Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews with related parties, observation and even documentation. The scientific findings obtained are that New Media gives a superior evaluation quality by displaying its properties that provide cost efficiency, materials, and test execution time. With new media a wide area coverage can be achieved. In addition, the transparency in the mechanism for presenting questions and also in safeguarding texts is the result of the presence of new media in the field of education. This paper discusses the New Media theory approach which reflects the media for evaluating student learning characterized by the use of internet networks; The theory of technological determinism; which implies the use of technology as the dominant influencing factor in learning evaluation media, the theory of educational constructivism; which indicates students learn actively with the presence of new media in learning evaluation, and also the Innovation Diffusion Theory; which represents government policy innovation disseminated to school administrators computer based exam. So, it can be concluded that the presence of new media changes behavior change from one side of learning evaluation. Keywords: New Media, Learning Evaluation, Computer-Based National Examination

This article describes the development and pilot testing of a computer-based, multiple-behavior obesity prevention program for adolescents. Using the Transtheoretical Model as a framework, this intervention offers individualized feedback based on readiness to engage in physical activity, to consume fruits and vegetables, and to limit television viewing. Focus groups and interviews with students, teachers, school administrators, and experts guided the development. Forty-five students participated in a baseline intervention session and completed a 16-item acceptability measure. Ratings were positive, with item means ranging from 3.60–4.75 on a 5-point scale. Student responses to open-ended questions aided in the enhancement of the intervention, for which an effectiveness trial begins in September 2006. This formative work demonstrated the acceptability of this school-based intervention approach, which can be promoted and prescribed by school nurses. Further, if found effective, it can be disseminated as an efficient, low-cost, population-based approach designed to address the epidemic of obesity.

New media is a trending innovation and its influence in the promotion of mutual understanding between organizations and strategic publics is a more contemporary issue. This study evaluates the perception of public relations practitioners on the incorporation of new media into the process of promoting good relationships between organizations and strategic publics in Nigeria. The fundamental goal is to examine if public relations practitioners find new media helpful in carrying out public relations activities in their organizations. This study is hinged on Technological determinism theory.  Findings show that public relations practitioners of both public and private organizations do perceive the adoption of new media technologies in the performance of their function for the promotion of mutual understanding as supportive to quick and interactive approaches to dissemination of information from organizations to strategic stakeholders and the public. The study recommends that more public relations practitioners of organizations especially public organizations should be encouraged to use new media in course of executing their professional assignments.

Drawing on grounded theory approach and a qualitative meta-analysis, this chapter intends to systematically review and synthesize the theories, methods, and findings of both qualitative and quantitative inquiries on computer-based instructional games. A major purpose of this literature review and meta-analysis is to inform policy and practice based on existing studies. Four major recurring themes concerning the effectiveness of computer-based instructional games have emerged from a comparative analysis with 89 instructional gaming studies and are discussed with the support of exemplar research. The chapter will assist practitioners and policymakers in understanding the “best practices” and key factors of a computer game-based learning program.

The digitalization of youth signifies their complete immersion, active participation and involvement in the production, consumption and sharing of digital content using various interconnected/interfaced digital devices in their social network interactions. A prerequisite to successful commercial communication with young people is having a good understanding of new media, along with their social and psychological framework. The behaviour, motivation and emotions of youth in general and in relation to digital technologies, especially the meaning attached to mobile phones, the Internet (mainly social network sites) and games (computer-based and portable) should also be addressed if advertisers aim to reach this target group.

Abstract Educational interventions on youth sexting often focus on individual sexters or would-be sexters, and are driven by the aim of encouraging young people to abstain from producing and sharing personal sexual images. This approach has been criticised for failing to engage with the complex sociocultural context to youth sexting. Drawing upon qualitative group and one-to-one interviews with 41 young people aged 14 to 18 living in a county in south-east England, I explore young people’s perceptions and practices surrounding sexting. By taking a grounded theory approach to the research, I reveal how young people’s shaming of digitally mediated sexual self-expression shaped and was shaped by a denial of rights to bodily and sexual autonomy and integrity. This denial of rights underpinned harmful sexting practices, including violations of privacy and consent, victim blaming, and bullying. I conclude that responses to youth sexting should attend to this broader youth cultural context, emphasise the roles and responsibilities of bystanders, and encourage a collectivist digital sexual ethics based upon rights to one’s body and freedom from harm (Albury, New Media and Society 19(5):713–725, 2017; Dobson and Ringrose, Sex Education 16(1):8–21, 2015).

The goal of any product is to be used. In a very real sense, people judge the success or failure of any product by the extent to which it is used by intended users in their daily practice. Understanding a product from the perspective of the end-user is one of the most important and often overlooked keys to the success of any project. Many products suffer from a lack of widespread utilization because developers and managers often have a deterministic view of the relationship between technology and users. This deterministic view leads to an over reliance on technical specifications as the driving force in the end users’ decision to adopt and use a product. However, a wide variety of human, organizational, social, and cultural factors also affect the acceptance and use of any product. Any organization, even those in the most highly technical and advanced fields, is, in reality, a dynamic example of a sociotechnical system in which people and machines interact, negotiate usage, compete for primacy, and generally co-exist. This chapter will provide a broad theoretical overview of the critical role that end-users play in the adoption, implementation, utilization, and institutionalization of any technology. A number of relevant theories will be discussed, including diffusion theory (e.g., Rogers, 1995), technological determinism (e.g., Ellul, 1967), sociotechnical systems (e.g., Volti, 2006), and utopian and dystopian philosophical perspectives (e.g., Rubin, 1996). In addition to a theoretical overview, this chapter will provide practical recommendations for developers and managers who wish to increase the utilization of their products by bringing the user into the development process. The practical recommendations will include a discussion of Ely’s (1999) conditions that facilitate the implementation of innovations. These conditions include developing a sense of dissatisfaction with the status quo, providing sufficient time to become familiar with a new technology, and generating meaningful commitment to the project by upper level managers. Also included in the practical recommendations will be a brief discussion of various organizational components that enable the introduction of innovations (Surry, Ensminger, & Haab, 2005). These components include the development and maintenance of an adequate infrastructure of supporting technologies, an emphasis on shared decision making, and ongoing support systems. Other recommendations to be discussed in this chapter will be derived from rapid prototyping models of development (e.g., Tripp & Bichelmeyer, 1990) and recent surveys of user-centered design methods.

In the present paper we consider the r-molecular reversible reaction rA⇌B from several viewpoints. The deterministic theory for integral reaction orders is considered first and is subsequently extended to cover the case of fractional order reactions. Stochastic models are then proposed, the analyses being carried through by spectral methods and, in the case of first order reactions, the first passage time problem is also examined. Finally, we use a diffusion theory approach to the problem to obtain results which are valid for a large number of molecules.

English and Mathematics are two subjects been tested in Computer-Based National Examination (UNBK). Considering the importance of those subjects, we as the society servant team, guide the students in the process of that exam preparation. The purpose of this activity to build and strengthen the students’ level of understanding of the subjects to make them more ready to face the exam. The methods are observation, pretest to measure the early competence, and posttest to measure the increasing level of understanding after joining a series of guidance and training. The result is that there is a significant increase in the level of understanding among students regarding those subjects. The Mathematics from 5,0 becomes6,8 and English subject from 5,2 to 7,0.

Examination and repetition of activities such as midterm tests, semester tests and class increase examinations at SMK Wira Buana 1  Bogor are still manual, namely using paper, this is felt to be less effective because it takes a lot of costs, time, place and personnel in its implementation and still exists cheating students in carrying out the exam. In addition, the development of information technology and systems in the world of education is increasing, one example is the Computer Based National Examination (UNBK) also called the Computer Based Test (CBT), which is a system of implementing national examinations using computers as a test medium. This is the background of the author to make a web-based school exam information system there is SMK Wira Buana 1 Bogor. The method used in designing this web-based examination system is the waterfall method which is expected to be one of the breakthroughs in the running of the School Examination, both the Mid-Semester Examination and the Semester Final Examination which can reduce the operational costs of activities. The School Examination Information System becomes a medium for students to practice computer-based exams that can be accessed by all students of Bogor Wira Buana 1 Vocational School so that they can improve readiness and familiarize students in facing Computer-Based National Exams and provide convenience for schools in conducting examinations and providing speed in getting the test result score.
