The required level of complexity of the arm wrestlers’ competitive activities demands high requirements for the functional state of the spine. Irrational approach to the training process without taking into account the biogeometric profile prevents the improvement of physical qualities, which leads to a violation of the training cycle, reduced athletic performance and efficiency. One of the most important conditions for postural disorders in athletes is the relative muscle weakness in some parts of the musculoskeletal system, the manifestations of which occur as a result of heavy training loads. The aim of the study was to assess the biogeometric profile of the musculoskeletal system in arm wrestlers. Posture examinations have been performed in the frontal and sagittal planes according to the REEDCO posture scale. The rounded shoulder index has been calculated as a percentage of the ratio of shoulder width to the shoulder arch. Measurement of the depth of physiological curves of the spine has been performed according to the method of Z.P. Kovalkova. Two groups of arm wrestlers have been examined: Gr. 1 comprised of 16 athletes aged 18 to 24, Gr. 2 included 14 athletes aged 25 to 32. According to the REEDCO posture scale for arm athletes, Gr. 2 revealed more significant changes in posture. When calculating the rounded shoulder index, similar changes have been observed. That is, physical activity of large amount and intensity in arm wrestling leads to existing changes in the biogeometric profile of athletes. More reduction of the curvature of the spine in the cervical and lumbar regions according to the method of Z.P. Kovalkova has been observed in a group of arm wrestlers aged 25 to 32 years. According to the data obtained, in course of time arm wrestlers have more significant changes in posture, which, in our opinion, is a consequence of physical activity of large amount and intensity without taking into account the changes in the biogeometric profile of athletes. Thus, the study confirms that it is necessary to integrate correctional and preventive program aimed at treating impaired biogeometric profile, in the training process of arm wrestlers.

Being at a high level of sports form, some athletes who specialize in Martial Arts cannot cope with negative emotions, which leads to a decrease in their athletic performance. In the competitive and post-competitive periods there are sharp negative emotional shifts, so most athletes who specialize in Martial Arts, in particular Sambo wrestling (sports and combat sections) unable to normalize their condition, so the psychologist, as well as the coach – must support the athlete during the formation and development of his self-regulation in terms of many years of training. As a result of theoretical research, members of the research group developed a program of mental self-regulation of Sambo fighters (combat section) in the system of their annual training cycle. The program developed by us provides consideration of features of the organization of educational and training process of sportsmen who specialize in Martial Arts at various stages of an annual cycle of their preparation, namely: preparatory period (general-preparatory and special-preparatory stages) – formation of a positive and active attitude to the development and self-improvement of self-regulation skills in different conditions of long-term training of athletes specializing in Martial Arts, development and improvement of mental functions that underlie the provision of self- regulation of Sambo fighters (combat section); competitive stage – training of combat sambo wrestlers to manage their own consciousness aimed at achieving maximum sports results, increasing the emotional stability of combat Sambo wrestlers; transitional stage – restoration (stabilization) of mental and psychophysical levels of combat Sambo wrestlers. Prospects for further research in the chosen direction of scientific intelligence include testing the program of mental self- regulation of Sambo fighters (combat section) in the system of their annual training cycle.

Sequencing of the human genome and further developments in “omics” technologies have opened up new possibilities in the study of molecular mechanisms underlying athletic performance. It is expected that molecular markers associated with the development and manifestation of physical qualities (speed, strength, endurance, agility, and flexibility) can be successfully used in the selection systems in sports. This includes the choice of sports specialization, optimization of the training process, and assessment of the current functional state of an athlete (such as overtraining). This review summarizes and analyzes the genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic studies conducted in the field of sports medicine.

Purpose.to study the effect of physical exertion on the visual analyzer and the general functional state in children and adolescents who regularly engage in sports.Material and Methods. The study was conducted in a group of 600 children and adolescents aged from 8 to 17 years who were divided into two groups of 300 people: the I group — “athletes” (regularly engaged in sports), the second group — “schoolchildren” (those engaged in sports less than 3 hours per week). Each group was divided into two subgroups of 150 people — “emmetrops” and “myopes”. The parameters of visual acuity, axial eye length, indices of regional eye hemodynamics were evaluated.Results.After 12 months, the group “athletes” showed a statistically significant decrease in refraction on average by 0.14 ± 0.18 on the background of stable visual acuity. In the group “schoolchildren” there was a significant reduction in visual acuity without correction by 0.06 ± 0.19 (p = 0.004) and refractive indices by 0.35 ± 0.61 (p < 0.001) on the average. After 12 months, among the emmetrops, myopia was diagnosed in 6 % of cases in the “athletes” group and 10 % in the “schoolchildren” group. Among the “myopes” in both groups there was a significant increase in the body mass index and the number of persons with impaired functional state of the musculoskeletal system in the form of a violation of posture and shape of the foot in comparison with the “emmetrops”.Сonclusion.Regular physical activity can be considered as one of the factors preventing the development and progression of myopia, and functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system in the form of violation of posture and shape of the foot and excessive body weight — as possible risk factors for the development of myopia.

Football is a total sport and its requirements are enormous in terms of the parallel development of physical qualities, technical tactics and psychological abilities. Depending on the age, the training process is structured according to the individual and general tasks of the preparation, the main directions are defined, which includes the general pre-training, special-preparatory, pre-competitive and competitive stages of the annual training cycle. The dynamics of 17 indicators for physical, technical and physiological training of 13 – 14-year-olds practicing football have been analyzed. The groups of 12 children each are formed according to their position – Attackers and Defenders. Changes were observed as a result of a training method used by the authors during a 14-week cycle of time and 42 training sessions. The authors believe that the players should do exercises which are closer to the nature of the physical activity they perform during a match depending on their game post. Attackers - should emphasize on speed and force-strength trainings, and defenders should give priority to trainings for general and tempo-endurance. Due to the still insufficient determination of 13-14-year-old players to a certain game post, the authors refrain from making recommendations for strictly specialized trainings which are specific for older football players.

Under high-intensity loads, the athlete's bodies take place a number of biochemical reactions and physiological processes that can lead to hyperbilirubinemia. The factors that can initiate the onset of this phenomenon include the syndrome of micro-damage muscle, violation of the integrity of erythrocyte membranes, decreased blood pH, malnutrition and increase oxygen demand of the body. Degree of expression of manifestations of physiological bilirubinemia depends on the level of adaptation of the athlete to the physical activities offered. Hyperbilirubinemia in athletes can be one of the components of the deterioration of the functional state, forming the symptoms of endogenous intoxication. The relevance of this problem in sport lies in the relatively low detection rate of hyperbilirubinemia due to the lack of regular screening studies. However, in drawing up a plan of nutritional- metabolic support for training and competitive activity and recovery measures, must not only the individual reaction of the athlete body to physical activity, but also the severity of shifts in the indicators of bilirubin metabolism and their ratio. The article describes the reasons for the increase in bilirubin levels, which can be caused by both the effect of physical activity and by the presence of pathological processes in athletes. The factors influencing the blood serum’s bilirubin content are also highlighted, which include the state of erythrocyte cell membranes and the rate of hemoglobin destruction, the functional state of the liver, the specifics of physical loads and the use of ergogenic pharmacological agents by athletes. Particular accent has been placed on the illumination of hereditary hyperbilirubinemias, which may have been detected at the stage of selection of athletes. The most common phenomenon is Gilbert's syndrome, which occurs in 2-5% of cases in the general population, is characterized in the clinic by a benign flow and is manifested by episodes of jaundice and an increase in total bilirubin content to moderate values due to indirect. The frequency of detection of hyperbilirubinemias in the population of athletes is 4.68%, among which Gilbert's disease accounts for almost half (48.7%). Conclusion. The work highlighted the pathogenesis and diagnostic algorithm of Gilbert's disease, and also emphasized that its drug prevention and correction in athletes to maintain functional and physical fitness should be carried out taking into account anti-doping rules, which requires upon diagnosis timely receipt of a therapeutic exclusion

This study explored whether children differentiate between their physical capabilities at play activities, informal recreational activities, and formal competitive activities. Harter’s (11) six-item Athletic Competence subscale from the SelfPerception Profile for Children was administered to 578 children and adolescents (ages 7-15 years). The items were modified to refer to three different categories of physical activity instead of sport or outdoor games as used in the original subscale. Repeated measures ANOVA revealed that children differentiated between the three categories of physical activity, and that the competitive sport category was their area of lowest perceived competence. Males had higher levels of perceived competence than females in each category.
