The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is also home to other religious minorities. Since Independence, these minorities have played a significant role in serving the nation through different professions, and teaching is one of them. Yet, there is a growing concern regarding how well and respectfully they are accommodated in a Muslim majority society. This phenomenological research study explores the perspectives of Christian teachers concerning their difficulties in dealing with students and parents of different religions and their support needs. Ten teachers were purposively selected for semi-structured interviews. Content analysis revealed that although most teachers were satisfied with working conditions and the behaviors of students and parents with them, few of them highlighted the issues of forced conversion to Islam and usage of derogatory language. Teachers also suggested that there is a need to change the mindset of the people through education, and the government should provide more opportunities to minorities.

Damage caused by weather events has increased dramatically across the world in recent years. In the case of Japan, record-breaking rainfall has caused devastating damage almost every year since 2014; many people have been killed in these disasters. To better prepare for future heavy rainfalls, we need to discover how to prepare for disasters and mitigate damage by learning from examples in resilient communities. In 2017, torrential rains hit Toho Village in northern Kyushu, and the people as a whole responded well to avoid disastrous outcomes. We studied the actions and motivations of residents of Toho during this rainfall event by conducting semi-structured interviews in November 2017. The interviewees indicated that their motivation for evacuating was “personal observation of the danger” or “communication with neighbors”. Communication within the community was found to be an important factor that enabled the safe evacuation of community members, even without notice of the disaster risk and/or in the absence of timely information from the government because of a power outage. Knowledge of local landforms would be also helpful to reinforce appropriate actions and precautions needed during a disaster.

Indonesia is a democracy. Therefore the government must encourage and guarantee freedom of speech, religion, opinion, an association for every citizen. The government must enforce the rule of law which the majority must respect the rights of minority groups and their citizens give each other equal opportunities to live together to get a decent life. The Republic of Indonesia is a unitary state with a high degree of plurality in the fields of religion, ethnicity, race, and class. To support religious life, the national and state community in a peaceful, healthy, prosperous and happy manner, civil religion is needed. This research is a phenomenological study focusing on analyzing the description and explanation of civil religion in Indonesia. A phenomenological approach is used in interpreting the "meaning" of data. With this method, it is expected to obtain interpretations about civil religion in Indonesia. The results of this study concluded that Pancasila could become a "civil religion in Indonesia", at least it had developed along with the will of the people who led, and placed Pancasila as a transcendental backing (civil religion). Pancasila with its five principles is a real picture of civil religion.

Al-Qur'an further regulates the provisions of polygamy which were previously rooted before Islamic society. If previously polygamy could be carried out regardless of the number of wives then with the decline of al-Nisa verse 3, the maximum number of wives in polygamy is four people. The law of polygamy in Islam was originally permissible with the ability to justice, but seeing aspects of goodness and badness, this permissibility becomes an emergency door for conditions to deviate from normal, so that if the government takes part in regulating it then it is as its capacity to regulate the people based on benefit. Whereas the polyandry since the revelation of Surat al-Nisa verse 24, has been a prohibition that must be avoided. If you want to examine further, there are various aspects of benefit in this prohibition.

This research study is about the way pre-service English language teachers’ levels of reflectivity, proposed by Van Manen, give an account of the construction of their identity as language teachers during their pedagogical practicum in a BA program of English Language Teaching at a private university in Bogota, Colombia. This study follows the principles of narrative research to explore the way the participants live their pedagogical practicum experience. Data were collected from the participants’ reflective journals and audio-recorded semi-structured interviews. Findings reveal that pre-service English language teachers possess a level of reflectivity, although they are unaware of it at the beginning of their pedagogical practicum. Thus, their identities as language teachers are constructed depending on the context, the people that are around them, and the specific time; hence, the levels of reflectivity as proposed by Van Manen are set in an incognito manner.

This paper discusses the perceptions that six English language teachers, from public schools in the south region of the state of Veracruz in Mexico, have about their particular teaching contexts. A qualitative approach was adopted, and main data collection was through semi-structured interviews. The results show that all teachers have mostly negative perceptions about their teaching conditions. It was concluded that urgent action is needed on the part of the government to improve the English as a foreign language scenario, especially now when the introduction of English as a foreign language has been proposed at even earlier ages in all levels of education in the country.

Abstract Fishing cooperatives are located in areas characterized by basing its economy on natural resource use. This representation suggests the need to implement practices that contribute to economic, social and ecological region. This paper presents preliminary results of research aimed at identifying the impact of fishing cooperatives in sustainable development of the region. The collection of data was conducted through observation and semi-structured interviews. The findings suggest that in Sinaloa there are fishing cooperatives facing problems resulting from overfishing, overcapacity of fishing fleets, increased fishing population and poaching, the unclear definition of fisheries property rights and fisheries management, among others. Even though, the government provides support to solve them but they are insufficient. From the above it is concluded that the situation of the fishing cooperatives and the communities where they operate, has become a social problem that cannot be solved without the participation and involvement of stakeholders and is required to form a common front to improve economic, social and environmental development by joining efforts with the government and the people of a community

M-government has gained increasing global attention in recent years, especially among developed countries, as a mechanism to reduce costs, increase effectiveness and improve public access to governmental services. The concept is increasingly being adopted in developing countries, however it faces different challenges and opportunities. This study explores the opportunities and challenges for the deployment of mobile government (M-government) services in Saudi Arabia. Collecting data from 77 semi-structured interviews, this study found that there are many opportunities for M-government in the country, requiring increasing awareness amongst the people about the government initiatives of mobile government services and promoting willingness to use these services. This study also highlights different barriers faced by M-government in Saudi Arabia, including issues of internet quality and speed, customization of services and data security and privacy as well as infrastructural challenges and bureaucratic attitude of government departments.
