Nursing is an emotionally demanding and a highly stressful profession as nurses has to deal with different people, in various situations and different times of the day. During their everyday work, they have to cope with extremely emotionally charged and rapidly changing circumstances. It is a universally accepted fact that human nature is prone to wears and tears associated with daily activities. These manifest in the form of stress and strains as witnessed in everyday life. Nurses and other healthcare professionals are exposed on daily basis to different levels of stress and burnout arising from the demand for their jobs. To explore the coping strategies of nursing student against clinical and academic stress. A quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional study design was used to explore coping strategies of nursing students against academic and clinical stress at public hospital Lahore. The instrument use for the data collection was adopted questioner and convenient sampling technique was used. The mean difference is significant at the 0.05 level. It is observed that academic and clinical stress sources and coping mechanisms are statistically significant, as p-value < 0.05. The present study was considered as a cornerstone that gives strong support towards coping strategies of nursing student against academic and clinical stress. It highlighted there are number of clinical and academic stress that hinder good performance of student. These results substantiate the belief that aspects of the practice environment affect student nurse academic performance and most importantly, the quality of care delivered on clinical placement to the patient.Int. <p class="jkshead1">ABSTRACT</p><p><em>Burnout is physical, emotional, and mental fatigue due to long-term involvement in situations full of emotional demands. Nursing students may be at risk for burnout due to the many tasks and routines of lif</em><em>e.</em><em> </em><em>This research aimed to describe burnout in students of nursing department and burnout level difference between two periods of intake. This research used quantitative descriptive study with the type of cross sectional design. The sampling technique used total sampling technique. The sample size was 156 respondents</em><em>.</em><em> Data were analyzed by using frequency distribution and percentage, as well as Kolmogorov-Smirnov.<strong> </strong>The majority of respondents were female (80,8%), chose a major that fit their interest (67,9%), very satisfactory GPA (62,8%), and from Central Java (65,4%). The number of respondents in 2013 and 2014 was 77 and 79 students. respectively. The majority of students experiencing moderate level of burnout was (56,4%). Kolmogorov-Smirnov test indicated p-value of 0,170.</em><em> </em><em>The majority of students experienced moderate level of burnout and there was no difference of burnout level between 2013 intake and 2014 intake. </em><em></em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><strong><em>Keywords</em></strong><em>: block system, burnout, nursing student</em></p><p> </p><p class="jkshead1">ABSTRAK</p><p><em>Burnout </em>merupakan kelelahan fisik, emosional, dan mental yang disebabkan keterlibatan jangka panjang dalam situasi yang penuh dengan tuntutan emosional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran <em>burnout</em> pada mahasiswa jurusan keperawatan dan perbedaan tingkat <em>burnout</em> antara kedua periode angkatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain c<em>ross sectional</em>. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik <em>total sampling</em> sejumlah 156 responden. Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan persentase, serta <em>Kolmogorov-Smirnov</em>. Mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin perempuan (80,8%), kuliah sesuai dengan minatnya (67,9%), IPK sangat memuaskan (62,8%), dan berasal dari Jawa Tengah (65,4%). Jumlah responden angkatan 2013 dan 2014 adalah 77 dan 79 orang. Mayoritas mahasiswa mengalami <em>burnout </em>tingkat sedang (56,4%). Uji <em>Kolmogorov-Smirnov</em> menunjukkan <em>p-value</em> 0,170. Introduction: Toothbrushes play an essential role in oral hygiene and is commonlypracticed on daily basis to clean the oral cavity. It can serve as a reservoir for microorganismsin healthy and infected person. Objectives: To isolate the bacterial contaminants on usedtoothbrushes and to compare the type of bacterial growth in capped and uncapped toothbrushesamong general population of Karachi. Study Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Study wasconducted among general population of Karachi. Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry,Hamdard University, Karachi. Period: February to September 2014. Methodology: Usingconvenient sampling technique, data was collected from subjects of different socioeconomicstatus. Toothbrushes for culture was collected under standard precautions to observe asepticconditions. Descriptive analysis was done for all independent variables using SPSS version20. The frequency of various bacterial contaminants on used toothbrushes were determinedand chi square test was used to observe the association of bacterial growth among cappedand uncapped toothbrushes. P-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results:Out of the total 106, 51 (48.1%) were female and 55 (51.9%) male participants. Substantialnumber of toothbrushes 91 (85.8%) were found to have bacterial contamination. Majority ofthe participants (82.1%) were between 19 . 59 years of age, intermediate or above (61.3%),monthly income rupees . 20000 (46%), using same brush >3 months (50.0%), brushing teethtwice a day (62.3%) and keeping toothbrushes uncapped were (66.0%). Statistically significant(P<0.05) difference was found between capped and uncapped toothbrushes and presenceof Klebsiella and Pseudomonas. Conclusion: The study concluded that used toothbrushesare significantly contaminated with bacteria which may cause serious health problems amongindividuals and families.

As we all know that lockdown has been announced in the county due to coronavirus which has obstructed students in their studies. In today’s highly competitive world, students face various academic problems including exam stress, disinterest in attending classes, and the inability to understand a subject. Academic stress is becoming increasingly common and widespread among adolescents. This study investigated the academic stress and stress coping strategies on impact of COVID 19 lockdown experienced by the students at University. The sample was drawn through convenient sampling technique and consisted of 250 adolescents studying in the selected colleges at Kattankulathur. Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation. Results showed that the correlation value -0.167 is highly significant since the p-value is less than 0.01 hence, we can say that there is a highly significant negative correlation between Academic Stress and Coping Strategies”. This study concludes that, if the academic stress score increases then the coping strategy score will be decreasing and vice versa.

Background: Older people have complex requirements arising from future conditions. Nursing services regarding the care of advance age population is really important in to the readiness of nursing student. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Nobel Medical College Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar, Nepal from February to July 2020. A total of 118 Bachelor nursing students were selected by using a non- probability consecutive sampling technique. Data was collected by using Personal disposition regarding care of advance age people were evaluated by using standardized tool, Nolan’s Intent to work with older people questionnaire. All calculations and statistical analysis are processed by the SPSS 22.0. Results: It showed that personal disposition of regarding care of advance age people were negative perception about 51.7%. Among variable, age and study year were significantly associated with personal disposition (p=< 0 .001). However, there was no significant result showed between the family type, nursing programme and prior experience with advance age. Conclusion: The study concluded that the Bachelor nursing students had relatively negative personal disposition regarding care of advance age people. More study is important to higher understand students’ experiences and insight. These must certainly be augment to strengthen an result that is improved is clinical the look after the older grownups.

Literature has documented that student nurses undergo stress in their academic and clinical setting. This raises concerns because stress during undergraduate training may result in psychological or emotional impairment during the nurses’ professional life and ultimately affect the quality of patient care. The Objective of the study was to study the prevalence of stress, and the association between sociodemographic factors, stressors and coping strategies with stress. This was a cross-sectional study on 96-year 1-3 nursing students from a government university done between 2015-2018. Bahasa Malaysia translated The General Health Questionnaire, Stressors in Nursing Student Scale Questionnaire and Brief COPE Questionnaire was used in this study. This study had Malay (95.9%) and female (91.7%) dominated population. The prevalence of stress in student nurses was 25%. No association was reported between sociodemographic factors and stress. Among the 4 stressors educational, clinical, confidence and financial, clinical stressor scored the highest mean 6.40 (SD±3.66). Confidence stressor (AOR=1.26 95% CI 1.04-1.53) was the only stressor associated with stress. The top 3 coping strategies practiced by the student nurses were religion (praying), acceptance and planning. Self-blame (AOR 8.18 95% CI 1.86-35.91) was the only coping strategy associated with stress. Stress management programmes, and workshops on stress and coping strategies should be conducted yearly to ensure a well-balanced environment for good learning experiences and prevent stress related health problems and improved academic performance.

The success of academic achievement has a lot of determinants. Social environment background, personal characteristic, and quality of education are only a few of those factors (Zimmerman and Schunk, 1989). Own characteristics have a lot of impact on academic success, such as self-esteem, motivation, and also the will for an individual to reach their success. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of motivation’s component with self-esteem aspect among nursing student in the faculty of nursing Jember University.This study employed a cross-sectional study. It involved 84 respondent using purposive sampling technique from a nursing student in the faculty of the nursing University of Jember from September to November 2018. A self-administered questionnaire was designed to collect the data, including sociodemographic data, self-esteem scale, and Student motivation Scale. The data were analyzed using Spearman rank. The results showed that the median of the motivation was 50, with a minimum value of 28 and a maximum value of 140, whereas the mean value of self-esteem was 2.46 with a standard deviation of 0.56. There was a significant correlation between motivation and self-esteem (p-value: 0.001; r: 0.358). The correlation was weak and positive, which means the higher the value of motivation, the higher the self-esteem. The correlation analysis revealed that motivation has a significant effect on self-esteem. Its is show that raising motivation must be high on the list for an educational program.

Abstract Background Resilience has emerged as a concept that could explain and predict good academic and well-being of students in stressful and traumatic situations. This study was conducted to assess resilience and identify predictors of high resilience scores among nursing students in Palestine. Methods This cross-sectional study adhered to the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology statement. Undergraduate nursing students in all academic years were recruited and asked to complete a questionnaire the contained the trait and state resilience scales. Results In this study, 290 students completed the questionnaire (response rate = 92.4%). The mean combined resilience score was 134.1 (SD: 12.8). Higher combined resilience scores were predicted by being in first academic year (p-value < 0.003), living in Israeli seized areas (p-value < 0.044), absence of chronic diseases (p-value = 0.035), experiencing addiction issues (p-value = 0.031), living in a house with enough number of rooms per siblings (p-value = 0.015), and having a study routine on daily basis (p-value < 0.001). Conclusions Undergraduate nursing students in Palestine reported relatively high trait and state resilience. Higher resilience scores were predicted by favorable living and study conditions. More studies are still needed to investigate the relationship between resilience scores, perceived well-being, willingness to care, and future success of nursing students in Palestine.

Abstract Introduction Academic stress and study habits are crucial indicators of academic success. At the moment, faulty study habits press on the students into academic stress. The present study was conducted to identify the academic stress and study habits of university students of health science. Methods This cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted among 150 undergraduate students of nursing, physiotherapy, and pharmacy (n = 50 in each group). A stratified random sampling technique was used to select the study participants. The information on academic stress and study habits was collected by using the Student Stress Inventory and Palsane and Sharma Study Habit Inventory, respectively. Results Mean score of academic stress was found to be 75.353 ± 16.463. Pharmacy students had a higher level of stress compared to physiotherapy and nursing students (p = 0.013). Furthermore, the prevalence of unsatisfactory study habits among undergraduate students was 72%, with a mean score of 52.7 ± 9.152. Also, nursing students had a higher level of study habits compared to physiotherapy and pharmacy Students. There was no significant relationship found between study habits and academic stress (r = −0.048, p = 0.557). There was a significant association found between study habits and gender (p = 0.021), as well the association found between stress level and course type, Pre-University Course percentage, and first-year percentage (p = 0.044, 0.04, and 0.044 respectively). Conclusion Academic stress and poor study habits are prevalent among undergraduate students. This indicates strategies need to be formed to enhance healthy study habits and alleviate the academic stress of the students, mainly in professional courses; it is an urgent need.

Background: Coronavirus disease is a highly transmittable and pathogenic viral infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, which poses therapeutic dilemmas. Some suggestions for drug treatment seem problematic. Beliefs about the causes of health problems are determinants of treatment seeking decisions. Hence, one of the alternatives for the solution of health problems is employing traditional medicine to prevent coronavirus disease 19. Objective: To assess the knowledge, attitude, and utilization of drugs toward the coronavirus disease 19 pandemic among Bale zone residents. Methods: Community-based cross-sectional study was conducted among the Bale Zone population from May 30 to June 30, 2020. Eight hundred fifty-four participants were selected using a single population formula, and a multistage sampling technique was employed. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25.0. Descriptive and binary logistic regression was used to analyze the outcomes. A p value ⩽ 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Out of the total 854 respondents, about 534 (62.5%) got information about coronavirus disease 19 from TV/radio. More than two-thirds (71.9%) of the respondents have known that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 has no curative drugs, and 65.4% had a more appropriate attitude toward overall drug use in coronavirus disease 19. Level of education and, attitude towards drug use were singnificantly associated with knowledge of drugs, source of information about coronavirus disease 19 and having good practice were significantly associated with atittude toward drug utilization. Conclusion: One out of two study participants have good knowledge regarding drugs to the coronavirus disease 19 pandemic. Illiterate people in the community were identified to have poor knowledge about drugs, hence community educuation program is important to improve the knowledge about drugs towards the coronavirus disease 19 pandemic.

BackgroundPatient satisfaction with mental healthcare service is recognised as an important integral part of measuring the outcomes and performance of clinical service delivery. It is not well studied in Ethiopia. Therefore, it is essential to improve service in the future.AimsTo assess patient satisfaction and associated factors among psychiatry outpatients at St. Paulo’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.MethodsAn institutional-based cross-sectional study was conducted with consecutive sampling technique from May to June 2018. Data were collected using a Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ-8). Both bivariate and multivariate ordinal logistic regression analyses were used. Variables with p value <0.05 at multivariate analysis were considered statistically significant.ResultsA total of 589 participants were enrolled with a response rate of 98.2%. In regard to the magnitude of patient satisfaction, 50.3% (95% CI 46.0 to 54.2) were highly satisfied, 31.0% (95% CI 27.2 to 34.8) were satisfied, and 18.7% (95% CI 15.4 to 22.1) were dissatisfied. Male sex (adjusted OR (AOR) 2.30, 95% CI 1.57 to 3.36), inability to read and write (AOR 2.23, 95% CI 1.10 to 4.66), being unemployed (AOR 1.69, 95% CI 1.15 to 2.47), obtaining services for free (AOR 1.57, 95% CI 1.11 to 2.22), and availability of medication (AOR 1.62, 95% CI 1.13 to 2.23) were significantly associated with patient satisfaction.ConclusionsThe study showed that further improvements in patient satisfaction are required. Male sex, inability to read and write, being unemployed, obtaining services free of charge, and availability of medication were significantly associated with patient satisfaction. More than half of the participants were dissatisfied with the waiting time to receive services. The provision of services within a reasonable timeframe and meeting patient expectations are helpful for good health outcomes.
