The purpose of the article is to characterize computer games as a component of culture and a subject of cultural research. The methodology involves distraction from the technological aspects of the genesis and implementation of computer games and is determined mainly by the humanitarian guidelines for the phenomenon under study. Thus, the methodological principles are based on the cultural research concept of computer games as a value of modern culture. The scientific novelty is that for the first time in Ukrainian cultural research the need to study computer games as a component of culture is actualized. Conclusions. The article highlights the need for cultural research of computer games as a full and equal component of culture. Attention is paid to the scale of the computer games spread, their importance for culture and the individual, as well as the impact on various spheres of human life. Conclusions. It is emphasized that the issue of the creation and functioning of computer games in modern society is an inexhaustible source for further research, including in cultural research. Computer games are a wide “field” for the application of the latest IT developments, philosophical ideas, and artistic innovations. Therefore, this issue will remain in the focus of research not only for cultural scientists but also for philosophers, educators and psychologists, sociologists, economists, and jurists, given the pace and scale of the information spread and communication technologies, and most importantly their complexity.

The evolutionary status of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is central to assessments of whether modern society has created it, either physically or socially; and is potentially useful in understanding its neurobiological basis and treatment. The high prevalence of ADHD (5–10%) and its association with the seven-repeat allele of DRD4, which is positively selected in evolution, raise the possibility that ADHD increases the reproductive fitness of the individual, and/or the group. However, previous suggestions of evolutionary roles for ADHD have not accounted for its confinement to a substantial minority. Because one of the key features of ADHD is its diversity, and many benefits of population diversity are well recognized (as in immunity), we study the impact of groups' behavioural diversity on their fitness. Diversity occurs along many dimensions, and for simplicity we choose unpredictability (or variability), excess of which is a well-established characteristic of ADHD. Simulations of the Changing Food group task show that unpredictable behaviour by a minority optimizes results for the group. Characteristics of such group exploration tasks are risk-taking, in which costs are borne mainly by the individual; and information-sharing, in which benefits accrue to the entire group. Hence, this work is closely linked to previous studies of evolved altruism. We conclude that even individually impairing combinations of genes, such as ADHD, can carry specific benefits for society, which can be selected for at that level, rather than being merely genetic coincidences with effects confined to the individual. The social benefits conferred by diversity occur both inside and outside the ‘normal’ range, and these may be distinct. This view has the additional merit of offering explanations for the prevalence, sex and age distribution, severity distribution and heterogeneity of ADHD.

The twentieth century was one of change and unrest. What characterises the age is that society, up to a high degree, was hostile to spiritual life. The spiritual values seemed to be neglected or totally abandoned for the material, more matter-of-fact values. This left society in a state of increasing confusion that was substantially realised in the outbreak of World War I. The impact of the war revealed the degeneration of the modern world with the breakdown of religion and moral and spiritual traditions. T. S. Eliot was fully aware of the ills of modern civilisation that surrounded people with a number of faiths established haphazardly to fight against the troubles of modern life. These faiths refer to political and social ideologies, parties, and allegiances. Eliot finds that all modern ideologies are poor and futile substitutions for religious faith. He finds that society should be built not upon power and its corruption, but upon a higher system of values which are mainly spiritual and moral. This research paper demonstrates how Eliot's Four Quartets affirms the possibility of spiritual regeneration and gives a positive projection of hope. The central theme of the poem is that if the heart of the individual is ever to be at rest, if his/her tormented apprehension about the transience of human life is ever to be calmed, it will be so when he/she accepts the conviction that humans’ peace is in God's will.

In the article, the authors substantiates the modern model of the interman as a creative cyber personality, which has the potential to be identified with the correspondence of virtual bodies as a problem of modern culture. It is emphasized that it is precisely this functional possibility that finds out a new paradigm of human existence, in which entropy as a criterial device modernizes modern society. It is determined that the most intelligently gifted people are able to master the noosphere space of being through the phenomenal wisdom recipes. This content shows entropy as a defining modus of probable processes, in which modernization of a modern person, state and society takes place, since the criterion of the entropy apparatus is the recognition of that random fact (events, situations) that becomes logical. It is emphasized that the main direction of risk processes in the phenomenal wisdom recipes for the personality, the state and society should be truly chosen in the entropy system, carefully studying the theory of probable functions. It is revealed that ideological borrowings contain a considerable danger, since ideology has a class modification due to the modernization of a certain class on the basis of samples of another's experience. It is concluded that this may lead to an urgent inter-class conflict, to strengthen, oppositional sentiment. An overview of modernization as an entropy of risk processes is given, which is the mainstream in a particular historical retrospective of phenomenal consciousness. It is emphasized that modernization means the creation of a new type of world order, in which human being plays an anthropocentric role at the level of legal subjectivity. The constructive and destructive Spirit of Time according to the entropy criteria is confirmed. Different forms of crisis are revealed when exhausting the established norms and rules of behavior of individuals, groups, classes, ethnic groups, communities. It is envisaged that science is such a fundamental innovation in which entropy depends to a large extent on the mental and value orientations of an individual people, based on consciousness, language, culture, etc. Creation of complex of measures and procedures is envisaged including the risks concerning maintenance of human life and health in the legal state.

We consider some issues of modern society related to the growing trend of social and emotional isolation of the individual, changes in their worldview, leading to the degradation of thinking and intellectual abilities. There is need to search for psychological and pedagogical ways, means and methods to activate the intellectual, emotional and creative development of the individual. A possible way to solve the identified social issues is the possibility of forming a person's skills for improvisation. We consider the implementation of this process in educational and creative activities of an amateur theater group as a sphere that provides ample opportunities for creative self-realization of the individual. We define the term “improvisation” as a universal ability of the individual, which is manifested in various creative processes, as well as in many other aspects of human life. An actor forms improvisational skills in an amateur theater group due to the organization and implementation of a number of pedagogical conditions, such as: creating a climate of psychological comfort that promotes the self-disclosure of individual and creative abilities of participants in an amateur theater group; using the etude method in the process of mastering the elements of acting improvisation by an amateur actor; mastering the basics of “effective thinking” through specific training exercises. The content component of the implementation of these pedagogical conditions, according to the authors, activates the course of the described process.

In the era of progressive technological and social development, housing environment should respond to actual demands of modern society, with the idea of flexibility and adaptability as the key parameters of sustainable living. Application of the flexible elements in the interior provides a variety of spatial interpretations of the residential unit that can be determined by an architect or by users, depending on the applied design concept. The degree of achieved spatial flexibility will depend on the degree of independence of moveable elements within the unchanging structure of the apartment. Appropriate selection and analysis of the certain number of projects and realizations in the field of flexible housing, points to the diversity of motives of flexible elements application and considers the impact of applied design approach on the interpretation of residential environment. Different social, political and economic circumstances in which the individual examples emerged are also taken into consideration.

In world philosophical practice, yoga is given great attention: courses are given at leading universities of the world, various kinds of projects are being opened to study this type of spiritual technique, research in history continues, and of course, there are a number of scientists who associate knowledge about it as a scientific character. , and with its practical application in modern culture. Unfortunately, in domestic literature not enough attention paid to such an ancient and relevant philosophy in the modern world. In the article we set the task to analyze this aspect of multifaceted human life from the standpoint of the modern European researcher. Eastern culture can be viewed in the context of art, religion, mythology, but the question arises: can it be viewed and evaluated in the context of mental, rational discourse? On the basis of ancient texts, on the basis of works of famous Indologists, modern European philosophers, an attempt was made to describe the rationality of yoga and give it a definition. The author goes to the general nature of the rationality of the East, represented by a cosmological-mythological worldview. He concludes that for a man of the East there are other norms and criteria of rationality than for a European-oriented worldview. The author also analyzes the nature of the design thinking of a person with this form of worldview. For a person of the East, there are other norms and criteria for rationality than for a European-oriented worldview. The rationality of the philosophy of yoga should be the basis for research practices and technologies of yoga. It can be given a conditional definition, but its meaning is deep and rooted in hoary antiquity, and requires careful and thorough analysis. The union of all ascetic practices and religious teachings takes place in the Gita, so without analyzing its texts, it is impossible to understand the rationality of yoga. Yoga rationality is mythological and cosmological in nature: it is an a priori scheme of man’s perception of the world and himself, in which ideas about karma and nirvana were central to world orientation and activity, and the mystic of cosmic and biological emphasized the polyvalence of these apriorisms. Such rationality allows the yogi to mentally move from the world of carnal beings into the world of gods and into the world of transcendental gods. The last world appears as an intermediate between the phenomenal world and the non-world of nirvana. Various Indian practices, techniques, and methods aimed at freeing the spirit through separation acquired their followers, because after the “Upanishads” the rejection of life due to socio-political structures and history became the most worthy soteriological solution. Hence the orientation of the yogi to internal self-improvement and indifference to the outside world. Moral decency and cosmic order here are concepts of the same level, starting with the moral positions of the individual soul, which is akin to the spiritual essence of the Cosmos, and Good and Evil act as metaphors for the rhythmic nature of life, both of Cosmos and of Man.

Introduction. The problem of informational violence in modern society permeates all spheres of human activity and affects all its structural aspects. Information violence, expressed in imposing false ideals and meanings of human life, neuro-linguistic programming, in public debauchery and pseudo information, has a negative impact on the evolution of human consciousness. A special form of informational violence is computer gaming addiction, which in foreign and domestic psychology is no longer new, but due to serious negative consequences, it does not only  lose its relevance, but also becomes more acute due to an increase in number of  addicted computer players.Materials and methods. The study used theoretical (analysis of psychological, pedagogical and philosophical literature) and empirical methods (questioning, pedagogical observation, testing, stating experiment, forming experiment, quantitative and qualitative analysis) of the study.Results. As a result of the study, factors of individual and personal development were identified that contribute to the formation of computer gaming addiction with  younger adolescence peculiarities of  development of subjectivity were revealed with balanced and unbalanced development of parameters of subjectivity). The survey sample included 146 students aged 10 to 11 (younger adolescence). A comparative analysis of the results of the study of individual personality factors of adolescents with high and low levels of computer gaming addiction showed significant differences (p <0.001).Discussion and conclusions. According to the results of the study, it was revealed that computer games, being an element of the information environment of modern society, have a significant impact on the development of the mental characteristics of a younger teenager. With children having high rates of ICD, there are low cognitive abilities; low indicators on the following parameters of a subjectivity: awareness of the ability to reflect; awareness of freedom of choice and responsibility for it; understanding and acceptance of another, awareness of self-development.

The process of education and formation of the individual at the present stage of development of society must be considered in the totality of all social processes that are inextricably linked in their mutual existence. The unwillingness or inability of the subjects of social relations to see in the individual the absolute goal of any social interaction activates the initial contradiction between freedom and necessity, which manifests itself externally in a conflict between individuals in a social conflict. It is overcome by a commitment to moral duty and respect for social norms. The secret of orientation to this kind of relationship is quite simple: the modern educational process is a phenomenon of social culture, which can be represented as a process of cultural education or a process of personal inculturation. In modern society, a positive stereotype of school life was formed: the teacher corresponded to the image of the most respected person – for his knowledge, wisdom, kindness and other personal qualities. This was facilitated both by society as a whole (first of all, by state propaganda, in which the teacher was given a dominant role), and by specific teaching staff. People had a clear idea of the purpose of their life and how to achieve it. Moreover, these methods were not reflected by the negative of their achievement on others. The paper analyzes the influence of mass media, cinema, pop music on the state of upbringing of the younger generation, reveals the consequences of the impact of modern media resources on the formation of behavior and self-consciousness of the younger generation in the modern world.

When in the 1960s religious congregations were suffering from diminishing membership, the sociology of religion turned away from the study of organized religion in order to study private religiosity, even though new social forms of religion were emerging. The article addresses first the impact of globalization on the place of religious communities in the fabric of national and transnational society. Labor migration severs the individual from his or her transmitted loyalties and places him or her amid the risks of the labor market. Parallel to this, the nation state conveys public tasks into private hands in the realms of education, health care, social welfare, and sometimes security. Both changes open up new opportunities for religious communities. Second, the paper addresses the subjective side of the shift, focusing on the Abrahamic religions. They claim the promise given to Abraham—that he and his descendants will be blessed and become a great nation—for their communities. When the factual history contradicts that expectation, prophetic and apocalyptic visions of a bright future keep alive that faith. They summon the believers to fight for the well being of their community, to assist and support each other, and to claim public recognition for their community, since it is beneficial to the entire society. The article argues that this model of religious communality enabled believers in the past to appropriate official legal and social forms for their community. Max Weber in his Economy and Society also argued that religious communality remains a powerful social order in modern society. According to him its strength derives from the subjective religious expectations of social actors and the positive or negative impact their practices exercise on other social orders such as economy, family, state, and law.

The article is devoted to the problems of formation of interethnic tolerance in young people under the influence of socio-psychological factors of modern society. Modern scientific approaches to the study of tolerance as a socio-psychological phenomenon are considered. Interethnic tolerance as a factor of conflict-free existence in society is a necessary and sufficient condition for the formation of social unity, mature social consciousness, the principles of nonviolent solution of social problems and a balanced approach to creating social reality. Tolerance at the individual level is the ability to perceive without aggression thoughts that differ from their own, as well as – the behavior and lifestyle of others. Tolerance of other people's way of life, behavior, customs, feelings, ideas, beliefs is a condition for the stability and unity of societies, especially those that are not homogeneous in religious, ethnic or other social dimensions. The existence of such a phenomenon as ethnic stereotype is fully explained by the desire of human consciousness to facilitate understanding of society, to simplify the perception of knowledge about social reality. In order to determine the impact of ethnic stereotypes on the culture of interethnic interaction in modern multinational society, it is necessary to first formulate their role in society. Ethnic stereotypes are primarily cultural formations that are natural and exist as long as there are peoples and ethnic communities. First of all, it should be noted that ethnic stereotype as a regulatory element of ethnic identity performs three important functions: cognitive, communicative and the function of protecting a positive ethnic identity. A significant contribution to the formation of ethnic tolerance in Ukrainian society belongs to civil society institutions. It is the institutionalization of democratic citizenship that is manifested in the active conscious participation of activists of public organizations in identifying ethnic stereotypes and promoting ethnic tolerance. Since tolerance is based on acceptance, respect and fair understanding of the diversity of ethnic groups and peoples, forms of expression and manifestations of individuality and uniqueness of each person, this should be facilitated by knowledge, communication, lack of censorship, freedom of belief and conscience.
