The choice of the optimal system of indicators plays an important role in making management decisions, which would allow the most accurate and comprehensive assessment of the enterprise efficiency. Each company develops its own system of indicators in order to determine the effectiveness. There is currently no single approach to assessment of the economic efficiency in enterprise management. The most common areas are to determine the effectiveness of management as the ratio of the result to the costs and the ratio of the result to the intended goals. The article analyzes different approaches to the efficiency evaluation of the enterprise, in particular, the inclusion in the system of economic indicators not only financial results, but also resource efficiency, achievements of modern management, personnel evaluation, indicators of innovation and investment activity. The use of an integrated indicator is also proposed for a comprehensive assessment of the enterprise, which would provide an idea of all components of the enterprise. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, the essence and role of a balanced scorecard are determined, as well as its advantages and disadvantages in comparison with other accounting methods are highlighted. It is established that a balanced scorecard is a tool of management accounting, the main purpose of which is to ensure the function of collecting, systematizing and analyzing information, which is the basis for developing and making management decisions. The introduction of a balanced scorecard provides an opportunity to monitor changes in important factors for the company and respond flexibly to changes in the internal and external environment, as well as to solve the problem of increasing the profitability and capitalization of the enterprise through effective planning and use of resources.

he article investigates the features of using a value-oriented approach to enterprise management in modern changing eco-nomic conditions. It is established, that the urgent problem today is to determine a reasonable target for value-oriented manage-ment. The application of indicators and models of enterprise valuation adequate to the Ukrainian economic conditions is analyzed. The advantages of the indicator of the value of the enterprise as the main criterion for assessing the efficiency of economic entities are identified. The foreign experience of introduction of the value-oriented approach in the management of the enterprises is ana-lyzed. The main directions of increasing the value of the company are formulated. It is established, that the indicator in the system of value-oriented management approach should reflect the value of the company and the effectiveness of management decisions. The main goal of the value-oriented management system is formulated, which is to coordinate and motivate decision-making that will lead to long-term competitive advantages. It was found, that companies which use the principles of value-oriented approach in management, have advantages over companies in similar areas of business that use traditional tools for making management decisions. The advantages of the value-oriented approach and obstacles in its implementation in the management of Ukrainian enterprises are identified. According to the VBM approach, the main indicator of evaluating the results of the enterprise is its value. This indicator of the value-oriented approach has certain advantages over traditional criteria for assessing the effectiveness of the company. It is noted, that using the approach of cost-oriented management of the enterprise does not always cause positive changes in the company's activities, which is caused by such major problems as difficulties in setting motivational goals and incon-sistency between EVA and shareholder value. It is proposed to take the maximization of the market value of the domestic enterprise as a benchmark for ensuring its positive results. Keywords: Value Based Management, value-based approach, value of company, value assessment, added value. The paper analyzes various scientific approaches to assessing the effectiveness of enterprise management. The advantages and disadvantages of using the four most common methods of assessing the effectiveness of enterprises are substantiated, such as 1) comprehensive assessment based on the methods of economic analysis; 2) analysis based on experimental estimates; 3) using the scoring method; 4) assessment based on testing. Given the fact that currently there is no single approach to assessing the effectiveness of enterprise management, including agricultural enterprises, the article proposes the author's method of assessing the effectiveness of management in agricultural enterprises. This methodology assumes that the effectiveness of management in agricultural enterprises is determined by integrating three indicators: economic efficiency of management, social efficiency of management, and organizational efficiency of management. The proposed methodology includes the gradual integration of partial 19 indicators in terms of economic, social, and organizational efficiency. Analysis of this phenomenon was conducted based on agricultural enterprises of the Ivano-Frankivsk region aimed at testing the developed methodology for assessing the effectiveness of management. The paper presents the research of the influence of the number of employees on the level of management efficiency in agricultural enterprises, the influence of enterprise size (by land area) on the level of management efficiency in agricultural enterprises, and the influence of average employment per 100 hectares of agricultural land on the level of agricultural management. The research was done using the grouping method. According to the results of the study, it was established that the developed methods for assessing the effectiveness of the management of agricultural enterprises can be used in practice.

This article discusses the issues of improving strategic management of sustainable development of enterprises of the Russian Federation. The management of many companies continues to demonstrate an inadequate attitude to the development and implementation of a system of measures to ensure the proper level of sustainability of an industrial company. The main problem considered in the study is the insufficiently perfect mechanism for the strategic management of the investment policy of industrial enterprises in the Ural region of Russia. The management of many enterprises does not conduct a comprehensive assessment of sustainability and does not rely on the triad of sustainable development indicators—economic, environmental, and social. This negatively affects the strategic management decisions made. Under an insufficiently perfect mechanism, in this study, we refer to the following: At Russian regional enterprises, there is no close connection between the processes of making strategic decisions and the investment policy of the enterprise. This leads to certain errors in the formation of the enterprise strategy. The connecting element of these processes is highlighted. It is a comprehensive assessment of sustainability. The main objective of this study is to improve the model and mechanism of strategic management of the investment policy of the enterprise in the context of the environmental and economic status of the business. The proposed model is based on the principles considered from the perspective of three directions—economic, social, and environmental. This model provides for a close interconnection of components: management decision-making, investment policy development, and comprehensive assessment of sustainable development strategy. Based on the analysis of scientific works, the practice of managing industrial enterprises and certain gaps have been identified in theoretical sources related to the topic, problem, and objectives of the article. The methodological base of the study is determined, and methodological aspects of the analysis of the ecological state of business projects and the formation of strategic management of investment activity of an industrial enterprise are substantiated. The model for managing sustainable enterprise development is presented. This model provides for close interaction between the mechanisms for developing strategic decisions and managing the investment policy of the enterprise based on the environmental component of the business as a factor in sustainable development. Tools are proposed that ensure interconnection and synergy between the components of strategic management of the investment policy of the company and improve the quality of management decisions.

Projects that require analytical support can evolve from a number of different situations, for example new molecular entities from drug discovery; process changes; packaging changes; site changes; line extensions; and inlicensed projects and compounds. Laboratory automation has been shown to provide a viable and practical solution to assisting in analytical development. However, it is not always the most logical answer. A truly flexible and responsive analytical unit will make a decision on a case-by-case basis, when faced with a new project, whether it is best to: automate some or all aspects/testing involved; contract out to a reputable and approved contract research organization (CRO); hire temporary help; use available in-house resources; use a combination of the options shown above (for example to evaluate the complexity of the new project versus what the in-house resources are currently working on). The paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the various options with respect to providing analytical support and suggests optionsfor the most effective use of resources. The role of automation as one of the important tools in the arsenal of these options is highlighted.

Recognising that implementing an agricultural enterprise impacts the state of the environment, its ecological stability, and the self- regulatory capabilities of ecosystems, the aim of this paper is to acquaint the professional and lay public about the attitudes of Slovakian agricultural enterprises towards environmental protection and sustainable development. The paper draws attention to present methods, techniques, and tools that enterprise management are applying for the purpose of meeting and overcoming environmental challenges. The data for this research were obtained from controlled interviews and a questionnaire survey conducted across more than 90 agricultural enterprises. Based on the data outcomes, research premises and formulated research hypotheses put forward are verified by using Friedman, Wilcoxon, Kruskal–Wallis, and Pearson chi-square tests. Discussion of the findings points out that although Slovakia is not yet one of the most polluting countries, promoting the application of environmental protection approaches for sustainable development is of the essence. The most important agriculturally related step, mitigating environmental degradation, is to promote changes in the moral values of agricultural enterprises and the society through enhanced environmental awareness and application practices.

The article discusses the prospects for the development of the internal audit service at the enterprise. The need for internal audit is due to the increasing scale of enterprises and the inability of the accounting system to provide the information, which is necessary for timely management decisions. If the company wants to know about the state of affairs, identifies the strengths and weaknesses of its activities and prevent possible risks, it appeals to internal audit. Despite the level of professionalism of management, imperfection and variability of the national tax system makes the issue of control over the activities of the enterprise relevant. Most inspections and audits carried out by external control entities only confirm the fact of violation. What cannot be said about the internal audit service, which helps to prevent negative phenomena, works ahead and eliminates the possible cause of the offense. Given the volume of offenses and abuses identified by supervisory authorities, the introduction of an internal audit becomes a necessity. After all, fraud not only causes financial damage to the company, but also negatively affects their reputation and relationships with business partners, which in the future will lead to even greater losses. Having an internal audit service is a signal to potential investors and lenders of good corporate management and generally makes good impression of the company. In addition, the existence of such a service allows the company to enter international capital markets, operate well, preserve assets and survive the crisis. You can organize an internal audit by creating a separate division of the enterprise, outsourcing or co-sourcing. The advantages and disadvantages of each of the methods are discussed in more detail in the article. At the current stage, we see an ambiguous attitude to internal audit among businesses. This is due to managers' lack of understanding of its capabilities and the need to do business. However, internal audit can be an effective source of information for managers at all levels and will give business owners an assessment of the real state of affairs to make effective and appropriate management decisions.

Introduction. Under such conditions, the problem of assessing the economic security of enterprises is actualized, which is designed to identify threats that arise in the competitive environment and the internal environment of the enterprise, to identify strengths and weaknesses in the activities of the enterprise, on the basis of which management decisions are made at the strategic level, to prevent negative situations at the operational levels of enterprise management. Aim and tasks. The purpose of the study is to assessing the economic security of forest enterprises in the Ukrainian Polissya region. Objectives of the study: generalization of scientific approaches to assessing the economic security of enterprises; determination of criteria for assessing the economic security of forestry; development and testing of methods for assessing the economic security of forestry in the Ukrainian Polissya region. Results. The calculations show a high and sufficient level of economic security in the studied forestry enterprises. However, there is a decrease in financial security indicators, which requires the adoption of current and strategic management decisions to improve financial results and improve the financial condition of forestry enterprises. The main problem is the inefficient structure of exports, namely the predominance of products with low benefit and insufficient investment in the development of technical and technological base. The proposed system of criteria and indicators can be significantly expanded depending on the ability of researchers to obtain additional information about the economic activities of forestry enterprises. Conclusions. A proposed method of assessing the level of economic security of forestry enterprises, which provides for determining the compliance of the current state of the business entity development goals (desired state), provides for the use of traditional indicators covering the main areas of economic activity of forestry enterprises. It is only important that the sample of forest enterprises is formed on the basis of belonging to the common forest area, similarity of forest area and forest area of these enterprises, as well as other factors that researchers may consider essential for the choice.
