ABSTRACT Socratic questioning involves asking questions to deconstruct static concepts and reconstruct fresh ones. The W-Question format (what-where-which-whom-when-how and why sequence) of asking queries is used for each statement made by respondents. This study investigates the effects of Socratic questioning in enabling self-analysis and critical thinking for understanding problem behaviours in their children by parents or caregivers. Both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods of case-vignettes are used to demonstrate through clinical interviews, and the application of Socratic questioning to analyse commonly reported themes on problem behaviours in children. A thematic analysis of the interview transcripts was carried out on six categories, that is, questions on clarification, or probing assumptions, reasons and evidence, viewpoints and perspectives, and questions about questions. The results show how the questioning helps participants to know themselves, facilitate self-discovery, and self-healing. Although not as a stand-alone technique, Socratic questioning is a useful adjunct to clinical or applied behaviour analysis in the identification and behaviour management of children.

Abstract. This research reported study about analysis minimal exchange structures and general exchange structure in English classroom interaction found in you tube, (from mujikuy channel : asking and giving information about berbasis ganre in x class). This study direct to analysis the element of minimal exchange structures and general exchanges structures in English classroom interaction find in you tube. The data is the clauses obtained from conversation among teacher and students of X grade during English classroom learning process that find in you tube from (Mujikuy channel : asking and giving information about berbasis ganre in x class). This study uses theory of Halliday (1994) by qualitative descriptive method. The result shows that there are three (3) types of act as the element of exchange structures: Initiating, Responding, and Following-Up (I-R-F). Minimal exchange structure consists of: Initiating-Responding (I-R) or Initiating-Responding-Following Up (I-R-F). General structure of exchange in classroom situation consists of: greeting, giving order, giving information, asking question, and closing. In the learning process, things do not always go well. When the learning process students sometimes do not respond to conversations or instructions given by the teacher. Therefore teachers must take initiatives such as providing information, asking questions, and giving instructions. So that the learning process becomes more efficient. This study shows that the teacher has the authority to regulate learning activities

One of the goals of teaching mathematics in elementary schools is students are able to understand mathematical concepts, explain the interrelationships of the concepts and apply algorithmic concepts in a flexible, accurate, efficient and precisely in solving their daily problems. The elementary schools nowadays show that there are still found many students who have difficulty in solving problems related to the subject matter, especially on arithmetic operations of integers. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Students in first grade are given a worksheet to solve individually by writing out the work steps clearly. Six students were chosen as research subjects to be analyzed. The sixth research subject consists of 2 subjects who have high mathematical abilities, 2 medium, and 2 low mathematical abilities. The difficulty of the subject was observed by examining the worksheet's answer and giving clinical interviews related to the results of his work. Based on the results of data analysis, the difficulty of learning mathematics of elementary school students in integer operations is: 1) students have difficulty understanding the purpose of the question so that it incorrectly translated into mathematical sentences; 2) students have difficulty operating numbers that contain negative signs; 3) 95% of students have difficulty understanding the meaning of equal sign (=); 4) students have difficulty carrying out the division operations.

The research background is that it can develop biological assessment based on science process skills because science process skills are important for logical thinking to train students' thinking skills. From the results of the initial needs analysis of class X questions, science process skills are still low, the teacher has not fully developed the science process skills-based assessment because it still uses questions from biology books. This study aims to determine the characteristics and feasibility of assessment based on science process skills developed in biology class X semester 2. This research is development research. Development is carried out using a procedural model by adapting Mcintire's research and development model, with 4 stages of test development including defining competencies, test participants and test objectives, developing test plans, compiling test items, writing administrative instructions. This research stage is limited because it only wants to know the characteristics and feasibility of the assessment. The research instrument used an interview sheet, a questionnaire sheet, and an observation sheet. Expert validation was carried out by 6 expert validators: (1) material experts; (2) linguists; and (3) evaluation experts; The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive that refers to the formula adapted by Sugiyono (2018) with a scale of 4. The results of this study are in the form of a biological assessment based on science process skills in the form of multiple-choice questions in which there is biology material for class X semester 2. Biological assessment characteristics are based on science process skills, namely using indicators consisting of observing, grouping, interpreting, predicting, asking questions, hypothesizing, planning experiments, applying concepts, and communicating. The feasibility of a biological assessment based on science process skills based on expert validators, the results are valid to very valid so that the biological assessment based on science process skills developed is feasible to be used to measure the science process skills of class X students.

The entire world of folk tales is an interrogation, a regeneration of reality. The cosmos becomes, through these tales, an inverted image, an upside-down perspective on our existence. Everything that surrounds us can be and will be brought into question. Our attempt is to emphasize the role of folk tales in asking questions, in leading to the knowledge of the world, of the Others, and of the Self. To see how that is achieved for the heroes of folk tales, we will discuss The Twelve Daughters of the Emperor and the Enchanted Palace, from Petre Ispirescu’s collection.

BackgroundThe most recent computing technologies can promote the application of evidence-based practice (EBP) in the field of applied behaviour analysis (ABA).ObjectiveThe study describes how the use of technology can simplify the application of EBPs in ABA.MethodsThe Web Health Application for ADHD Monitoring (WHAAM) application demonstrates this in the following two case studies. We are monitoring dysfunctional behaviours, collecting behavioural data, performing systematic direct observations, creating both visual baseline and intervention charts and evaluating the planned interventions using the TAU-U statistical index.ResultsSignificant positive changes of children’s problem behaviours are observed and recorded. Both the duration of the previously identified behaviour ‘to get out of bed in time’ (r= −0.79, TAU-U = −0.58,p< 0.05) and the frequency of the behaviour ‘interrupting others’ (r= −0.96, TAU-U = −0.82,p< 0.01) decreased.ConclusionsThe WHAAM application is an effective tool to support functional behaviour assessments and it is an example of how technology can support practitioners by facilitating the application of EBPs and increasing the communication among clinical, educational and family environments.

AbstractObjectivesNurses must contribute to the development of professional practice and thereby improve quality of care by using their research abilities. Therefore, learning communities comprised of nurses, students and teachers were created in a hospital.MethodsA qualitative descriptive methodology was used. Three learning communities were purposefully selected, and members were asked open-ended questions about their learning and activities in multiple data collection sessions. Data were analyzed by means of an inductive process.ResultsBoth individually and collectively, members learned about research in general, research terminology and methods. They learned about asking questions and critical thinking, and, specifically through collective learning, they learned about the differences between education practices. Activities were carried out primarily to continue personal learning.ConclusionsLearning within the learning communities was mainly research-oriented and therefore potentially suitable for enhancing research ability. Implications are offered to support the formulation of community activities.
