The purpose of this study is to describe students’ error in applying auxiliary verb in writing Islamic Mathematical complex Questions. The participants were nine Mathematics department students of STKIP Al Hikmah who took English for writing course on the third semester. One of the purposes of this course is the students could compose a good Islamic Mathematical complex Questions using a proper grammar. To reach the purpose of this course, the students are equipped with compilation of English mathematical complex questions in Bahasa. For passing the course as the project they must create minimum 50 questions of Islamic Mathematics complex Questions based on the topic in VIII Grade of Junior High School. The study was conducted in descriptive quantitative research design. The data were taken from students’ work composing Islamic Mathematics complex Questions. Auxiliary verb which are investigated on this study are ‘am, is, are, was, were, have, has, and had’. The result of the study proves that most students were not capable in applying auxiliary verbs in their writing, forget which the appropriate auxiliary and still need to improve their ability to divine the appropriate auxiliary verbs. Furthermore, it proves that they are able to create Mathematical complex with Islamic Integration.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan rintisan bank soal Bahasa Inggris SMP kelas VIII pada tingkat provinsi dengan memperhatikan (1) karakteristik soal Ulangan Kenaikan Kelas (UKK); (2) karakteristik butir-butir soal; (3) jumlah butir soal yang memenuhi standar. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengembangan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Sam-pel sebanyak 6554 respon siswa (lembar jawab). Perangkat tes dianalisis kesesuaian indikatornya dengan Standar Kompetensi (SK) dan Kompetensi Dasar (KD) yang telah ditentukan, serta ditelaah secara kualitatif oleh ahli berdasarkan kriteria kons-truksi, bahasa dan materi. Respons siswa dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan Iteman 3.00, dan Bilog MG 3.0 3 PL untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang tingkat kesulitan, daya beda, pseudoguessing, serta informasi butir. Bank soal yang dihasilkan masuk kategori baik dilihat dari (1) Hasil analisis kualitatif dari 150 butir soal, sebanyak 105 butir soal (70%) dinyatakan baik. (2) Hasil analisis kuantitatif dengan program Iteman 3.00 diperoleh 115 butir soal tergolong baik. (3) Analisis dengan Bilog MG 3 PL 77 butir soal (66,96%) masuk kategori baik.Kata kunci: bank soal, tingkat kesulitan, daya beda, pseudo guessing, expert judgment, informasi butir dan tes______________________________________________________________ THE ITEM CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FINAL SEMESTER TEST AS A PREPARATION FOR ENGLISH ITEM BANKAbstract This research aims at developing a pilot english test item bank of the 2nd grade junior high school based on: (1) the characterisctics of test items for final semester test; (2) the total number of test items for the 2nd grade junior high school in Yogyakarta Special Province. This descriptive quantitative research used 6554 samples of students’ answer sheets in 2009 and also employs expert judgment to review the construct, language, as well as the materials of the questions. Students’ responses were also analyzed by using Iteman 3.00, Bilog MG 3.0 3 PL. The result of qualitative analysis with expert judgment which shows that 105 out of the 150 test items are categorized as “good”, and the other are “bad”. The quantitative analysis with Iteman 3.00 shows that 115 out of the 150 test items are categorized as “good” and the quantitative analysis with Bilog MG 3.00 3 PL shows that 67% test items are categorized as good. This community service was a training in writing descriptive text for junior high school students in Joboan village, Probolinggo city. The method of this community service covered four stages: a) analyzing, b) planning and developing the content, c) implementing and d) training. In analyzing stage, the writer found problems faced by the students in writing descriptive text. In planning and developing the content stage, the writer developed method to write descriptive text by utilizing picture and guided question. With this pandemic situation, in implementing stage, the writer gathered 10 participants by applying health protocol suggested by the Government. Training stage was done for three days, 20-22 of July 2020. In the first day, the writer gave explanation related descriptive text. In the second day, the participants started to practice writing descriptive text by using picture and guided question. Feedback was given in the third day. The results of this training were shown by the presence of all participants three days in a row, they also gave responds and asked questions enthusiastically in the training process. The participants no longer faced difficulty in writing descriptive text since they knew that picture and guided question can help them write descriptive text better. The Program of this meeting was composed of three papers on the following subjects: The Slide Rule in the Junior High School, The Slide Rule in the Senior High School, and The Slide Rule in the Junior College. The first paper advocated that the slide rule should be studied in the seventh, eighth and ninth grades. No explanation of the foundation principles of logarithms was mentioned, and only the simplest operations of multiplication, division, proportion, squares and square roots were explained. If the student starts to study an instrument when he is young, even though he doesn't understand all the reasons, he will be ready for the further study of the foundation principles upon which the slide rule is based when be gets to the senior high school and junior college. When the pupil begins the study of logarithms in the third year of high school then he will be ready to understand fully all the reasons for any procedure with the slide rule.

This study aimed to find out the weakness of the students of Islamic Junior High School Darul Ma'arif Jakarta in learning qira>’ah, the lack of students who like qira>’ah lessons, and the weak ability of the students to understand Arabic language. This research also tried to know how to use text in Arabic in learning qira>’ah. This research was a quantitative research using the method of measurement between variables, namely the use of illustrations and interest in learning by using purposive sampling. Various research data were collected through interviews, direct observation, questionnaire division, and test implementation. This study showed that there was no influence of the use of illustration in Arabic text toward the students’ interest in learning qira>’ah.

The aim of this study is to develop Picture Series as a media for teaching writing procedure text at the third year students of Pahlawan Nasional Junior High School. The researcher used Research and Development (R &D) method through ten steps: observing, evaluating need analysis, developing first media, validating with experts, revising it, testing in small group, revising, testing in large group, revising, producing final product. The subjects of this research were 30 students from IX-1 class, and 34 students from IX-2 class. The instrument of collecting data was using questionnaires. The data were analyzed by descriptive text technique. The result of the product from two validators – an English lecturer from State University of Medan and an English teacher from Pahlawan Nasional Junior High School, was in scale of 4 which was in good quality. And the result from all of the students was in scale of 4 which was in good quality too. It means that the developed product/Picture Series is eligible to be used for teaching writing procedure text for the third year students in Pahlawan Nasional Junior High School. Keywords: Research and Development (R & D), writing procedure text, picture series

This study aims to identify, analyze and describe the structure of the use of some errors in the writing of English sentences in the text and the aspects surrounding the Student Semester 3 of English Department STAIN Surakarta. In this study, the researcher describes the error use of 'be' both as a linking verb or auxiliary verb. This is a qualitative-descriptive research. Source data used is a document that is the writing assignment undertaken by the Students taking Writing course. Writing tasks are in narrative, descriptive, expositive, and argumentative forms. To analyze the data, researcher uses intra lingual and extra lingual method. This method is used to connect the linguistic elements in sentences, especially some of the elements either as a linking verb or auxiliary verb in English sentences in the text. Based on the analysis of error regarding the use of 'be' it can be concluded that there are 5 (five) types of errors made by students; error about the absence (omission) of 'be',  error about the addition of 'be', the error on the application of 'be', errors in placements 'be', and a complex error in the use of 'be'. These errors occur due to inter lingual transfer, intra lingual transfer and learning context.

This research purpose to description students’ error in solving problem of two dimension and effort defragmentation. Error analysis which execute base on concept construction error theory that include logical thinking error and hole contruction. This research done execute on students junior high school at eight grade of SMP in Pasuruan who finished two dimension material. Research subject is chose by students who are did mistake considerate of finishing comprehensiveness of students problem base Newman’s steps. From the result research was found that the students’ concept construction error in solving problem is erroring logic thinking and contruction hole. Defragmenting that id did by researcher is giving conflict cognitive to repar logic thinking error and appear scheme which still not build through scaffolding to hole that occur on students’ thinking structure.

Based on observation result, study documentation of interview and questionnaire that was given to the students, problems found, the teaching skills of junior high school science teachersat STOof Ogan Ilir regency inapplying scientific approach had been still low, this research was conducted with the aim to investigate whether STO activity ofOgan Ilir regency could improve the teaching skills of junior high school science teachers in Ogan Ilir regency in implementing the scientific approach. The methodology used in this research is action research which was conducted for three cycles. Each cycle consists of, planning, execution, observation, evaluation and reflection. The result showed that the teaching skill of junior high school science teachers in applying scientific approachhad improved significantly from the first cycle to the second cycle, and from the second cycle to the third cycle. Increasing of teaching skills of science teacher in applying scientific approach was the effect of STO activity.

This research aims to know the descriptive of input, environment, and outcome; analyze the influence of input to outcome; analyze the influence of environment to outcome; analyze the influence of input to environement; and analyze the role of environment in mediating the influence of input to outcome. Student previous achievement consisting of Mathematics and Indonesian National Exam at Junior High School is the educational input. Student engagement consisting of school engagement and class engagement is the educational environment and student accounting competence is the educational outcome. This research was a quantitative research. Data analysis used descriptive and path analysis technique. The total population and sample consists of 128 students of first class accounting. The results and conclusions in this study indicate that accounting competence is still good, student engagement is good, and student previous achievement is very good. There are influences of mathematics National Exam, Indonesian National Exam, school engagement, and class engagement on student accounting competence; there are influences of Mathematics and the Indonesian National Exam on school engagement and class engagement. School engagement mediates the influence of mathematics National Exam on accounting competence, but it does not mediate the influence of the Indonesian National Exam on accounting competence. Then, class engagement mediates the influences of the mathematics and Indonesian National Exam on accounting competencies.
