of Classroom Action Research as a form of scientific publication, planning, implementation of action, and reflection.

Nurhakim *)Fakultas Agama Islam UMMABSTRACTThe study described Imam Zarkasyi’s reconstruction thought about Islamic boarding schoolreformation. The study aimed at exploring Zarkasyi’s thought to be implemented as Islamiceducation reformation model for Islamic society modernization. The limitations of the study wereZarkasyi’s curriculum, empowerment on organizational management, and ethics training in Islamicboarding school. The finding revealed in three main points. First, Zarkasyi’s believed that IslamicEducation curriculum were to cover both religious principles, and modern sciences as well. Thus,the students were expected to master both Arabic and English. Second, organizational and charity(wakaf) management required significant improvement to strengthen Islamic boarding schoolinstitution in accordance to modern principles. Third, Islamic education boarding schools were toemphasize on values of sincerity, simplicity, independence, solidarity, and freedom to raise theawareness of the ethics in Islamic education schools. Arabic is the language of Muslim’s holy book, and reading  it is obligatory for Muslims. In Islamic education, Arabic is the language that should be mastered as a means of understanding the original texts of the source of Islamic law. One of the important thing in learning Arabic is the method. Zam-Zam Muhammadiyyah Modern Islamic Boarding School implements a diffent model and method of learning Arabic compared to other Islamic boarding schools in the district of Cilongok. This is a qualitative research, through a case study using interview, observation and documentation techniques for collecting data and interactive analysis for analying data. The findings of this research are three models of Arabic learning in Pondok Pesantren. The first model is khiwar or muhadatsah, the second is mufrodat walls intended to make students familiar with Arabic vocabulary, and the third is Lughoh. The method and model of Arabic learning in the institution as described above is a combined method. There are at least three methods used, i.e. Communicative Problem-Based Learning Method, Audiolingual Method, and Grammar-Translation Method.

Pesantren, the Islamic boarding school, is the oldest Islamic education in Indonesia and is constantly undergoing changes from time to time. This research uses the qualitative approach. This study aims to describe the application of the heutagogy method in the growth of pesantren education. The results of this study indicate that the Al-Luqmaniyyah salaf Boarding School has already applied the heutagogy learning method, it means that pesantren education precedes the Westerners in terms of its utilization. Through the study and discussion of Kitab Kuning (yellow-colored textbooks about Islamic knowledge), students determine their systems, study materials, and problems to find a solution. Sources of learning for students are not only limited by the Kitab Kuning, but students can also have access through the internet, online books and applications with trusted sources. PSDS is responsible for managing the talents and interests of the santri (a term used in Pesantren to call an apprentice), as well as training santri skills by making films, recording, creativity, writing, making advertisements, making interesting contents on social media. LP2M Al-Luqmaniyyah with its various divisions is required to channel and facilitate what the community needs from the students as they can also learn from the community it self. <p>This article explains the devolopment of Islamic education in Indonesia, especially in pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) which is salafi manhaj. It aims at finding islamic education model developed at salafi manhaj pesantren. It uses library research. This article concludes that salafi manhaj pesantren currently becomes new model of Islamic education in Indonesia. This model differs from those applied in most pesantrens in Indonesia. The factor triggering its development is the effect of the transnational of Islam. This factor can further complete the theory of Islamic education change in Indonesia proposed by Karel Steenbrink.</p><p>Artikel ini menjelaskan tentang perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Fokus pembahasannya adalah pesantren yang bermanhaj salafi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bentuk pendidikan Islam yang berkembang pada pesantren yang berideologi salafi (manhaj salafi). Kajian ini menggunakan metode kepustakaan. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwasanya pesantren bermanhaj salafi merupakan bentuk pendidikan Islam model baru di Indonesia saat ini. Model pesantren ini berbeda dengan pesantren pada umumnya yang sudah lama berkembang di Indonesia. Faktor pemicu perkembangannya adalah pengaruh dari Islam arus global, dan faktor ini dapat melengkapi teori perubahan pendidikan Islam di Indonesia menurut Karel Steenbrink.</p>

Pesantren is Islamic education institution that still be needed by the Ummah. The study of kitab kuning is an important element of it, and this generally tends to be stagnant, for various reasons. Therefore the study of the use of kitab kuning in pesantren is urgent. This research highlights the reality of kitab kuning study in boarding school, mainly Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah Ternate. This is qualitative research in which the data collection techniques are interview, observation and study of documents and literature. The analysis of the data is qualitative description. The result of this research shows that Pondok Pesantren Hidayatullah Ternate, which was established in 1994, includes a combination between Islamic boarding school system and formal education units in the form of schools and madrasas. Basically the santri are lodged. The boarding school students are junior and senior high school students, both male and female. The male and female campuses are separated by a distance of about 1 km. They are all participated in tahfidz Alquran and ta’līm diniyyah. The books studied in this boarding school are limited to 5 books that outlined by the Central Executive, regarding Aqidah, Fikih, Tafsir, Sirah and Arabic. The study of these books uses lecture method and the santris only gather and heed without having the book.

System is a set of elements of education which are related and connected each other and give influence each other to achieve a certain goal. One of attempt that can be done is through developing system of Islamic Education there, while the model is a product of developing system. Focus of this research is how implementation of the model “Rakyat Al- Amin” Islamic boarding school in Sumberpucung, Malang including some components of Islamic boarding school itself: boarding, mosque, Islamic classic books, students and kiyai. The result of this research shows the difference of the components of Islamic boarding school commonly and the components of Rakyat Islamic boarding school. In the reality Rakyat Islamic boarding school only has 3 components such as teaching Islamic classic book, students and kyai, but it doesn’t mean that the other components of Islamic boarding school are not important, the other components just have different function.
