Pakistan is paying special attention to its educational system and training of the teachers to improve the quality of teaching as a profession. One of the most highlighted elements in this educational development is the quality teaching practices in terms of National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST).Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques were applied to analyze the comparison between teachers and head-teachers' perceptions of NPST. Through simple random sampling technique 30 head-teachers (15 males and 15 females) and 300 teachers (150 males and 150 females) were selected. Two questionnaires were developed to assess the teachers and head-teachers' perceptions about NPSTs. The results revealed that comparatively female teachers who were more qualified and experienced were recently hired teachers who knew about National Professional Standards, were more enthusiastic about how to practice these standards in comparison to the teachers who had joined this profession in the late 80's and 90's.

The general purpose of the research is to investigate the school head teachers’ awareness level about rules related to Punjab Education Code. The nature of the study is descriptive and a cross-sectional survey design has used for this study. The sample consists of 100 head teachers of secondary schools in the district of Sheikhupura. The sample was selected using a stratified random sampling technique. To measure the awareness level about the Punjab Education Code a questionnaire is used to collect the mandatory information. The questionnaire is comprised of the items related to head teachers’ awareness level of rules given in the Punjab education code. The data produced by the instrument is tabulated and analyzed through the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS). According to the research questions, descriptive statistical techniques are applied. The results of this study are showed that most of the head teachers are not having complete awareness of the rules given in the Punjab Education Code.

AV aids are very important in the learning process. It prepares students for useful learning. There is no doubt that learning materials have great importance in education. Due to this the researcher conducts a study regarding "impact of AV AIDS on the academic achievement of students". A descriptive nature study was conducted. All the 10th class students of Gov secondary schools were the study population. As a sample 500 respondents were selected from 12 Govt. secondary schools, by applying a simple random sampling technique. The researcher delimited the study only to 10th grade of the 12 females and males' schools. To collect the data, a self-made tool was used. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS. John Curry formula was applied. Frequency, percentage, and linear regression were used for analysis. It was revealed that students' academic achievement has a positive relation with AV aids.

Supervision is one of the important factors for school improvement and ensuring quality education. It makes the teaching-learning environment effective and helps us to achieve the educational objectives. The current research study was designed to explore analyze the practices of supervision at elementary schools’ level in Punjab. The population of the study was 166 elementary schools and 64 supervisors. The sample respondents of the study were 50 head teachers and 16 supervisors of elementary schools’ public sector in the District. The researcher adopted a convenience sampling technique for the collection of data. The tool for the collection of data were two self-developed questionnaires on a five-point rating scale, one for head teachers and the second one for supervisors having forty-two (42) statements with eleven aspects regarding (1) objectives, (2) cooperation, (3) cleanliness, (4) quality of education, (5) motivation, (6) facilities, (7) attendance, (8) budget, (9) feedback, (10) problems and (11) universal primary education. The validity of the research instrument was properly ensured through experts’ opinions and pilot testing. The reliability of the instruments was ensured by applying the Cronbach Alpha. The value of the reliability for supervisors was found 0.939 and the reliability value for the head teachers was measured at 0.932. The data collected from respondents were subsequently organized properly. The collected data was accurately analyzed, tabulated, presented and interpreted. Descriptive statistics were applied and data was presented in the mean score, frequency and standard deviation and interpreted accordingly. The data was presented in the form of tables. It was concluded that the supervisors are discharging their professional responsibilities with the spirit to promote quality education, promote a healthy and child-friendly environment in schools and head teacher are keen on conveying the instructions from the supervisors to the teachers.

The prime goal of the study is to explore the 'Teachers Thinking Styles and Teacher Effectiveness: a comparative analysis at secondary school Level'. The study also determines comparison in views of male/female and urban/rural teacher about their thinking styles and teacher effectiveness. The study is descriptive. Two valid and reliable research tools were used, which were structured by the researcher himself. All male/female teachers in the secondary school of southern districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa constituted the population of the study. Stratified random sampling technique was adopted following Krejcie, and Morgan rule and 380 teachers were consulted for the collection of data. For analysis, Mean, SD, t-test and correlation were applied as suitable statistics. Findings of the study show a significant correlation between thinking styles and teacher effectiveness. The study also indicated an insignificant comparison in the views of male/female and urban/rural teachers about their thinking styles and teacher effectiveness.

The aim of this study was to discover the influence of head teachers’ managerial skills  (Effective Communication, Motivation, Study Habit, interest, Human skills, Conceptual  skills, Time Management skills, Leadership skills, Supervision) on students’ Academic  Performance at secondary school level. In this study, quantitative research design was  applied by the researcher. Moreover, purposive sampling technique was used by  distributing the questionnaires among sample of 239 students and 206 teachers of  Government secondary school in Multan District. While analyzing the data Z-test, Pearson  Correlation, and Multiple Linear Regressions were applied in order to explore the  influences of head teacher’s managerial skills upon the students’ academic performance.  The findings of the study indicated that all the factors were highly correlated with each   other and with students’ academic performance. Multiple Regression Model showed that all  the independent variables have positive influence on the dependent variables and all these  factors were statistically significant with respect to the students’ Academic Performance.

The title of the existing topic is “Impact of stress on student’s academic performance at secondary school level”. The important motives of this study are to explore the stress impact on the students’ academic performance. Stress has a key role in student’s academic performance. This study was to focus on the negative impact on the student’s academic performance. The purposes of the study were to investigate; firstly, the type of stress linked with student’s performance; secondly, to evaluate the impact of stress on the academic performances of students; and thirdly, differentiate the impacts of stress on the academic performances of both gender students. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives of the study, the researcher can suggest a reasonable solution for the impact of stress on student’s academic performance. The data collected for this topic, has been gathered from all the secondary schools in District Vehari.  In this study the researcher was taken a sample of (n=10) secondary schools from each Tehsil of District Vehari. The researcher was further divided (n=10) secondary schools into two groups (n=5) males and (n=5) female secondary schools. The researcher was taken (n=15) students from each secondary school selected as sample. The researcher was used simple random sampling technique for data collection. Five points Likert-scale used in this research. 99% respondents are responding about the factor of stress impact on their academic performance. After collecting data, it was analyzed by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20. The tool (questionnaire) used for the collection data was 0.850 Cronbach alpha. In this study, different tests were applied as to factor analysis and regression. Generally, the major findings of study divulged that there are significant impacts of stress on student’s academic performance. This study concluded that major factors of stress among the students are teacher and parents.

Financial management is preparing, directing and managing the monetary activities of an institution and it has become necessary for the educational managers to have good financial management skills. The objectives of the study were; 1) To explore the heads financial managerial skills at secondary school level 2) To find out the effect of heads financial managerial skills in accelerating secondary school performance. The study was descriptive in nature. All the heads of secondary schools comprised the population in district Sahiwal. Researchers selected 110 headteachers from secondary schools through a simple random sampling technique. A questionnaire was used as a research tool for the study and researchers visited the respondents personally and the target of 100% data collection successfully achieved. The study concluded that due to heads teachers financial management skills the overall performance of school has been improved including students attendance, teachers attendance, results of different classes and drop out of the students.

The research study is narrative and it aims to see perceptions of school heads about the role of community in improving the quality of education at secondary school level in the southern seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The region is in a developing stage and badly affected by war and terror after 9/11. The total population of the study is 544 and 105 respondents were selected through a random sampling technique by taking 15 school heads from each district. Twelve open-ended questions were selected in light of the views of experts and were asked from the majority of respondents via face to face and some were interviewed through their cell phones. The responses were presented in narrative summary form and the study concluded that the community is supporting school authority for streamlining quality education but its role is less than the desired expectation. The school authority should adopt a flexible policy for the motivation of the community and ensuring their maximum participation in the school matters.

This research aimed to determine IVATs’ perceptions of the effectiveness of their pre-service visual arts program in equipping them with the professional skills needed in VA teaching. Prompted by the persistent complaints about the teachers’ lack of competencies that they should have acquired during their pre-service art teacher preparation, it specifically examined the VAC focusing on content, teaching methods, resources and assessment in VA and their relationship to the content gap IVATs are observing in VA teaching at the secondary school level. A qualitative approach was used to solicit participants’ views about the effectiveness of their pre-service teacher education. The research was supported by the constructivist and interpretive philosophies which offer IVATs as well as tutors with the opportunity to construct their knowledge through social interaction, communication, and inquiry learning. The research was carried out at Makerere University-School of Education, which was conveniently selected because all the IVATs who participated in this research were students in this University. The researchers used a probabilistic sampling technique which uses a simple random sampling. A lottery method was used to select the desired number of 30 out of the 42 IVATs in total. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data from 5 focus groups of second and third year IVATs. Findings revealed that there was inadequate content coverage, less use of active teaching methods, and concentration on summative assessment. The researchers recommended that the M.o.E.S together with NTCs restructure the VAC to allow adequate content coverage, use of active teaching methods and use of formative assessment for they equip the learners with knowledge and skills required in VA teaching. The study aimed to look for the participation and comparison of gender-based teachers involvement in the development of various personality traits of students at secondary school level. To answer the research questions, a sequential explanatory mixed method design was adopted. The Southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were taken as a source of data. The researcher selected 361 secondary school teachers as a sample through simple random sampling technique. For collection of data Big Five Factors Personality Inventory developed by Buchanan(2001) were adapted. Results of the study revealed that mostly teachers are strongly agree that they have their role in extroversion personality trait development. Significance difference found between male and female teachers involvement as “Extroversion” and “Conscientiousness” while no significance difference found between male and female teachers involvement as “Agreeableness”, “Neuroticism” and “Openness to Experiences”.
