Motorbikes are widely chosen by the public as a mode of transportation in modern times, one of which is the automatic scooter type motorcycle. Visually, the matic scooter type motorcycle components have a nice and attractive shape, but this shape does not necessarily guarantee its safety. Not a few of these components have failed (broken) as happened to the footrest. Footrest is a component of a motorcycle vehicle that functions as a footrest for motorcycle passengers. Every different type of motorbike, the footrest shape is also different. The purpose of this study is to design a footrest design and analyze it with the help of software to obtain a footrest design that has a high safety factor value. The design of the motorcycle footrest design produces 3 different designs. The three designs were analyzed using the Autodesk Inventor 2017 software stress by providing a static load of 20 Kg and 90 Kg. From the analysis, the minimum safety factor value obtained from each footrest design against a load of 20 kg in design 1 is 13.42, design 2 is 5.7, and design 3 is 7.93. While the minimum safety factor value generated from each footrest design against a load of 90 kg in design 1 is 2.98, design 2 is 1.27, and design 3 is 1.76. Based on the results of the safety factor analysis carried out, the three designs are safe enough to withstand loads of 20 Kg and 90 Kg. But design 1 is safer because the resulting value of the safety factor is higher than the three designs, which is 2.98 to withstand a load of 90 Kg.

The evolution of blockchain technology that promotes decentralised peer to peer electronic cash system named as Bitcoin is becoming trending across the globe. Although the Bitcoin price is extremely volatile, the popularity of bitcoin is seemingly unambiguous. The Bitcoin trending has garnered serious attention from the public, media and academia.  Hitherto, no research has yet systematically investigated the factors influencing the intention to invest in Bitcoin. Thus, the objective of this study is to identify the factors that influence the intention to invest in Bitcoin. An online survey was distributed via the email to the target respondents, those who have basic knowledge of Bitcoin investment. After three weeks of the data collection period for the pilot study, 45 samples were gathered to be tested further. Using the SPSS programme, the data were analysed through the reliability test and factor analysis. The results of the study indicate that the items are valid and reliable. The exploratory factor analysis also discloses that the sampling is satisfactory. Being limited preliminary analysis, this study lacks the empirical evidence to confirm the relationships between the studied variables. Therefore, in future an adequate and bigger sample is needed to establish the empirical support on the associations of the studied variables

Abstract   Islam, religion of tolerance and love of peace is one of Habiburrahman El Shirazy’s, it is a study indicating the values ​​of love and tolerance of Islam in the modern public space area. This study used the underlying theory of the values ​​of love and tolerance as well as the role of Islam in modern times that has been developing in the public discourse that in the history of human civilization there are several things that must be understood that humans have the sense to differentiate between humans and other creatures. From this reason humans can do something to explore and explain things that are not known by others. The method that is used in data collection technique is documentation technique, because this study is descriptive qualitative. This study examines several things including the values of love and tolerance because accepting differences is a distinct pleasure for each particular societies in other words, not seeing other people as deviants or enemies but as partner to complement each other by having an equal position and equally valid and valuable as a way of managing life and living life both individually and collectively. Acceptance of differences demands changes in the legal rule in people's lives so that the role of religion in the modern public space area becomes a middle way to build diversity and a nature that must both appreciate and respect one another, this diversity is seen in the portrait of everyday life which then creates peace, and harmony in interacting with all elements of society.

Abstract Increasing turbine inlet temperature (TIT) of recuperated gas turbines would lead to simultaneously high efficiency and power density, making them prime candidates for low-emission aeronautics applications, such as hybrid-electric aircraft. The Inside-out Ceramic Turbine (ICT) architecture achieves high TIT by using compression-loaded monolithic ceramics. To resist inertial forces due to blade tip speed exceeding 450 m/s, the shroud of the ICT is made of carbon-polymer composite, wound around a metallic cooling ring. This paper demonstrates that it is beneficial to use a titanium alloy cooling ring with a thermal barrier coating (TBC), rather than nickel superalloys, for the interstitial cooling ring protecting the carbon-polymer from the hot combustion gases. A numerical Design of Experiments (DOE) analysis shows the design trade-offs between the minimum safety factor and the required cooling power for multiple geometries. An optimized high-pressure first turbine stage of a 500 kW microturbine concept using ceramic blades and a titanium cooling ring in an ICT configuration is presented. Its structural performance (minimum safety factor of 1.4) as well as its cooling losses (2% of turbine stage power) are evaluated. Finally, a 20 kW-scale prototype is tested at 300 m/s and a TIT of 1375 K during 4hrs to demonstrate the viability of the concept. Experiments show that the polymer composite was kept below its maximum safe operating temperature and components show no early signs of degradation.

Purpose – People have become more health conscious about the food they eat on any occasion. As healthy dietary information has been released to the public in order to correspond with active public adaptation, more consumers have become aware of and are showing interest in new information related to health. The purpose of this paper is to utilize food-related lifestyle (FRL) instruments to explain nutrition information-conscious behaviors. Design/methodology/approach – This study used a cross-sectional survey design. A questionnaire was developed based on previous studies. A factor analysis and a cluster analysis were conducted to segment nutrition information-conscious behaviors of consumers. Participants were 200 and the survey was administered to citizens in South Korea. Exploratory factor analysis, cluster analysis, analysis of variance, Duncan’s multiple comparison tests, and χ2 test were used. Findings – Nine factors were identified and four clusters were established. These clusters were named: “personal value concern group,” “enthusiastic group,” “moderation group,” and “unconcerned group.” Each segment was significantly different in body satisfaction and nutrition information-conscious behaviors. Nutrients such as dietary fibers, sodium, and trans fat were considered differently by the four segments. Originality/value – Using an FRL instrument in relation to nutrition information-conscious behavior, interesting conclusions were drawn. Results of this study suggested that each segment has its characteristics in relation to nutrition information-conscious behaviors. Also it can be concluded that it is time for individuals to take responsibility for their own health problems.

In this article a series of variables referred to the general public's valuations of science and technology are analysed. These valuations refer to different dimensions of science and technology—as a utility of scientific knowledge, their legitimacy, their bond with the cultural matrix of everyday life. The analysis is based on information from a survey carried out in a great urban conglomerate of a little scientific developing country, Argentina. We see that valuation variables discriminate the public according to their positive or negative responses about science, but that there is no evident association between them. We consider one variable in particular dividing the public into those who are ‘trustful’ and those who are ‘cautious’ regarding the advances of science, and we see how it is related to other significations of valuation. The pre-eminence of positions of ambivalence or contradiction in the population's perception regarding this topic is discussed. A factor analysis is presented that comprises these variables and that presents a set of ‘valuation orientations’ towards science as a result. Finally, it is interesting to see how education and the level of understanding of scientific knowledge affect the public's valuation, which questions the basic supposition of the tradition of public understanding studies.

This paper summarizes the results of a survey into the prestige of various occupations in contemporary Czechoslovak society, which was carried out in November 1990 on a representative sample of 1400 respondents in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The results show a high level of prestige of scientific (research) professions. All the five representatives of the research community finished among the top 20 professions (a total of 49 different professions were evaluated). Out of these, associate professor was third in the scale of prestige, with scientist fourth and head of a research centre tenth. The prestige of scientists did not depend statistically on the age, sex or education of respondents. From factor analysis it follows that the group of professions connected with science or research forms a relatively independent subgroup of professions assessed by respondents in a similar manner. Finally, the prestige of scientific and research professions in Czechoslovak society is much higher than scientists think it is.

In recent years fare-free public transport (FFPT) found itself at the centre of attention of various groups, such as economists, transport engineers and local authorities, as well as those responsible for the organisation of urban transport. The FFPT is hoped to be the answer to contemporary transport-related problems within cities, problems which largely result from insensible proportions between trips carried out via personal mode of transportation and those completed by the means of public transport. This article reviews the motives and effects connected with the introduction to date of fare-free transport zones across the globe. It also presents, using data obtained in market research, the actual impact of a selective extension of the entitlement to free fares on the demand for urban transport services. The effects observed in other urban transport systems were then compared against those observed in relation to one, examined system. Analyses of observed FFPT implementation effects were then used to establish good and bad practices in the introduction of FFPT. The article also contains forecasts on the effect of the extension of entitlement to free fares and an increase in the public transport offer may have on the volume of demand for such services. The analyses have shown that an increase in the public transport offer (understood as an increase in the volume of vehicle-kilometres) would increase the demand for urban transport services more than the selective implementation of FFPT (assuming that the costs incurred by the local authorities remain unchanged).

Purpose The role of public–private partnerships (PPP) as a strategic initiative to improve and accelerate service delivery in the form of newly built and revitalised water infrastructure assets in developing countries cannot be over-emphasised. Hence, the purpose of this study is to assess and highlight the importance of critical success factors for water infrastructure projects delivered under public–private partnerships. Design/methodology/approach A survey design was used and a questionnaire was administered to stakeholders who have participated in delivering water infrastructure assets in South Africa. Out of 150 administered questionnaires, only 91 were returned and usable for analyses, representing a 61 per cent response rate. The data gathered were then analysed using descriptive and factor analysis. Findings The study revealed that thorough planning for project viability, high levels of transparency and accountability and a legal framework stipulating policy continuity are the CSFs for delivering water infrastructure projects under the PPP initiative. The findings emerging from factor analysis owing to a close variance revealed the importance of the following grouped factors, namely, public cooperation, project viability and policy and legislation enhancement. Practical implications From the results, it is clear that the public sector, as the facilitator of infrastructure development, should create an environment that is conducive for private capital through political will and commitment and the enhancement of policy and legislation where there is no or minimal private participation. Originality/value Adequate infrastructure investment from private capital promises to flourish economically and improve the living conditions of the public in the cities and the country at large. To further guarantee the reality of PPPs at a local level, the host government must adequately engage and enlighten the public.
