ABSTRACTSince September 2021 limited face-to-face learning (PTM) has been implemented. This limited PTM has many options in its implementation, for example by combining online and PTM methods. The shift to online learning is based on many assumptions, such as all members of society having access to multiple tools. However, the reality is that there are still many people who do not have stable internet access. To overcome this problem, the mathematics teacher at SMA Negeri 1 Kuta Utara emphasized to students that learning mathematics is not only to pursue the achievement of the material in the textbook, but emphasizes to students how to think critically and solve problems. This service provides an opportunity for teachers to have experience in compiling a project assignment using the concept of coding. The implementation of this service consists of three stages, namely the planning, implementation, and reflection stages. The results obtained are that this service helps teachers find new alternatives in compiling project assignments that still prioritize learning objectives. In addition, students also do not have difficulty in doing the assignments given by the teacher. Keywords: coding; project assignment; mathematics.

Online learning is used by all levels of education without exception, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. But the effectiveness of online learning is still unknown, because teachers are more focused on teaching than conducting studies on online learning. So this study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at Yapis Manokwari High School. The method in this research uses descriptive quantitative method, in which quantitative data is in the form of a percentage of the results of the questionnaire, and descriptive data is in the form of a description of the percentage of the results of the questionnaire. In addition, data collection techniques also use interview techniques to strengthen students' questionnaire answers. The interview was conducted with a class XI teacher at SMA Yapis Manokwari. The sample used was 30 students. The results showed that students understood the use of online platforms in online learning, but online learning was not effective due to several factors, including: (1) signal, (2) time constraints, (3) noise from students due to forgetting to turn off the microphone. In addition, the results of interviews with teachers also show that online learning is not effective because it does not meet teacher expectations or does not achieve learning objectives compared to face-to-face learning. COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted teaching in a vriety of institutions. It has tested the readiness of academic institutions to deal with such abrupt crisis. Online learning has become the main method of instruction during the pandemic in Jordan. After 4 months of online education, two online surveys were distributed to investigate faculty’s and Students’ perception of the learning process that took place over that period of time with no face to face education. In this regard, the study aimed to identify both faculty’s and students’ perceptions of online learning, utilizing two surveys one distributed to 50 faculty members and another 280 students were selected randomly to explore the effectiveness, challenges, and advantages of online education in Jordan. The analysis showed that the common online platforms in Jordan were Zoom, Microsoft Teams offering online interactive classes, and WhatsApp in communication with students outside the class. The study found that both faculty and students agreed that online education is useful during the current pandemic. At the same time, its efficacy is less effective than face-to-face learning and teaching. Faculty and students indicated that online learning challenges lie in adapting to online education, especially for deaf and hard of hearing students, lack of interaction and motivation, technical and Internet issues, data privacy, and security. They also agreed on the advantages of online learning. The benefits were mainly self-learning, low costs, convenience, and flexibility. Even though online learning works as a temporary alternative due to COVID-19, it could not substitute face-to-face learning. The study recommends that blended learning would help in providing a rigorous learning environment.
