The article substantiates the need to enhance the information support for tourism and hotel business which is currently associated with a range of information and methodological issues, such as the assessment of tourist flows; tourism and hotel market satisfaction, congruence between customer needs and supply in the tourist services market; assessing load infrastructure as well as anthropogenic effects on the environment; study on the state of industry development and measuring of its contribution into the total gross domestic product. The paper presents a research methodology to explore tourism and hotel business settings, in particular the regional tourist services market, based on the market environment evaluation, identification of factors affecting tourism actors’ performance efficiency and estimation of their impact on final economic outcomes. The above methodology involves a comprehensive approach to the application of theoretical and applied principles of sectoral and territorial analysis and aims at building the regional tourism policy key drivers. It is argued that in the context of new risks and challenges, modern Ukraine should pursue a robust constructive recreational and tourism policy. Depending on the level at which the policy is defined and implemented, this study makes out government policy, regional policy, and the policy of individual tourism and hotel businesses. As an effective solution, the findings suggest modeling a government recreational policy based on strategic planning which translates into a comprehensive document that includes analytical information and business forecasting, as well as an action plan including a set of activities and projects to be implemented by market participants in the tourism and hotel sector.

This paper presents a quantitative study in measuring the perception of Malaysian SME towards ecommerce as an innovation and factors affecting the adoption of it. It is concerned with initiatives that are intended to help SME in Malaysia to adopt E-commerce as an innovation. The research has two main emphases: First, it presents some preliminary findings on the perception of Malaysian SME towards E-commerce as an innovation; and the level of confidence towards E-commerce as an innovation. Second, it streamlines various initiatives by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC), BankNegara Malaysia and local governments in accelerating the acceptance of E-commerce by Malaysian SME. The study engaged 38 SME participants through a survey using a self-administered questionnaire. 32% of the surveyed SME are from the Type 1 Industry; comprising manufacturing, manufacturing related services, and agro-based services and about 68% are from Type 2 Industry comprising services, primary agriculture, and ICT. The self administered questionnaire consists of two sections. Section I contains demographic information and SME specification while Section II contains 37 items: 31 items utilised Likert Scales items ranging from 1 (strongly disagree) to 5(strongly agree), and six items utilised defined interval scales. Rogers' attributes of innovations (2003): relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trial ability and observability were used in the construct of the research instrument. This research emphasizes on Rogers'framework, as it was found useful where the study sought to understand the diffusion and use of Ecommerce by Malaysian SME in the investigation. Descriptive statistics were used to analyse and present empirical data of the 38 SME. The results from the quantitative data provided information on addressing barriers to SME, and confirmed the characteristics of Rogers' adoption categories. The study shows that the instrument which was designed with seven constructs lacked internal consistency in two determinants: relative advantage and observability. Findings interpreted through Rogers' theory suggest that an action plan should include initiatives to help SME towards E-commerce as an innovation.

This article provides an overview of the main solutions available today for the formation of both short-term and long-term projections of the incidence of eye diseases and its adnexa in the student environment. On the other hand, there are a number of problems associated with a variety of factors affecting the incidence, statistical unreasonability and inconsistency of the available data analysis results. The results of mathematical modeling of the dependence of the incidence rate on the most influential factors of the educational and social environment are presented. The most important areas of developing mathematical models for the spread of morbidity are listed. With the help of the developed software package, a series of computational experiments was carried out to assess and predict the incidence of students in universities of various profiles. The effectiveness of the application of multivariate modeling and forecasting methods is shown, their limitations and practical application possibilities are indicated. By the location of the generalized region of favorable prognosis in the factor space, it is possible to determine the exposure time of factors unfavorable for vision, which should be no more than 10 ... 11 hours a day, the number of preventive measures should be at least 3 ... 4. At the same time, the risk of development myopia will be no more than 0.4, the probability of eye fatigue at the computer will be no more than 0.4, the likelihood of eye discomfort in the classroom will be no more than 0.15. Based on the nature of the forecast, the duration of the follow-up observation is determined, as well as the need for preventive measures to eliminate or weaken the action of adverse social, hygienic and biomedical factors of a particular patient. The use of the prognostic matrix in practical health care can significantly improve the work on the prevention of ophthalmic morbidity and is one of the effective medical examinations for students, since it makes it possible to distinguish among the students a group with a high risk of an unfavorable outcome of the disease

Information support robots (ISRs) have the potential to assist older people living alone to have an independent life. However, the effects of ISRs on the daily activity, especially the sleep patterns, of older people have not been clarified; moreover, it is unclear whether the effects of ISRs depend on the levels of cognitive function. To investigate these effects, we introduced an ISR into the actual living environment and then quantified induced changes according to the levels of cognitive function. Older people who maintained their cognitive function demonstrated the following behavioral changes after using the ISR: faster wake-up times, reduced sleep duration, and increased amount of activity in the daytime (p < 0.05, r = 0.77; p < 0.05, r = 0.89, and p < 0.1, r = 0.70, respectively). The results suggest that the ISR is beneficial in supporting the independence of older people living alone since living alone is associated with disturbed sleep patterns and low physical activity. The impact of the ISR on daily activity was more remarkable in the subjects with high cognitive function than in those with low cognitive function. These findings suggest that cognitive function is useful information in the ISR adaptation process. The present study has more solid external validity than that of a controlled environment study since it was done in a personal residential space.

Increasing levels of global and regional integration have led to tourist flows between countries becoming closely linked. These links should be considered when modeling and forecasting international tourism demand within a region. This study introduces a comprehensive and accurate systematic approach to tourism demand analysis, based on a Bayesian global vector autoregressive (BGVAR) model. An empirical study of international tourist flows in nine countries in Southeast Asia demonstrates the ability of the BGVAR model to capture the spillover effects of international tourism demand in this region. The study provides clear evidence that the BGVAR model consistently outperforms three other alternative VAR model versions throughout one- to four-quarters-ahead forecasting horizons. The potential of the BGVAR model in future applications is demonstrated by its superiority in both modeling and forecasting tourism demand.

China is one of the world’s major environmental polluters, therefore, Chinese environmental efficiency is an issue of global importance. In this study, we aim to identify economic factors affecting environmental efficiency scores in different regions of China from a spatial econometric perspective. We measure environmental efficiency scores, relative to the theoretically consistent production possibilities frontier estimated, according to a novel iterative methodology. As expected, we find that environmental efficiency scores are negatively affected by the prevalence of heavy industry sector in the economy, with a higher share of coal as a source of energy exacerbating the problem. We also find evidence that strongly support the pollution halo hypothesis, which credits foreign-funded enterprises with producing in a more environmentally-friendly way. Surprisingly, we find a negative association between the share of tertiary sectors in a regional economy and environmental efficiency—emphasizing the need to address the indirect effects produced on the environment by the seemingly innocuous sectors, such as the hotel sector. We encourage the creation of foreign-funded enterprises, and support formulating environmental protection policies that consider the indirect effects various economic sectors have on the environment.

The experience of leading foreign and domestic companies, enterprises of veterinary medicine confirms the priority role of marketing as a mechanism for generalization and information modeling of the market for products for veterinary medicine and animal husbandry. Marketing organizes and manages the activities of enterprises for the production and sale of products, taking into account the processes and relationships that develop in the market. Market marketing information is a comprehensive knowledge of the market, which includes the study of factors without the knowledge and analysis of which the probability of making an unreasonable or positive payback decision is quite high. Therefore, manufacturers of products for veterinary medicine consider priority price information in the markets of different levels, the level of competitiveness of products and its range, on consumer inquiries. Important is the information for enterprises, market participants, on agricultural policy news, statistical reports on production, processing, sales of competitors' products and prices, commercial offers. In particular, the Agricultural Marketing Project with the support of APK-Inform (Andrushko, 2004; Yarmak, 2004) provides and provides the following information to product manufacturers, respectively market participants, namely: – information on prices that are formed in the product market; – analyze and forecast price trends and the development of the price situation in the market; – information about round tables, exhibitions, seminars, trainings that take place with market participants; – provide statistical data on production, processing, consumption of products, forecast expected changes; – information market participants about price offers from companies that produce or sell products; – information about legislative changes. Information support of marketing tasks is based on the use of both socio-economic and scientific and technical information. The peculiarity of marketing information is the need to study the characteristics of products taking into account the existing and future opportunities of the market, a comprehensive analysis of all its components. However, the use of business information in the management system of processes occurring in market relations, require improvement and modernization of methods of its collection and analysis. The lack of information needed to ensure the completeness of market research is not only because some important data are not collected, respectively, and not analyzed, but also not communicated to consumers. In modern conditions, the orientation of producers of products for veterinary medicine and animal husbandry to the real requirements of the market encourages a new assessment of information marketing links, which will contribute to the effective operation of enterprises based on balanced improvement of product quality, competitiveness, demand and cost haring at all stages.
