Human trafficking is a global phenomenon. The UK is predominantly, although not exclusively, a destination country for trafficked persons. There is a lack of empirical research and data available which addresses the reality of access by trafficked persons to certain means of communication (internet, mobile phone technology or a PC); therefore any attempts to use these mediums to assist or identify trafficked individuals are based on speculation rather than empiricism. This research through semi-structured interviews with professionals who work with trafficked people or in related fields (for example, immigration agencies, police, victim support, therapists) ( n = 14), identified via snowball and purposive sampling, aims to establish the level of access trafficked persons/putatively trafficked persons have to communication technology. This research identifies a general understanding of trafficked people's access to communication technology; how access to this technology either helps or hinders them escape their current situation; and, consequentially, how technology could assist in responding to trafficking.

The tendency of fraud is one of the major threats to Indonesian country. The current research aims to study the effect of rules enforcement and unethical behaviors on the tendency of fraud based on gender. The sample consists of 126 employees from 28 Local Government Agencies (LGAs) in Kulon Progo regency. Purposive sampling was the sampling technique employed in this study. The results demonstrated a significant effect of unethical behavior on the tendency of fraud. However, rules enforcement level has no significant effect on the tendency of fraud. In addition, gender differences were observed in unethical behavior and the tendency of fraud. On the other hand, gender differences were not present in the level of rules enforcement.

Feeling of well-being and happiness can be experienced through creativity. one can enjoy being creative for the sake of exploration and invention which has over generations enhanced human society’s ability to survive in this unpredictable world ,or one can practice creativity in the pursuit of day to day activities or at work and be happy. Hence creativity is an important construct for promoting happiness. The query lies in discovering whether all persons are creative or a few persons are endowed with this positive virtue. Is creativity related to intelligence? The relationship between creativity and intelligence has been subject to empirical research for decades yet there is no consensus on how these constructs are related. Therefore the main purpose of this research was to study the relationship between intelligence and creativity in adolescents. Major objective chosen are (i) to measure the relationship between creativity and intelligence (ii) to measure the difference between boys and girls in intelligence and creativity. The study was conducted on 30 girls and 30 boys, aged 12-18 by purposive sampling technique. The data was obtained by the administration of the two non- verbal scales (i) standard progressive matrices by Raven (ii) test of creative thinking by Baqer Mehdi. Results revealed that (i) intelligence and creativity were positively correlated (ii) significant differences existed between boys and girls on creativity and no difference were found on intelligence. The study further highlighted the ways and means of enhancing creativity.

Children who use cochlear implants experience significant difficulty hearing speech in the presence of background noise, such as in the classroom. To address these difficulties, audiologists often recommend frequency-modulated (FM) systems for children with cochlear implants. The purpose of this article is to examine current empirical research in the area of FM systems and cochlear implants. Discussion topics will include selecting the optimal type of FM receiver, benefits of binaural FM-system input, importance of DAI receiver-gain settings, and effects of speech-processor programming on speech recognition. FM systems significantly improve the signal-to-noise ratio at the child's ear through the use of three types of FM receivers: mounted speakers, desktop speakers, or direct-audio input (DAI). This discussion will aid audiologists in making evidence-based recommendations for children using cochlear implants and FM systems.

For the effective use of modern tools, the inherent visuo-motor transformation needs to be mastered. The successful adjustment to and learning of these transformations crucially depends on practice conditions, particularly on the type of visual feedback during practice. Here, a review about empirical research exploring the influence of continuous and terminal visual feedback during practice on the mastery of visuo-motor transformations is provided. Two studies investigating the impact of the type of visual feedback on either direction-dependent visuo-motor gains or the complex visuo-motor transformation of a virtual two-sided lever are presented in more detail. The findings of these studies indicate that the continuous availability of visual feedback supports performance when closed-loop control is possible, but impairs performance when visual input is no longer available. Different approaches to explain these performance differences due to the type of visual feedback during practice are considered. For example, these differences could reflect a process of re-optimization of motor planning in a novel environment or represent effects of the specificity of practice. Furthermore, differences in the allocation of attention during movements with terminal and continuous visual feedback could account for the observed differences.

Abstract. Which data to analyze, and how, are fundamental questions of all empirical research. As there are always numerous flexibilities in data-analytic decisions (a “garden of forking paths”), this poses perennial problems to all empirical research. Specification-curve analysis and multiverse analysis have recently been proposed as solutions to these issues. Building on the structural analogies between primary data analysis and meta-analysis, we transform and adapt these approaches to the meta-analytic level, in tandem with combinatorial meta-analysis. We explain the rationale of this idea, suggest descriptive and inferential statistical procedures, as well as graphical displays, provide code for meta-analytic practitioners to generate and use these, and present a fully worked real example from digit ratio (2D:4D) research, totaling 1,592 meta-analytic specifications. Specification-curve and multiverse meta-analysis holds promise to resolve conflicting meta-analyses, contested evidence, controversial empirical literatures, and polarized research, and to mitigate the associated detrimental effects of these phenomena on research progress.
