In this research, a study is made of the effect of the application of Pólya's problem-solving heuristic on the development of geometric skills and its impact on academic performance. In the intervention, the topic of angles was developed, to a section of 25 fourth grade high school students in an educational center in the Municipality of Yamasá of the Monte Plata Province in the Dominican Republic. A quasi-experimental type design with a quantitative approach and correlational scope was used, with a non-probabilistic sample, with an intact group and a pre-test and post-test design. The results show that, through Pólya's problem-solving heuristic, students expanded their skills in geometry that greatly increased learning about angles. Corroborated by a growth in the average of the grades from 62.4% that was obtained in the pre-test, to 83.7% that was reached in the post-test, showing statistically that there are significant differences. It stands out that the Pólya heuristic was highly valued by the students under study, therefore, it is believed that it had a positive influence on the benefit of their learning about angles. In addition, the results of the post-test reveal that there is no relationship between the sex of the group under study and the scores obtained when the Pólya heuristic is applied.

This study used quasi experimental method through non-equivalent control grup design. In the design of this study, there was a pre-test about botanical literacy before the treatment in experiment class and control, then it was done a treatment in experiment class with PjBL model and traditional learning in control class. After that, the students were given post-test about botanical literacy after learning activities. Sample in this study as much as 2 classes that belongs to class ten in one of High School in Cimahi City. The determination of study sample was conducted with purposive sampling technique because in choosing sample considering the condition of the students who have not learned yet about plants classification in school. Botanical literacy that was measured in this research is the ability to think critically to classify plants and solve the problem about plants. The result of the research is average of N-gain in the experimental class increased with moderate category, in the average of N-gain in the control class increased in low category. Overall, the activities in the stage of PjBL model has finished well by the teacher and students. Almost all the students agree that PjBL model give chances to the students to apply the knowledge on classifying plants, train on solving problem, and improve the learning motivation.

Reading comprehension has been considered as a major issue in the Indonesian EFL context including in the junior high schools. Whereas in fact, Indonesian junior high school students have been asked by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture to understand various English texts effectively. Therefore, in an attempt to comply with the required criteria above, this paper proposes a possible solution to cope with Indonesian students’ reading comprehension issue. In this sense, CIRC proposed as a possible technique to enhance Indonesian junior high school students’ reading comprehension. Specifically, this research attempts to measure the effectiveness of CIRC technique on students’ reading comprehension at grade seven of a junior school located in West Sumatera, Indonesia namely the MTsN Koto Baru Junior High School. Accordingly, the study employed a quasi-experimental design, comparing students’ pre-test and post-test scores to measure the effectiveness of CIRC towards students’ reading comprehension. The different result between the pre-test and post-test tested using the paired sample t-test. It was found that students’ scores on pre-test (before treatment) was lower than post-test (after treatment). Thus, it can be inferred that CIRC was effective to increase students’ reading comprehension.

Recently, there has been a proliferation of technopedagogical practices, based on the application of active teaching and learning processes through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The main objective of this work is to analyse the impact of training action through the use of augmented reality in physical education for the development and acquisition of spatial orientation, as opposed to more traditional training based on the exhibition method. The methodology developed is quantitative, through a quasi-experimental design post-test in 140 high school students in the field of physical education. The results indicate that all of the dimensions show a very high, significant relationship. The greatest difference in average is observed in motivation. In contrast, the smallest difference, although significant, is observed in the grades given by the teachers themselves. It can be concluded that the method of teaching through augmented reality is effective in teaching high school students in the subject of physical education, especially for the acquisition of spatially oriented content.

Peer assessment training has appeared as potential new tools for enhancing Arab English as foreign language (EFL) high school students on writing performance. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of using peer assessment training on writing performance among Arab EFL high school students. One hundred and twenty students aged fifteen and sixteen years old participated in this study with an equal number of male and female students. The students were from two Arab high schools in Malaysia. This study employed a quasi-experimental research design. Data was collected using Analytical Marking Scale (Alderson, et al., 1995) to assess student’s writing performance in the pretest and posttest. The result of this study shows that there is a significant difference in the writing performances between the experimental and control groups at P < 0.001. The findings suggests that students who have been exposed to peer assessment training write a better draft compared with those students who were only given conventional training in writing an essay, and without the benefit of peer feedback.
