The article reveals military students’ psychological characteristics manifested at overcoming stresses, conflicts, frustrations and crises during vocational training. Young years is the most interesting and difficult period in a person’s life. An individual’s identification in society is formed at this age. An appearing mature personality determines life goals, values, gender orientation. Incomplete identification is characteristic for people with internal conflicts, which worsen interpersonal communications, contribute to frustration, aggravates an experienced crisis and make searches for meanings more intensive. Interconnections between a crisis, a conflict, a meaning and a stress have not yet been investigated in psychology to the full degree. The article studies the qualities that should be developed in youth in order to have high tolerance to stress in overcoming obstacles, crises, stresses and noogenic neuroses (lack of meaning). The article purpose: to study second-year military students’ tolerance to stress when they overcome stresses, frustrations, crises or conflicts. The article objective: to study empirically correlations among young men’ gender identity, their tolerance to stress and the peculiarities of their defence mechanisms, used strategies for conflict overcoming, readiness to overcome frustration and life-meaning crises. The applied methods and techniques: theoretical analysis; systems approach; Psychological Stress Measure (PSM-25) (Lemyre-Tiesser-Fillion); Life Style Index (R. Plutchik, H. Kellerman and H. Conte); L.B.Shneider's method of gender identity studying; K. V. Karpinsky’s questionnaire on life-meaning crises; Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument; Stevan Hobfoll’s questionnaire on coping with stressful situations; Boyko-Vasserman questionnaire on social frustration; correlation analysis. Research results. Military students’ tolerance to stress contributes to their “adaptation” (0.35) to educational and professional conditions. The reasons for “meaningful crisis” (-0.55), “frustration” (-0.5), “conflict avoidance” (-0.37) are unsuccessful strategies used by military students for stress overcoming. “Life-meaning crisis” (0.39) and “frustration” (0.39) encourage military students to “avoid conflicts”, thus “assertiveness” (self-confidence) and (-0.43) “support” (-0 , 29) decrease, students “leave” conflicts (0.60), resort to “manipulations” (0.39). “Rivalry” in a conflict encourages military students to “antisocial actions” (0.34). The “caution” strategy is used by military students who are inclined to “cooperation” (0.33). The “contact” strategy is opposed to the “compromise” strategy (-0.28) in a conflict. Conclusions. The signs of formed identity for military students are self-acceptance, existing life goals, values, and the absence of internal conflicts, and also the developed ability to overcome stresses, conflicts, frustrations, crises. All critical situations are interconnected. A crisis and a frustration are the most similar. To overcome them, military students need to be taught such technique as “support” and to develop “assertiveness” (self-confidence).

Subject. In the uncertain market environment, the optimal structure of capital is getting more important because it influences the competitiveness of a firm, its financial sustainability and solvency and, consequently, a success. Herein we dwell upon the hypothesis presuming the existence of capital structure determinants. Objectives. We review empirical studies on the subject, analyze determinants of the Russian companies’ capital structure. Methods. The study is based on the systems approach and methods of statistical analysis. Results. It is necessary to monitor how capital is shaped and formed. We investigated proceedings on factors influencing the capital structure and discovered relevant hypotheses, carrying out the correlation analysis of such factors. Conclusions and Relevance. It is especially important to examine factors influencing the capital structure, and find the appropriate format for the economy struggling through the crisis. The coronavirus pandemic unavoidably reshapes the global economic landscape, which has already been under the pressure of deglobalization processes (trade wars, repudiation of oil contracts). The correlation analysis did not reveal any relationship of the variables in question (the company’s age, ROE, ROA, MOEX, key rate, GDP, PPI) and the capital structure. Further research should be devoted to other factors and consider the unreasonableness and psychological background of managers’ behavior who make decisions concerning the capital structure.

This study has two purposes. One is to identify generation differences in importance perception of productive ageing. Second is to find relationship between productive ageing and successful ageing. First, we developed 20 items to measure productive activities based on Caro, Bass, & Chen (1993)'s definition. Our items were divided into 4 factors; to do activities for life goals, to do activities for self career development, to do activities for family assistance, and to do volunteering activities. In our research, we found generation differences in importance perception of productive activities for successful ageing. In comparison with the elderly, younger people considered it more important to do activities for life goals, career development, and volunteering in their old age. Productive ageing scale of 20 items newly developed for this study was divided into 4 factors in our confirmatory factor analysis, and the reliability of 4 sub-scales was good. The importance perception of productive ageing was significantly related with subjective wellbeing and life meaning. Even after controlling personality such as extroversions, conscientiousness, and openness, it explained significantly subjective wellbeing and life meaning. Lastly, working elderly and non-working elderly were different in meaning perception about productive ageing. Working elderly considered it important to do activities for life goals.

The article deals with the basis of atropocentric cognitive-communicative paradigm of linguistic research, which developed in the XXI century; the most frequently used French phraseological units are analyzed in order to single out the axiologically dominant concept of the French phraseological picture of the world objectified in them and to build its model.Based on the study, it was found that the axiological dominant concept of the French phraseological picture of the world is the frame „Egocentrism”.The selected phraseological units are divided into groups that represent slots in the structure of the frame "Egocentrism". Each slot features individual elements of meaning, illustrated with idioms, that verbalize them. The isolated idioms convey such components of the meaning of the concept „Egocentrism” as the existence of their own rules of life, evaluation of something by its own rules, different ways of evaluating the same, self-interest, pretentiousness, behavior or opinion based on self-interest contempt for enemies, selfishness, independence of judgment, confidence in their own beliefs, their own way, subjectivity of judgments, firmness in their own position, pride, life goals and priorities, inflated self-esteem about themselves and their nation. All of the selected idioms have an assessment or evaluation in their meaning or represent an action based on their own needs, interests, priorities, selfishness, self-confidence, pride or other manifestations of their own ego, which actualizes their value aspect. An analysis of about 1,550 of the most commonly used French idioms allows us to come to conclusions about the hierarchy of axiologically dominant concepts in the French phraseological picture of the world and about the content and structure of the frame “Egocentrism” based on phraseological units that represent it.

Our study used the construct of congruence to conceptualize the degree to which transgender individuals feel genuine, authentic, and comfortable with their gender identity and external appearance. In Study 1, the Transgender Congruence scale (TCS) was developed, and data from 162 transgender individuals were used to estimate the reliability and validity of its scores. Two factors emerged: Appearance Congruence and Gender Identity Acceptance. TCS total and subscale scores were internally consistent. Supporting its construct validity, TCS scores were (a) positively related to life satisfaction and presence of life meaning; (b) negatively related to anxiety, depression, and body dissatisfaction; and (c) unrelated to social desirability and searching for life’s meaning. TCS scores also garnered incremental validity by predicting life satisfaction, presence of meaning in life, anxiety symptoms, and depressive symptoms above and beyond the number of steps taken to transition. Study 2 confirmed the TCS’s factor structure with a sample of 342 transgender individuals. The final 12-item TCS is a psychometrically sound measure that can facilitate both empirical investigations and clinical applications connected to transgender identity. Social aspects, including parents, are likely to influence the development of gender identity. As parents' actions and behaviours convey meaning to their children, they contribute to the formation of the children's gender identity development. The present study aims to investigate the parental influence on the gender identity development of a child character named Claude in Laurie Frankel's This Is How It Always Is. This study is a literary criticism concerning the issue of gender identity development in a literary work viewed from a psychological approach. The data were collected from a novel entitled This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel and analyzed using the social cognitive theory of gender development by Bussey Bandura (1999). The results of the study revealed that his parents influence Claude's gender identity development through the process of modelling as a part of observational learning, which is also supported by parents' evaluative reactions such as rewards or punishments. The process of modelling reveals egalitarian gender roles and sexual orientation modelled and Claude's attention to his mother as an ideal female model, alongside with how parents convey affective reactions such as acceptance and approval on Claude's gender orientation.

The article is devoted to the relationship between the type of crime for which the convicted person is serving a sentence, the level of education, the presence of socially useful connections, the age of the convicted person and the level of his life orientation, which includes such indicators as: the general indicator of the meaningfulness of life, goals in life, the process of life, the effectiveness of life, the locus of control – I, the locus of control – life. The attitude of convicts to such vital components as: health, family, future, self-realization in work was also studied. The study used the "Test of life-meaning orientations" by D. Crambo, A. Maholik in the adaptation of D. A. Leont'ev, and the color test of relations by A. M. Etkind. In order to study life-meaning orientations and preferences in different spheres of life, 93 convicts serving sentences for various crimes were examined. The results of the study of convicts’ personality characteristics can be used by correctional officers to identify problematic aspects in the development of convicts’ personality, develop programs aimed at solving these problems and develop the strengths of convicts’ personality.

Executive coaching is now becoming paramount in any organization that values performance. However, there is scanty research on the relationship between executive coaching and organizational performance. The purpose of this study is to identify the contextual, theoretical, conceptual and methodological gaps that exist between executive coaching and organizational performance. The study has found out that relatively few theories link the two major variables in the study. Experiential leaning theory talks about learning experiences and outcomes of executives but fails to give a clear link of how the various outcomes lead to organizational performance. More so, cognitive behavior theory is more inclined to behavioral changes and self-driven scrutiny on finding fault in oneself with aid of Socratic questioning, but does not clearly explain how the changes lead to organizational performance. The systems approach sheds light on how the various systems in the organization can be amalgamated to give an effective leader but fails to indicate how effective leadership translates to organizational performance. The goal theory on the other hand explains how the various environment and personal aspects lead to goal attainment in the organization. However, learning and behavior change have not been used categorically to explain the goal attainment process. The empirical studies conducted tend to relate executive coaching to other variables such as job satisfaction, individual commitment, self-efficacy and self awareness in the western context but fails to associate the coaching exercise to organizational performance. Finally, few studies have employed inferential statistics to show the association between executive coaching and organizational performance. The fundamental conclusion therefore, is that the gaps mentioned and explained in this study need to be addressed in order to show if indeed there is any association. The study would help organizations in realizing that, the association between executive coaching and organizational performance has an impact in the firm.

We fully endorse Arocha’s (2021) thesis about the fundamental importance of studying variability in real, observable processes and agree with his critique of the standard practice of psychological research. However, we regret that Arocha’s article does not acknowledge a rich body of research that has been around for almost three decades and that does exactly what Arocha recommends. This research is based on the theory of complex dynamic systems. We discuss its main implications for a research focus on concrete psychological processes, as they occur in individual cases (including real interacting groups). Variability over time is used as a main source of information about the nature of the underlying processes. Various examples of empirical studies, model building, and process-oriented methodology are discussed, and Arocha’s examples of perceptual control theory (PCT) and observation-oriented modeling (OOM) are put in the perspective of the complex dynamic systems approach, which is fully compatible with scientific realism as advocated by Arocha.

Self-confidence is a person's belief in everything that is an aspect of his strengths and that belief makes him feel able to achieve various life goals and be able to adapt to his environment. Narrative counseling is able to deal with someone who experiences a distressing combination in conditions of severe pessimism, self-doubt, irritability, neglect, indifference, anxiety, anxiety and some feelings that indicate depression problems experienced by students. This research uses the type of experimental or experimental research (experimental research). The results showed that the self-confidence profile of MA Attaraqqie in Malang City had a moderate level of self-confidence. The results of the study also prove that the intervention carried out is sufficient
