Abstract. Introduction. University professors’ occupational activity is affected by a large number of stress factors prolonged exposure to which can contribute to the development of burnout syndrome, which is absolutely necessary to prevent. Purpose: assessment of occupational burnout syndrome as an indicator of professional maladjustment of a university professor The objects and research methods. Female professors (68 people) of 3 age categories (up to 30 years old, from 30 to 49 years old, 50 years old and older). Questionnaire, psychophysiological, statistical methods. Results. The analysis of the OBS phases formed in the university professors has shown that the Tension phase has the minimal severity (11.4 ± 0.04%). The Resistance phase is more pronounced (22.9 ± 0.05%). The Depletion phase is second in severity (11.4 ± 0.04%). A post-symptom analysis of the OBS phases formed has shown a predominance in the Resistance phase characterized, firstly, by the "curtailment" of professional activity, due to the reduction of duties requiring emotional costs (P4. Reduction of professional duties); secondly, the uncontrollable influence of mood on professional relations (P1. Inadequate emotional response); thirdly, when a professor feels that both working conditions and professional interpersonal relationships are traumatic (H1. Traumatic experiences). Regarding the age aspect, the burnout effect is not unambiguous. Thus, the formed Resistance phase predominates in the third group (50 years and older); the Resistance phase at the stage of formation (forming) is prevalent in the first age group (up to 30 years old). Conclusion. University professors’ occupational activity causes the development of OBS and can be considered a work-related disease which entails disability i.e., inability of an employee to perform their professional duties in a qualified manner.

Occupational burnout syndrome most often occurs among professionals of the at-risk occupations, i.e. those who work in close contact with people and have to communicate a lot and intensively with others. This group includes educational specialists (teachers, educators, psychologists), medical professionals, and sale representatives. Fatigue, weakness, lack of interest in their activities against the background of chronic stress, is well known to many people, especially workaholics, who strive to do as much as possible, resulting in emotional burnout. With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, burnout has taken on a different form due to isolation, fears for the lives and health of family members, and distance from workplaces and well-accustomed co-workers. Distance learning has created new challenges for teachers and students of HEIs. Study before quarantine was already complicated, given the heavy workload, the large volume of the curriculum, and the constant lack of free time. Working in such rhythm makes it difficult to maintain mental health and prevent emotional burnout. The professional activity of university educators is characterized by increased responsibility, a wide range of commitments and the need for continuous professional development. In addition to the educational process, the teacher is responsible for the implementation of methodological, organizational, educational and research work. The influence of stressors on a teacher’s health contributes to the emergence of the syndrome of occupational burnout. “Quarantine” factors influencing the development of occupational burnout can be assigned into two groups: organizational and psychological factors related to the novel special organization of work in quarantine; psychological factors associated with the new psychological features of the professional activity and their own subjective characteristics. To prevent the development of occupational burnout, psychologists recommend to take care of yourself; do not forget about rest; realistically estimate own capabilities and, accordingly, plan work and time; do not make unnecessary commitments; do not demand too much from yourself; work should bring joy.

In the framework of the study, 119 university professors of Russia, Belarus and Poland surveyed. The results allowed to determine the degree of readiness of University professors to work with students with disabilities and, as a result, demonstrated the need for developmental correction of each of the three components of this readiness.

Introduction. Post-graduate education of residents is the basis of the professional activity of doctors. Therapeutic activities involve emotional load and a lot of stress factors. Emotional burnout syndrome (EBS) is the response of the organism to prolonged negative exposure to professional stresses. Psychological overwork is considered to be the main cause of EBS. This article is devoted to the study of resource possibilities of the individual and to the search for ways to prevent the development of EBS in residents at the postgraduate stage of education. Materials and methods. The EBS analysis (V.V. Boyko’s method), conflict competence (method "Diagnostics of leading type of response" by M.M. Kashapov and T.G. Kiseleva), communicative competence (method "Professional communicative competence of the doctor" by N.V. Yakovleva and L.P. Urvantsev), creativity (test "Creativity" by N.F. Vishniakova) and creative characteristics of personality (Questionnaire of abilities of creative personality by O.A. Shliapnikova and M.M. Kashapov) were used to examine 130 persons (100 residents of surgical and therapeutic specialties and 30 doctors of general practice) in comparison groups with correlation analysis. Results. The obtained data support the hypothesis that 1) differences in the choice of conflict resolution strategy contribute to the development of EBS symptoms; 2) residents experience a shortage of professional communicative competence, which leads to the development of EBS; 3) there are relationships between the parameters of creativity and the expression of EBS; 4) the chosen medical specialty is related to the degree of expression of creative abilities of the individual. Discussion and conclusion. The reasons for the identified psychological disadvantage are analyzed. A comparative analysis of conflict and communication competencies, as well as creative characteristics of the person, which play a role in the development of the EBS has been carried out. It has been established that creativity and creative abilities manifest themselves as resource opportunities whose targeted development can serve as a means of preventing EBS in residents.

The article objective was to identify the level of professional burnout and its assessment with reference to a set of social and professional characteristics of social workers in Russia. The research novelty was in considering burnout as part of the social worker’s established image. The authors proceeded from the assumption that social worker occupation, which involves direct contact with people in difficult life situations, is obviously one of the most conducive to the development of an occupational burnout syndrome, and it is perceived in society this way. Low wages, combined with a significant emotional stress, act as factors contributing to the employee’s professional disorganization. Nevertheless, as it was found in the study, in the specific conditions of Russia, the general characteristics of social workers presuppose not only a desire to continue professional activity in the chosen specialty, but also a relatively low percentage of people with a high degree of occupational burnout.

Data on the subjective sensations of athletes who have suffered from injury of the musculoskeletal system are obtained, patterns in the perception of the consequences of an injury event are revealed. Also we present data on the attitude of athletes to injury in the aspect of professional activity. The analyzed information is an important component in the development of personalized programs for the prevention of reinjury in elite sports. Objective: to assess the psychoemotional experiences of sports trauma by elite athletes in the process of rehabilitation treatment after the musculoskeletal system injury.Materials and methods: a specially developed medical and psychological interview was conducted with athletes-members of the sports national Russian Federation teams, who are inpatient treatment in the sports traumatology department, in order to obtain primary subjective information from the athlete about his presentation of his own experiences of a traumatic episode. Further, the information obtained from the interviews was analyzed and grouped for further evaluation. Results: we state the significant influence exerted by the previous traumatic experience on the future life and professional activity of an athlete. Moreover, the influence can be both negative (fear, anxiety, kinesiophobia, uncertainty in sports-specific movements) and positive (acquired skills of coping with traumatic experiences, gaining new knowledge about one’s physical and psychological capabilities). Conclusions: thus, despite the diversity of individual reactions of athletes to injury, different life situations, sports and traumatic events, it is possible to identify general patterns in the perception of elite athletes of the injury itself, as well as the entire process of recovery and return to sports. This information is very important both for minimizing the negative impact of a sports injury on the psychological recovery of an athlete by switching his attention to identifying the “positive” consequences of the injury, and for the prevention of repeated injuries in elite sports.
