Conducting field research with a vulnerable population is difficult under the most auspicious conditions, and these difficulties only increase during a pandemic. Here, we describe the practical challenges and ethical considerations surrounding a recent data collection effort with a high-risk population during the COVID-19 pandemic. We detail our strategies related to research design, site selection, and ethical review.

PurposeWomen who experience gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) are at exceptionally high-risk of developing type 2 diabetes (T2DM) later in life. However, limited information is available about genetic and environmental factors that are implicated in the progression from GDM to T2DM.ParticipantsThe Diabetes & Women’s Health (DWH) Study applied a hybrid design, which combined new prospective data collection with existing data in two prospective cohorts, the Danish National Birth Cohort (DNBC) and the Nurses’ Health Study II (NHS II). In total, the DWH Study identified 7759 women with a GDM diagnosis from both cohorts; 4457 women participated in the DWH Study data collection, which included two cycles of follow-up from 2012 to 2014 and 2014 to 2016.Findings to dateProgression from GDM to T2DM was high. In the NHS II group, by 2013, 23.1% (n=846/3667) developed T2DM. In the DNBC group, at cycle 1 (2012–2014), the progression rate was even higher: 27.2% (n=215/790) had developed T2DM. Furthermore, we have shown that women who had GDM experienced a significantly greater risk of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases, as well as early stages of glomerular hyperfiltration and renal damage. Moreover, the DWH Study findings have shown that healthful diet and lifestyle factors and weight control were related to a lower risk of T2DM, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.Future plansPrimary data collection for the DWH Study is complete and investigators are currently investigating interactions of the abovementioned modifiable factors with T2DM genetic susceptibility in determining the risk of progression from GDM to T2DM. Findings from ongoing work will provide further insights for identifying more precise prevention strategies for T2DM and comorbidities in this high-risk population. Future work will examine novel biomarkers of health and disease in this cohort.

Sales-based Akad Murabahah is expected to be a system solution for the results that tend to be high risk. The issue arises more on disbursement of financing which leads to the authority to purchase goods buying and selling objects. The purpose of this research is to analyze the activities of the financial services developed and analyze the application of Akad Murabahah in BMT Al-Amanah Ciawi Tasikmalaya This research uses qualitative descriptive methods with the type of field research with inductive logic. Data collection is done by observation methods, interview methods, and documentation methods. The results of the research found that the financial services in BMT Al-Amanah Ciawi Tasikmalaya are: financial services and financial services financing. In the financing of consumptive products which in this case use the product of Ba'i al-Musawwamah which is an application of Akad Murabahah, there are some provisions regarding the desired product or needed. Because in general, all goods that are desired or required by the member can be facilitated financing by BMT Al-Amanah Ciawi Tasikmalaya. BMT Al-Amanah Ciawi Tasikmalaya implements the concept of trading contract (Murabahah) into 2 financing products namely Murabahah product which is a product of goods financing of business or productive and into the product of Ba'i Al-Musawwamah which is a financing product for consumptive goods

This article deals with fieldwork in challenging research contexts that make preparation for field research particularly difficult. Challenging contexts include generally insecure places, politicized contexts, and unknown settings. Drawing on our experience in the field, we discuss four challenges that are common across these contexts: access, positionality, researcher well-being, and research design and data collection. Bringing together insights from fieldwork with urban elites and in the countryside, this paper describes problems that occurred in both settings and identifies a set of interpersonal skills that helped the authors to tackle the challenges of the field and seize the opportunities it offered. This article posits that recognizing the importance of certain interpersonal skills, namely: openness, empathy, humility, and flexibility, precedes the identification of practical tools. Interpersonal skills, instead, focus on a general attitude that underlies researchers’ capacity to make informed choices about specific courses of actions, preparing fieldworkers to be prepared to confront problems once they arise.

Collecting data for cross-cultural research is time consuming and expensive. We report on techniques for efficient and effective cross-cultural data collection, drawn from 18 cross-cultural studies we conducted in 22 countries. We discuss research design, site selection and collaboration building, ethical review, cross-site protocol design, data collection pitfalls, and data quality checks.

The results of this research are: before an agreement Bank to assess carefully the prospective customer in the form of a comprehensive analysis and is divided into several stages, such as the assessment using the principle of 5C Character (Character of the debitor), Chapacity (Capability Candidate Debitor) , Capital (Capital candidate Debitor), Collateral (Collateral candidate Debitor) and Condition of economy (economic condition of the prospective Borrower). Trading system murabahah financing between Bank Muamalat Harkat with the customer has not fully based on the principles of the Syari'ah. Murabahah financing efforts to resolve the defaults can be solved by R3 is Restrukturing (Arrangement Back), Reconditioning (Terms Back) and Rescheduling (rescheduling), sales collateral and auction execution.

This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive method, which is a problem that guides researchers to explore and photograph situations that will be thoroughly investigated, broadly and deeply. Data collection techniques with field research, while the tools used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of this study inform that in distributing productive zakat funds, Rumah Zakat is in accordance with Law No. 23 of 2011 concerning Management of Zakat. The distribution of productive zakat carried out by the Rumah Zakat North Sumatra through the Senyum Mandiri Program to mustahik in Medan Helvetia Subdistrict has been effective, because it can improve the welfare of mustahik, this is evidenced by the income of eight of thirteen mustahik people in total, five people whose income is fixed and four out of eight people whose income has increased has reached the level of muzaki.

The lecturer's performance assessment by students in the form of an online Lecturer Performance Assessment Instrument Questionnaire (KIPKD) is in line with the work concepts of Green Computing by utilizing computer hardware and software better, more efficiently and more useful. KIPKD online POLSUB uses Google Forms, because it has an attractive and responsive look, provides a fairly complete choice of stuffing model, free, the results are neatly arranged and can be analyzed easily. This research method uses literature review in the form of books, journals that discuss about topics related to the use of Google Forms as a medium in the manufacture of questionnaires for surveys and data collection, as well as related to the concept of Green Computing. While data collection methods used in field research by way of observation of the system running in the academic POLSUB. The use of KIPKD online illustrates that POLSUB participates in preserving the environment, with no 12 paper/year rims, equivalent to 12 tree trunks.
