This study aims to describe interactive e-book effectiveness of improving students's scientific literacy skills during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research type is quantitative descriptive with one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 23 students of class VIII SMP Piri 1 Yogyakarta. The results showed that after using IPA Interactive e-book, scientific literacy skills could increase significantly. The increase in students' scientific literacy skills in competency dimensions increased by 40% and it has increased by 30% in the knowledge dimension. It can be concluded that interactive science e-book is effective for improving students' scientific literacy skills. Keywords: interactive e-book, scientific literacy, covid-19

This study aims to describe the achievement of students’ scientific literacy competencies in Integrated Science subjects. Research subjects were class VIII students at MTsN Mataram in the 2019/2020 academic year. The research method was used descriptive with a qualitative approach. Research sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data collection technique used a written test on the aspects of scientific literacy competence according to PISA 2018. Data analysis were used descriptive, Bivariate Correlation test, and Anova test used software application related. The results showed that the students’ scientific literacy skills in the Integrated Science including very low category (40.5%) with the highest to the lowest achievements in each category a) interpreting data and proving data (15, 4%), b) test and design scientific investigations (13.6%), and c) explain phenomena (11.6%). So, we need more effort to improve and increase students’ scientific literacy skills by integrating aspects of scientific literacy competencies during implementing science learning in schools.

AbstrakKemampuan literasi statistis siswa sekolah menengah pertama masih rendah. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut dengan melakukan inovasi terhadap model pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Berkaitan dengan peningkatan kemampuan literasi statistis tersebut diterapkan model pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dimodifikasi. Metode dalam penelitian ini metode kuasi-eksperimen dengan instrumen penelitian soal tes berupa indikator kemampuan literasi statistis. Subjek penelitian siswa kelas VIII pada Madrasah Tsanawiyah berjumlah 36 orang siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi statistis yang signifikan antara siswa yang mendapat model pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dimodifikasi dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori. Model pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang dimodifikasi dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi statistis. Enhancing Statistical Literacy Abilities through Modified Project-Based LearningAbstractThe statistical literacy ability of junior high school students is still low. One way to improve this ability is by innovating the applied learning model. Regarding the increase in statistical literacy skills, a modified project-based learning model is applied. The method in this study is a quasi-experimental method with a research instrument about test questions in the form of indicators of statistical literacy. The research subjects of class VIII students at the Tsanawiyah Madrasah were 36 students. The results of the study are that there are significant differences in statistical literacy skills between students who receive a project-based learning model modified by the expository learning model. The modified project-based learning model can be used as an alternative learning model for improving statistical literacy skills.

<p>This study aims to analyze the specifications of energy modules in life systems integrating religious values on students’ scientific literacy. The research method uses a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest and posttest, with 50 seventh grade students in Islamic-based schools as research subjects. The data obtained were then analyzed using quantitative descriptive. The results of this study indicate that the application of energy modules in living systems integrating religious values is effective on the scientific literacy of students based on the average n-gain score of 0.44 which falls into the medium category. The scientific literacy competence of students in this study sequentially from the highest is to explain scientific phenomena with a percentage of 68.62%, then interpret data and scientific evidence with a percentage of 53.64%, and evaluate and design scientific investigations with a percentage of 41.67 %. Learning by using this module can improve students’ learning outcomes by making learning situations more active so that it is easier to understand the concept of energy in living systems. The research concludes that the application of energy modules in life systems integrating religious values is effective on students’ scientific literacy.  </p>

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kelayakan LKPD berorientasi inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains pada materi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi laju reaksi. Metode penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan perangkat yang disarankan oleh Thiagarajan yaitu model 4-D yang dibatasi hanya sampai tahap develop. Ukuran kelayakan ditinjau berdasarkan 3 aspek, yaitu: validitas, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Validitas ditinjau berdasarkan kriteria isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, dan kegrafikan. Kepraktisan diperoleh melalui respon dan aktivitas peserta didik selama pembelajaran menggunakan LKPD yang dikembangkan. Sedangkan keefektifan ditinjau melalui tes kemampuan literasi sains yang diujikan secara terbatas kepada peserta didik SMAN 1 Kebomas Gresik sebanyak 12 orang dengan pembelajaran menggunakan model inkuiri terbimbing. Analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan persentase validitas LKPD masing-masing kriteria mendapat skor diantara 80%-89,63% dan dinyatakan valid. LKPD yang dikembangkan mendapatkan respon yang positif dengan persentase sebesar 97,5% dan dinyatakan sangat praktis serta didukung aktivitas peserta didik yang sangat baik dengan persentase sebesar 98,62%. Hasil peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains tergambar dalam skor N-Gain yang diperoleh pada rentang 0,45– 1,00 dengan kategori sedang-tinggi, untuk N-Gain 3 domain yang terikat satu sama lain (konteks, pengetahuan, dan kompetensi) mendapat skor 0,77 dengan kategori tinggi, sedangkan domain sikap mendapat skor N-Gain sebesar 0,33 dengan kategori sedang, didukung dengan ketuntasan klasikal pada tes akhir memperoleh persentase sebesar 100%, sehingga LKPD dinyatakan efekif. Abstract This study intends to describe the feasibility of student worksheet with guided inquiry-oriented to improve the ability of scientific literacy on factors that influence the reaction rate matter. The development research method uses the device development model suggested by Thiagarajan which is a 4- D model that is limited to the develop stage. Feasibility measure were reviewed based on 3 aspect, namely: validity, praticality, and effectiveness. Validity is reviewed based on content, presentation, linguistic, and graphic criteria. Praticallity is obtained trough the respones and activitiesof student during learning using the developed student worksheet. While effectiveness is reviewed trough test of scientific literacy skills that were tetsted limited to 12 students of Senior High School 1 Kebomas Gresik by using the guided inquiry model. Analysis of the data uses quantitative descriptive methods. The results show the percentage of student worksheet validity of each criterion scores between 80% -89.63% and declared valid. The developed student worksheet received a positive response with a percentage of 97.5% and was declared very practical and supported by very good student activity with a percentage of 98.62%. The results of increasing scientific literacy ability are illustrated in the N-Gain score obtained in the range of 0.45–1.00 in the medium-high category, for N-gain 3 domains that are bound to each other (context, knowledge, and competence) get a score of .,77 with a high category, while the attitude domain received an N-gain score of 0.33 in the medium category, supported by classical completeness in the final test, getting a percentage of 100%, so that the student worksheet was declared effective. This research is motivated by efforts to improve scientific literacy skills and build the skills of 21st century students by developing the concept of Android-based science learning devices. Learning device are developed so that students can learn independently, quickly, practically, not limited by time and space, and students are ready to compete in the global world. This study aims to describe the feasibility of developing Android-based science learning tools for college students. This device was developed with a 4-D model by Thiagarajan. The tools developed are: RPP, e-book, LKM and evaluation tools. The research subjects were college UNIROW students who took the Science Concept 2018/2019 course. Collecting data using questionnaires and observations, then analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques. From the results of the validation and test results, it can be concluded that the learning tools developed are categorized as good, valid and suitable for use in learning.

This study aims to determine the correlation between reading habits and the ability of science literacy in students of SMP Negeri 2 Bua Ponrang. The research method used is quantitative descriptive, to determine the correlation used product moment correlation. The results show that the r count value is smaller than r table, so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between reading habits and scientific literacy skills.

This study aims to reveal the feasibility, quality, and characteristics of scientific literacy assessment instruments with electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions, to measure students' scientific literacy skills in electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. This study uses the development model of Oriondo and Dallo-Antonio which consists of five stages, namely planning for making assessment instruments, testing instruments, determining empirical validity, determining reliability, and interpreting scores. The initial product of the assessment instrument was validated by two experts, and one chemistry teacher. This research was conducted in three state vocational schools in Lubuklinggau City with a total of 30 students as research subjects. Data collection through developed assessment instruments. The test results of the assessment instrument were analyzed using Rasch's Item Response Theory model with the help of the Winstep 3.73 program. The chemical literacy ability assessment instrument consisting of 25 essay questions was declared feasible and valid with a minimum value of 0.75 and 0.79 on the Aiken index. The results of empirical validation show that 20 items are valid in the analysis of the results of the first trial and there are 17 items as the final product. The final product of the instrument consists of three categories of difficulty, including three items in the difficult category, 12 items in the medium category, and two items in the easy category. The assessment instrument has a high reliability score, namely the Cronbach alpha value of 0.86 in the first trial; 0.92 trial II; and 0.89 in trial III. The profile of students' scientific literacy ability is generally good, in terms of context,

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the blended learning rotation model to improve the scientific literacy skill of prospective teacher students. The design of this study used the Posttest-only design with nonequivalent groups. The research subjects were 76 students majoring in biology education at Universitas Mataram. The research was done to two experimental groups, namely the blended learning station rotation model (BLSRM) and regular learning (RL). The research instrument used a multiple-choice test which refers to the aspects of scientific literacy competence according to PISA. The data analysis technique was carried out descriptively, complete with the Hotelling's T2 test to test the effect of BLSRM on students' scientific literacy skills. The results showed that students' scientific literacy skills were in the very low category (mean BLSRM = 38.50, RL = 34.22) and there was no effect of BLSRM on students' scientific literacy skills (Hotteling Trace = .098 and Sig. = .080). To improve students' scientific literacy skills, BLSRM needs to be combined with other models such as problem-solving model, so it can be an effective strategy in science learning

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describe the environmental field vocabulary mastery of grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18. Second, it describes the writing skills text beritasiswa class VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18. Third, vocabulary mastery correlation describes the environmental field with the text of the news writing skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18. The theory associated with this research is a theory about the writing skills (a), (b) the text of the news, and (c) mastery of the vocabulary of the field of the environment.  This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used is a korelasional design. Population research is grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang 18 listed on the school year 2018/2019, namely 362 students. The research sample is determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 72 students. Research data in the form of score vocabulary mastery test results of the environmental field and score the writing skills test result text news. The data obtained through two types of tests i.e. objective tests to measure mastery of the vocabulary of the field of environmental and performance tests for measuring writing skills text news. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that vocabulary knowledge is correlated with writing skills text news. The better knowledge of vocabulary will be the better text news writing skills anyway. Thus, for the skilled writing text news grade VIII SMP Negeri Padang, 18 required mastery of the vocabulary. Kata kunci: Korelasi, Kosakata, Menulis, Teks Berita

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PBL with thinking map on the mastery of the concept and students' scientific literacy in digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and respiratory system in human. This quantitative study involved 94 students consisting of 3 classes, namely 31 students of class VIII C, 31 students of class VIII E and 32 students of class VIII A SMP Negeri 5 Jombang academic year 2018/2019. The results showed PBL assisted thinking map effective on mastering the concept of content dimensions and against scientific literacy in digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system. The results of statistical tests showed that there were differences in the mastery of concepts and scientific literacy skills before and after using PBL assisted by thinking map on digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system. The conclusion of this study is that problem-based learning assisted by thinking map has an effect on both mastery of science concepts and science literacy so that students are effectively used in junior high school on digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keefektifan PBM berbantuan <em>thinking map</em> terhadap penguasaan konsep IPA dan literasi sains siswa SMP pada materi sistem pencernaan, zat aditif dan adiktif, dan sistem pernapasan pada manusia. Penelitian kuantitatif ini melibatkan 94 peserta didik terdiri atas tiga kelas, yaitu 31 peserta didik kelas VIII C, 31 peserta didik kelas VIII E dan 32 peserta didik kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 5 Jombang tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan PBM berbantuan <em>thinking map</em> efektif terhadap penguasaan konsep dan literasi sains pada materi sistem pencernaan, zat aditif dan adiktif, dan sistem pernapasan. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan literasi sains sebelum dan setelah menggunakan PBM berbantuan <em>thinking map</em><em>. </em>Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran berbasis masalah berbantuan <em>thinking map</em> berpengaruh baik pada penguasaan konsep IPA dan literasi sains siswa sehingga efektif digunakan di SMP pada materi sistem pencernaan, zat aditif dan adiktif, dan sistem pernapasan.
