The relevance of the scientific article is due to the reform of the prosecutor's office. In the process of transforming the prosecutor's office system, it is necessary to introduce in its activity modern practices aimed at improving the effectiveness of the prosecutor's office. In this regard, there is a need for scientific study of the organizational support of the prosecutor's office. The purpose of the scientific article is to define the concept and elements of organizational support for the activities of the prosecutor's office. The basis for studying the organizational support of the prosecutor's office is theoretical studies of the organization of work and management in the prosecutor's office. Based on the analysis of the current legislation of Ukraine, as well as scientific sources, organizational support is considered in broad and narrow meanings. Thus, in a wide meaning, this concept can be defined as a complex of all measures, means and resources that are necessary for the operation of the prosecutor's office. Elements of organizational support for the prosecutor's office in a broad sense are: personnel support, information support, financing, logistics, innovative and technological support. In a narrow sense, organizational support provides a set of techniques and means aimed at streamlining the work of the prosecutor's office, ensuring its controllability as a system and effective exercise by prosecutors. So organizational support includes the administration of the prosecutor's office and ensuring work in the prosecutor's office. It was concluded that it is necessary to improve the normative regulation of organizational support for the prosecutor's office in section X of the Law of Ukraine «On the prosecutor's office». At the same time, a systematic approach is important, involving formation of an integrated mechanism of organizational support for the activities of the prosecutor's office and identification of the subjects responsible for this. Perspective directions for further scientific researches within the defined topic of the study are used to analyze individual elements of the prosecutor's office, as well as the study of the best practices of the organization of the prosecutor's office.

The article considers the problem of reforming national finances at the present stage of economic development, taking into account the features of the functioning of the national economy and fiscal threats. The purpose of this work is to determine the strategy for reforming the fiscal system and substantiate the main directions of its development. The relevance of the study is due to an integrated approach to the formation of fiscal policy, including both its main components: tax, budget, debt policies, and the need to improve the mechanism to ensure their effectiveness. To implement this mechanism, it is necessary to use both innovative methods of planning and forecasting fiscal flows, and to modernize the legal framework that strengthens the foundations of managerial decisions in the field of finance. Based on the goal, a comparative assessment of the forecast and actual scenarios of the development of fiscal relations in the republic was carried out, the most acute points of fiscal policy formation were analyzed: social payments, tax administration, budget financing, debt obligations, information support for the movement of financial flows. Based on the results of the research conducted in the article, conclusions and suggestions are made regarding all areas of improving fiscal policy as the basis for ensuring an effective national financial management strategy. Priority measures have been identified to reduce the negative impact of risks on the stability of the fiscal system. Instruments of regulatory impacts on negative economic and social trends are determined by the choice of areas of strategic management and the mechanism of their organizational support. Scientific novelty lies in the substantiation of a set of elements of fiscal policy as the basis for developing a strategy for managing national finances that takes into account the increase in the social and economic efficiency of using the financial resources of the state.

In the light of the growing number of crimes committed by convicted persons and persons in custody, the aspects of preventive impact on the processes that arise in the penitentiary system are taking a leading place. It is important to understand that employees of institutions and bodies of the penitentiary system make significant efforts to minimize criminal attacks. However, this activity is not always systematic and logically consistent. It seems that the problem lies in the theoretical basis of the fight against penitentiary crime, which has not yet fully developed. The purpose of the scientific article is to provide a theoretical understanding of the Institute for the prevention of penitentiary crimes, to understand the methods and measures of preventive action, and to determine the sources of information support. The author tried to define the boundaries of penitentiary crimes as accurately as possible, to show the difference in methods and measures of crime prevention in the penitentiary system. The article indicates the sources of information support, analyzing which is possible to understand very clearly what methods will be effective in identifying the causes and conditions that contribute to the Commission of penitentiary crimes, and what measures will contribute to the fight against crime of convicts and persons in custody.

At present, the complex nature of the impact on the ecosystem in regions with intensive mining creates a multidimensional information “plume” consisting of data on mineral reserves, the state of mining operations, accumulated, current and future environmental pollution. The transition to the lean use of the subsoil and the reasonable disposal of mining waste requires fundamentally new forms of environmental information accumulation and processing during designing new enterprises and regulating the activities of existing ones. The most promising form of information support for the greening of mining is a geoportal. It is a complex of software and technological support for working with spatial data. Its key task is to provide the users with tools and services for storing and cataloging, publishing and loading spatial and environmental data, searching and filtering by metadata, interactive web visualization, direct access to geodata based on map web services.

This chapter examines the role of technology in home-based telecommuting (HBT), and the implications of this role for organizational IT departments and for managers of telecommuting employees. Specifically, it addresses the question: Does technology both facilitate and hinder home-based telecommuting? Although technology enables HBT, it has also been blamed for HBT’s slow growth. To clarify the role that technology currently plays when employees telecommute, we describe a recent study that investigated the relationship between different forms of organizational support (classified as technology-related, somewhat technology-related and non-technological) and employees’ reactions to HBT. Two technology- related support variables and manager’s trust (a non-technological support) were found to have broad impact on employees’ reactions to HBT; so, while technology plays a crucial role and thus could be a major factor in HBT’s slow growth, we argue that HBT is better understood within a multi-factor rather than a single-factor framework. Other implications are that organizations should emphasize providing IT support and appropriate technology for telecommuters, as well as HBT-related training for non-telecommuting co-workers and managers of the telecommuters.

The Library of Congress has received a $540,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to evaluate the physical health of the national collection of books in American research libraries and to guide their archive retention and preservation decisions. Since there currently is no objective formula to assess the condition of millions of books in the custody of the nation’s libraries, this scientific study will help inform best practices and provide a baseline for libraries to analyze their print collections based on established scientific guidelines. This is the first effort of its kind to lay the scientific groundwork for the development of a national effort to preserve the corpus of books held in American libraries.

Scientific evaluation of prototyping practices is an emerging field in design research. Prototyping is critical to the success of product development efforts, and yet its implementation in practice is often guided by ad hoc experience. To address this need, we seek to advance the study and development of prototyping principles, techniques, and tools. A method to repeatedly enhance the outcome of prototyping efforts is reported in this paper. The research methodology to develop this method is as follows: (1) systematically identify practices that improve prototyping; (2) synthesize these practices to form a guiding method for designers; and (3) validate that the proposed method encourages best practices and improves performance. Prototyping practices are represented as six key heuristics to guide a designer in planning: how many iterations to pursue, how many unique design concepts to explore in parallel, as well as the use of scaled prototypes, isolated subsystem prototypes, relaxed requirements, and virtual prototypes. The method is correlated, through experimental investigation, with increased application of these best practices and improved design performance outcomes. These observations hold across various design problems studied. This method is novel in providing a systematic approach to prototyping.
