THE EFFECT OF QUANTUM TEACHING MODEL BASED LITERACY TOWARD STUDENT CRITICAL THINKING SKILL

<p>This study is aimed to see the effect of quantum teaching model based on literacy toward student’s ability in critical thinking focused on flat side building in SMP Plus Darul Ilmi Murni. The method of this study is quantitative research by using quasi experimental research. The total number of sample is 19 students for each classes, they are experimental and control class. Based on the data and analysis, it shows that there is significant differences between T-Count and T-table. The analysis of the data resulted that T-test is 4,226 and T-Table is 5 % (1,689). From the percentage, it can be seen that , it is , thus H<sub>0</sub> is rejected and  H<sub>a</sub> is accepted. Therefore, the hypothesis can conclude that there is a significant effect of quantum teaching based literacy toward student’s ability in critical thinking focused on flat side building in SMP Plus Darul Ilmi Murni</p>

Abstract:. The basic criteria of integrated teaching are: teaching includes educational goals in which learners actively participate in the learning process, teaching begins with a theme relevant to the learner's life, learners engage in learning and active thinking processes to practice critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skill is an activity of thinking about an idea or idea related to a given concept or a presented problem. Critical thinking is also understood as the activity of analyzing ideas or ideas in a more specific way, distinguishing them sharply, choosing, identifying, studying, and developing them in a more perfect direction. The purpose of this study was to investigate: the influence of reciprocal teaching strategies on the critical thinking skills of learners. This research is a quasi experimental type research. The population is all students in SD Nanggalo Tarusan Pesisir Selatan and the samples are students of VA and VB class as many as 50 people. This sampling technique is porpusive sampling. Data from the research results obtained from critical thinking skills tests. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of learners who were given a reciprocal teaching strategy were higher than conventional learning. Keterampilan berpikir kritis adalah suatu kegiatan cara berpikir tentang ide atau gagasan yang berhubungan dengan konsep yang diberikan atau masalah yang dipaparkan. Berpikir kritis juga dipahami sebagai kegiatan menganalisis idea atau gagasan ke arah yang lebih spesifik, membedakannya secara tajam, memilih, mengidentifikasi, mengkaji, dan mengembangkannya ke arah yang lebih sempurna. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki: pengaruh strategi reciprocal teaching terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalah seluruh peserta didik di SD Nanggalo Tarusan Pesisir Selatan dan sampelnya adalah peserta didik kelas VA dan VB sebanyak 50 orang. Teknik pengeambilan sampel ini porpusive sampling. Data dari hasil penelitian diperoleh dari tes keterampilan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunujukan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang diberi strategi reciprocal teaching lebih tinggi dibandingkan pembelajaran konvesional.Kata Kunci: Reciprocal teaching, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Tematik

Climate change is urgent world issue that should be face critically by student. This article tries to illustrate one effort to improve student critical thinking skill toward climate change topics through developing Android-based learning module. By employing design and development research (DDR) approach this research using Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on producing the module. In the end of the process the module is ready for use because the comparison between experimental class and control class indicates that there is an increasing of student critical thinking skills when they use the module. Therefore, Android and others technological product should be recognize as having huge potential to encourage student awareness and critical thinking toward climate change issues. Abstrak Perubahan iklim adalah masalah dunia yang mendesak yang harus dihadapi secara kritis oleh siswa. Artikel ini menggambarkan satu upaya meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap topik-topik perubahan iklim dalam mata pelajaran di sekolah melalui pengembangan modul pembelajaran berbasis Android. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan Design & Development Research (DDR) penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, dan Share (SSCS) dalam pengembangan modulnya. Pada akhir proses, modul siap digunakan karena perbandingan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa ketika mereka menggunakan modul tersebut. Dengan demikian, Android dan produk teknologi lainnya harus diakui memiliki potensi besar untuk mendorong kesadaran dan daya kritis siswa terhadap masalah perubahan iklim.

Critical thinking skill of students is affected by many factors, including the learning model. There are many kinds of learning model; one of it is cooperative learning model with student facilitator and explaining type. This article discussed the results of research on the application of the student facilitator and explaining model in improving critical thinking skill of students in introduction of office administration subject. This study used a quasi-experimental method with Nonequivalent Control Group design. The results of conducted research showed a positive and significant difference in the application of the cooperative learning model with student facilitator and explaining type to improve critical thinking skill of learners.ABSTRAKKemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, diantaranya adalah model pembelajaran,dimana model pembelajaran ini banyak sekali macamnya salah satunya adalah model cooverarative learning tipe student facilitator and eksplaining. Artikel ini membahas hasil penelitian tentang penerapan model student facilitator and eksplaining dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran pengantar administrasi perkantoran. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang positif dan signifikan dalam penerapan model pembelejaran kooperatif tipe student facilitator and eksplaining untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

This research aim to examine the effect of probing prompting assisted video learning model for learning outcomes and critical thinking skill of student. This type of research is quasi experiment with untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. The research population was all students of X MIA MAN 2 Mataram. Sampling technique of this research use cluster random sampling so that there are two classes that is X MIA 1 as the experimental class and X MIA 3 as the control class. Type test used 20 choice question for learning outcomes and 5 essay for critical thinking skill. The posttest mean value for learning outcomes in experimental class and control class is 42,36 and 34,86. The posttest mean value for critical thinking skill in experimental class and control class is 54,86 and 46,08. Hypothesis testing of this research is MANOVA. The result of MANOVA test show a significant 0,004 so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this research is there is the effect of  probing prompting learning model assisted video for learning outcomes and critical thinking skill of student.

This research aimed at 1). Developing learning design of guided inquiry based physics learning using  student worksheet. 2). Knowing the difference  of improvement  of the  critical thinking between students those who learned  using guided inquiry based physics learning and those who learned physics conventionally. 3). Knowing the difference of improvement  of the  critical thinking between students with a highly scientific attitude and those with a low one. 4) Knowing the interaction between learning physics   and scientific attitude toward the improvement of students’ critical thinking skill. The research was conducted through two steps, namely:  1) Development research using Dick’s and Carey’s development model, 2) Experimental research using 2x2 factorial design.  The population of this research was the students of MA Qamarul Huda Bagu, central Lombok, year  eleven.  The sample of the research consisted of 2 classes taken by simple random sampling technique.  Data collection using questioner to know the students’ scientific  attitude, and test to know the students’ critical thinking skill score.  Hypothetical test for experimental research used  two path ANAVA  by using SPSS. The  result of development research was yielded a good learning equipment of the guided inquiry based physics learning using student worksheet. The experimental research showed that: 1) There was difference of improvement of critical thinking skill between the students who got a guided inquiry  physics learning using student worksheet  and those who got conventional learning.  This was shown by value of Ftest=42,480, was higher than that of Ftable=4,11, and the value of sig=000 was lower than 0,05; 2) There was difference of improvement of   critical thinking  skill between the students with a high scientific attitude and those with a low one. This was shown by value of Ftest=13,150, was higher than that of Ftable=4,11, and the value of sig=0,001 was lower than 0,05; 3). There was no interaction between the physics learning (guided inquiry based  using  student worksheet and that of conventionally) and scientific attitude towards the improvement of critical thinking skill. This was shown by value of Ftest=1,277  was lower than that of Ftable=4,11 and value of sig=0,265 was higher than 0,05. It was expected that the guided inquiry based physics learning using student worksheet was combined with other learning models to enhance critical thinking skill more optimal mainly for the abstract materials of physics.Key word: guided inquiry, student worksheet, scientific attitude, critical thinking skill,

Abstrak: Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah dan Pertanyaan Socratik untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pertanyaan Socraticuntuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMP. Penelitian kuasi eksperimental ini menggunakan nonequivalent control group design, dengan melibatkan 273 siswa dari empat SMP di Buleleng, Bali. Dua kelas diambil dari masing-masing sekolah, satu kelas sebagai kelompok kontrol yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran langsung, dan satu kelas sebagai kelompok eksperimenyang diajar dengan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pertanyaan Sokratik. Data dianalisi dengan menggunakan Ancova pada taraf signifikansi 5%.Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan pertanyaan Sokratik lebih efektif jika dibanding dengan model pembelajaran langsung untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran berbasis masalah, pertanyaan Socratik, berpikir kritis Abstract: A Problem-Based Teaching Model and The Socratic Question to Improve Students’ Critical Thinking Skill. This study was aimed to test the effectivenessof the problem-based teaching model and the Socratic questions to improve the students’ critical thinking skill in the science subject at the junior high school. This quasi-experimental study employed the nonequivalent control group design, involving 273 students from four junior high schools in Buleleng, Bali. Twoclasses were taken from each school, one as the control group taught using the direct teaching model and one as the experimental group taught using the problembasedteaching model and the Socratic questions. The data were analyzed using the Ancova analysis at the significance level of 0.05. The findings showed that the problem-based teaching model and the Socratic questions were more effective thanthe direct teaching model in improving the students’ critical thinking skill.Keywords: problem-based teaching, Socratic question, critical thinking

The aim of this research was to find out whether there was any significant effect of using bio-poem strategy on students’ ability in writing descriptive paragraph at Mts Darul Falah Salo Kampar Regency. This research was Experimental Research. The design was quasi-experimental research. The writer formulated the problems that would be answered by using the quantitative research. The subject of the research was the second year students of MTs Darul Falah Salo Kampar Regency academic year 2016/2017. The object of this research was bio poem strategy and their writing ability on descriptive paragraph. The writer took two classes: experimental and control. Experiment class was with 17 students, and control class was with also 17 students. To analyze the data, the writer adopted independent sample T-test formula by using SPSS 20 version. After analyzing the data, the writer found that the students’ writing ability was taught by using bio-poem strategy at MTs Darul Falah Salo was categorized into good level. The students’ writing ability was taught without using bio-poem strategy at MTs Darul Falah Salo was categorized into less level. Writer found that Ha: sig. (2 tailed)<0.05. From the research finding it can be concluded that teaching writing by using bio-poem strategy gave large effect on students’ writing ability in descriptive paragraph at MTs Darul Falah Salo Kampar Regency.

This research aimed to identify and analyze the effectiveness of spotlight book media with SAVI model towards the critical thinking skill of students on IPS studies, 4th Grade of SD N Wangandalem 01 Brebes. This research was a quantitative research with research design that was Pre Experimental Design in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The variable that used by researcher is dependent variable (attached) that was the critical thinking skill of students and independent variable (free) that was spotlight book media with SAVI model. The data collection of this research was giving 10 questions of critical thinking skill of students on pre-test and post test, for getting the different result of critical thinking skill of students between before and after doing that. For applying spotlight book media with SAVI model was obtained the enhancement result of average value of students’ critical thinking skill as much as 15.27% from 63.92 to 79.19. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Servant Leadership Learning dengan strategi Concept Mapping (SLL+CM) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan berpikir kritis siswa kelas X SMA Kolese De Britto Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalent subject, control group-pretest posttest design. Pendekatan ini menggunakan tiga kelas eksperimen, yaitu kelas SLL+CM, kelas SLL, kelas CM, dan satu kelas kontrol menggunakan pendekatan konvensional. Populasi infinite siswa kelas X yang terbagi dalam 7 kelas. Sampel menggunakan 4 kelas dengan penarikan sampling teknik samples of convenience. Sungai Gajah Wong digunakan sebagai objek pembelajaran. Untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran digunakan uji Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) dengan asumsi dasar normalitas, homogenitas, dan regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran SLL+CM memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan berpikir kritis siswa. The Effect of the Servant Leadership Learning with Concept Mapping on the Concept Understanding and Critical Thinking Students AbstractThis study aimed to find out the effect of the Servant Leadership Learning model with the Concept Mapping strategy (SLL+CM) on the concept understanding and critical thinking skill of Grade X students of SMA Kolese De Britto Yogyakarta. This was a quasi-experimental study using the nonequivalent subject, control group-pretest posttest design. This approach involved three experimental classes, namely the SLL+CM class, SLL class, and CM class, and one control class using the convenience approach. Gajah Wong river was used as a learning object. Population infinite all Grade X students in seven classes. The research sample, consisting of four classes, was samples convenience. To test the effect of the learning models, the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) with normality, homogenity, and regression asumptions. The results of the study was SLL+CM had significant effect on the concept understanding and critical thinking skill students.

This research aims to know the effect of using interactive multimedia towards concepts mastery and critical thinking skill of students on the material of temperature ang heat. This research is an experimental research that uses pretest-posttest control design. The sample of this research is grade XA and XB students of SMAN 1 Alas in the academic year 2013/2014 that determined by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments that used to collect the data are test sheets of mastering concepts is developed based on indicator of temperature and heat learning material on the sub topic of expansion, heat transfer and black principle. Meanwhile, the test of critical thinking skill is developed based on the indicator of argument analysis shows that mean score of concepts mastery of experimental group is 61% and control group is 54%. The result of t-test of concepts mastery and critical thinking skill shows that experimental group is significantly higher that control group. It means that the use of interactive multimedia has an effect towards concepts mastery and critical thinking skill of students on the material of temperature and heat.
