Abstract. The purpose is to establish the possibility of using mined brick clay pits for grazing livestock and preparing animal feed. The paper deals with the investigation of the above ground phytomass field layer (Fh) being formed dusing the natural growth of mined brick clay pits. Methodology. Species composition of the projective cover and aboveground phytomass were established on the counting areas of 0.5 × 0.5 sizes evenly spaced on the bottom and slopes of pit. At each of the quarry elements at least 30 registration sites were laid. In addition a similar number of registration sites were laid next to the quarry where clay was not mined. Researches were carried out in the district of pine-birch pre-forest steppe forests of the Trans Urals plain province, the west Siberian plain forest region. Results. It was found that the soil of mined out pits does not contain heavy metal and other chemical elements hazardous to animals. The total aboveground phetomass of Fh at the bottom and slopes of the quarry is 1101.1 and 812.6 kg/ha in absolutely dry, state, respectively. The total projective cover at the bottom of the quarry 3 years after the technical stage of reclamation is 64.7 % and on the slopes 42.5 %. The presence of meadow species in the composition, in particular of legumes family (Vicia cracca L.; V. hybridum L.; V. sativa L.; V. vernus L.; V. sylvatica L.; Trifolium pretense L.; T. lupinaster L.; T. repens L.; T. hybridum L.; T. medium L.; Lathyrus pratensis L.; Melilotu salbus Medikus; M. officinalis L. Pall.; Medicago lupulina L.) indicates a high feed value of FR. Scientific novelty. The transfer of mined out brick clay pits for temporary agricultural use will contribute at the formation of soil on the bottom and slopes of the quarry and ultimately, increase the productivity of future plantations.

The purpose of this paper was a comparative to study population variability of individual and group composition of biologically active phenol compounds in leaves of Lonicera caerulea subsp. pallasii (Ledeb.) Browic. in natural population of south taiga subzone of West-Siberian plain, Altai Mauntains and in conditions of introduction in the forest-steppe of the Novosibirsk Priobye. Chlorogenic acid and its isomers neochlorogenic acid and dicaffeoyl quinic acid, glycozides of luteolin, apigenin and quercetin, apigenin and luteolin in leaf extracts of L. caerulea subsp. pallasii was identified by HPLC-MS. The quantitative variations content of compounds (classes of biologically active polyphenols and their individual components) depending on vegetation conditions have been explored using HPLC. The major components of L. caerulea subsp. pallasii leaves are rutinoside quercetin, chlorogenic acid and dicaffeoyl quinic acid. The content and ratio of the major phenolic compounds and the composition of their minor components varied depending on the location and conditions of plant growth. The content of derivatives of hydroxycinnamic acids and flavonols increased significantly in response to changes in habitat conditions in natural populations and in the introduction into the forest-steppe zone. The flavones are the least variable compounds in plant leaves. The results can be useful in elaboration of practical recommendations for picking medicinal and food plants in different vegetation conditions

The article presents the results of research on the optimization of the supply of maize plants with the main nutrients under different agrochemical loads in the Forest-Steppe. The aim of the research was to establish the effect of different doses of mineral fertilizers and by-products of the predecessor as fertilizers on the supply of plants with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and corn yield. The research was carried out during 2016-2019 on dark gray wooded soil of the Forest-Steppe with the use of field, chemical, calculation-weight and mathematical-statistical methods. It were found that long-term growing of agricultural crops for 30 years under different agrochemical loading in crop rotation on dark gray wooded soil of the Forest-Steppe led to the creation of different agrochemical backgrounds. According to the results of soil and plant diagnostics, it has been established that nitrogen is the limiting nutrient for growing corn. In the variants with application of increased (N180P120K180) and high (N240P120K240) norms of mineral fertilizers against the background of by-products of the predecessor (winter wheat straw), where the highest yield of corn is formed - 11.21-12.10 t / ha, mobile phosphorus content 20 cm layer of soil was very high, mobile potassium - high, easily hydrolyzed nitrogen - very low. In these variants, maize plants in stages BBCH 16, 19 and 65 accumulated the optimal amount of nitrogen, and the content of phosphorus and potassium showed optimal and high supply during the growing season for the application of mineral fertilizers in the norms above N60P45K60.According to the results of correlation and regression analysis, the decisive role of nitrogen and potassium in the formation of corn productivity was confirmed. Mathematical models have been constructed that make it possible to predict the level of maize yield depending on the content of chemical elements in the soil and plants at the early stages of BBCH development.

An excavated profile of aeolian-palaeosol-lacustrine sediments (the Wapianliang profile), located at the southeastern part of the Mu Us Desert, Northern China, was studied to reconstruct regional Holocene environmental changes. A chronology was established based on three AMS 14C and two OSL dates, and variations in the lithology and grain size, magnetic susceptibility, soil micromorphology, and chemical elements were used to explore the regional depositional environments during the Holocene. The results showed that since around 14 ka BP, this region had experienced seven alternations of wetting and drying. A shallow lake, which was identified by celadon lacustrine sediments with sporadic freshwater gastropod fossils, occurred in this area from around 13.0 ka BP to 9.9 ka BP. There existed two obvious intervals of soil formation, inferred from the environmental proxies of the palaeosol/sandy palaeosol layers, with relatively fine average grain-size, high magnetic susceptibility value, remarkable pedogenesis features, and strong chemical weathering, in particular, a well-developed palaeosol layer dating from the middle Holocene (8.6 ka BP to 4.2 ka BP). A weakly-developed palaeosol layer (from around 1.2 ka BP) at the upper part of the profile is possibly an indication of the Medieval Warm Period. This implies a forest steppe environment at both of these sedimentary stages. After 0.9 ka BP, a desert environment returned, analogous to before around 13.0 ± 1.4 ka BP, between 9.9 ± 1.1 ka BP to 8.6 ka BP, and between 4.2 ka BP to 1.6 ka BP, indicating the aggravation of aeolian activity and the expansion of mobile sand dunes. The variations in sedimentary environments were mainly triggered by changes in the East Asian Summer Monsoon (EASM).

In terms of geographical distribution and consumption, potatoes occupy one of the leading positions in the structure of food production in Ukraine. It is also used extensively as animal feed. The versatility of use in diff erent sectors of the economy with potatoes cannot be compared to any crop. Potato is of great importance as a raw material for the production of starch, sugar, molasses, alcohol, glucose and etc. A signifi cant reduction in the commodity production of food potatoe in farms is related to the solution a whole complex of important issues, in particular seed production, agro-technology of cultivation, application of highly eff ective pesticides, availability of agricultural machinery and material-technical support. The difficult ecological and energy situation in modern agriculture proves that it is possible to obtain high and stable yields of all crops only if there are varieties in production adapted to diff erent soil and climatic conditions. Variety is one of the important factors of yield stability and fi xed assets of agricultural production. A variety, as a genotype or a set of very close genotypes, exists in a specific environment and, moreover, interacts with it, encountering complex communication, intensity and time of manifestation, abiotic and biotic factors. At the same time, a connection is established between a variety and an environment that infl uences the formation and manifestation of morphological, economic and biological characters. The aim of the research was to study the growth, development and yield of early ripe potato varieties in the rightbank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The article presents the results of studies on the cultivation of early ripe varieties of potatoes. Namely, the germination and survival of potato plants was studied, which amounted to 89.5 and 87.3 % in the Skarbnytsa variety, 90.2 and 88.7 % in the Shchedryk variety, and 88.6 and 86.5 % in the Dnipryanka variety; the number of formed stems per plant is calculated, which is 3.3 in the Skarbnytsa variety, 3.6 in the Shchedryk variety and 2.7 in the Dniprianka variety. The dynamics of the mass increase and the fractional composition of potato tubers are shown. On average, during the research, the average weight of tubers from the bush was high for the Shchedryk variety and amounted to 616.2 g, somewhat less than those for the Skarbnytsa (484,5 g) and Dniprianka (397,8 g) varieties. It was established that the Shchedryk variety had the highest potato productivity in the experiment – 250.3 c/ha, in the Skarbnytsa and Dnipryanka varieties, the yield was 210.0 and 201.2 c/ha, respectively. Key words: potato, varieties, plant survival, tubers weight, productivity.

The species diversity and taxonomic structure of myxomycetes of the epiphytic-corticoid complex has been studied in pine forests on the Pinus sylvestris . The study area is located in the Asian part of Russia, in the southeast of the West Siberian Plain. Species diversity has been revealed using the classical method of moist-chambers, based on the presence in the life cycle of mucus staggering stages - microcysts and sclerotia, from which, under certain favorable conditions, plasmodium and, later, fruit bodies - sporocarpas may appear in the Petri dish. We selected 720 packages for the installation of moist-chambers between 2008 and 2016 in the study area. The experiments with moist-chambers were performed between 2008 and 2017. We received 361 samples of the myxomycetes. A sample is a colony of sporocarpas derived from a single plasmodium. As a result of taxonomic identification we received 28 species of Myxomycetes belonging to 5 orders, 7 families, and 13 genera on the pine bark. It is noted that 6 species of Myxomycetes develop on the pine bark, absent in the area of the study on the bark of other tree species - Echinostelium fragile, Paradiacheopsis rigida, Physarum auriscalpium, Ph. mutabile, Stemonaria nannengae, Willkommlangea reticulata.

Vegetation of the right bank of the Ob River in the limits of Novosibirsk area consists of southern taiga, subtaiga and forest-steppe elements. More over, in comparison with neighboring areas on the West Siberian Plain, it contains the significant amount of mountain elements (Kuminova, Vagina, Lapshina, 1963). Natural vegetation of the area belongs to the forest-steppe subzone of the West Siberian province (Il’ina, 1985). Low percentage of forest coverage is caused by anthropogenic deforestation and wide distribution of meadows (Lapshina, 1963). This is the most endangered vegetation in Novosibirsk area. Spatial vegetation structure was studied by using the model of the Ob River basin covered 184 square kilometers. Well-developed system of ravines and small creeks caused a presence of relatively large areas with very low anthropogenic impact which potentially could be the refuges of pristine zonal vegetation. Main vegetation type of this basin is forest which covered about 31% of the area. Forest diversity of model area consists of four syntaxa of association and subassociation ranks belonging to the Brachypodio pinnati–Betuletea pendulae class. Meadow vegetation is presented by five syntaxa from the Molinio-Arrhenatheretea class and mire vegetation — by two syntaxa from the Alneteae glutinosae class. Two subassociations and four variants are described for the first time. The ravine systems could be considered as low-level landscape structures which are the natural refuges with high level of biodiversity and habitats of rare and endangered species. The slope vegetation organized in ecological rows consists of three up to four syntaxa changing from the top to the ravine bottom. The Ob River Basin flora is characterized by insignificant amount of meadow steppe species, well-represented mire flora and a presence of mountain and taiga elements. The most specific floristic features are the presence of ephemeroid species, taiga species and Siberian tertiary nemoral relics (Polozhiy, Krapivkina, 1985). All these features allow us to refer the river basin vegetation to the low-mountain subtaiga type.

The data on the content of 22 chemical elements in the leaves and rhizomes of Hemerocallis hybrida plants of the Speak to me and Regal Air varieties growing in soil-ecological conditions of the forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia are presented. The General regularities of accumulation and distribution of macro- and microelements in leaves and rhizomes of plants of two varieties of daylilies are established: excess of the content of many microelements (vanadium, chromium, nickel, rubidium) in rhizomes in comparison with leaves. It was revealed that the concentration of chemical elements in plants differed both in organs and between varieties. The peculiarity of the mineral composition of the Regal Air variety was the excess of the total content of trace elements in 1.5–3 times compared to the variety Speak to me. Concentrations of individual elements in the leaves and rhizomes of daylilies differed significantly. It is shown that in both varieties in the leaves the amount of bromine was 4 times higher than in rhizomes, strontium – 1.5–1.8 times. The concentration of toxicant elements in the phytomass of Hemerocallis hybrida varieties was significantly lower than permissible concentration, which makes it possible to use them for medicinal purposes.
